or perhaps it has something to do with the book in her lap, all bizarre diagrams and incomprehensible symbols. she seems to be turning the pages one by one, inspecting each individually to see whether the water's damaged any of it. ]

[ audrey has been trying quite hard to not actually fight the herd of crows that's been chasing her for two or three minutes now. for one, the nightmares have been getting consistently more violent lately, and she hardly wants to give in to something as base as that (especially when such pretty birds are involved!). more importantly, though, she'd have to take her gloves off to fight back - and she hasn't taken them off in public yet, with good reason.
so instead, she just clutches her book to her chest and keeps running. really, it's more exasperating than anything. they'll have to grow tired sooner or later, right? sooner, she hopes - she doesn't know how much longer she can keep this up for. ]
