[There's really probably worse things that could have happened - like, say, it was snowing, or hailing, or something like that. Rain is pretty mild compared to some of the other weather, but that doesn't make him any less miserable and unwilling to leave the safety of the coffee shops awning. Which he should probably do soon, because it's not like there's a lot of space under there, and there's probably some poor soul who actually has an umbrella who wants to leave.

(If he had money to buy a coffee, he wouldn't care, but he's thirteen and broke and he really doesn't want to deal with any dirty looks from the workers just yet....)]

[He's not big on shopping. He doesn't really get an allowance, and he's picky as hell. Still, malls are...about one of the best places to go when you're too young to do shit without your parents driving you around.

Speaking of parents, he's not sure where his mom has disappeared to. It's her fault that Marzio is at the mall in the first place. Something about one of his aunt's friend's having a baby so they had to get baby shower stuff or something? (He'd never understand why his mom obsessed over babies so much.) So, he's alone in the mall and he has nothing better to do than wonder around the mall and rifle through clothes racks, staring and judging clothes that are way overpriced for how flimsy they are.
