Save the Earth requires a good deal of thought to apply into. Because of this, it can't hurt to get some input into your ideas or to get some idea of how other players will feel about them.

This post is exactly for that. Think of it as a creativity workshop where there are no stupid questions, bad ideas can get weeded out and good ones can get fed properly. However, this space is for constructive criticism only. Please remain mindful of that.

How it Works:

Put forward your idea for a character you wish to apply. Point out the parts you like most, the holes you want help with, the parts where you can't seem to make up your mind either way. Consider what sort of goals you'd like to achieve in the game, why you think the character is a good fit and what sort of roles they'll be able to fulfil. Don't be afraid to let it all If you have an app in progress, you might want to link to it. Similarly, linking to a resource to let others know the preincarnated character better might be a good idea.

Then, discuss with others! Hopefully you'll be able to make your vision more complete and understand the game better. Potentially you could formulate future CR or even pre-game CR.

As far as baseline human goes, I don't know what modly plans are in place, but I do note that the FAQ page talks about apping StE natives - "a completely ordinary human" - and says that "This may not seem appealing in early gameplay, but will become more relevant in later seasons." So there may well be unexpected Somethings.

I observe there aren't any new comments here in the last two weeks, but I'll try anyway. I'm looking to app this character here, Rikka Hishikawa from Dokidoki Precure. Her canon involves middle-school girls called up to become magical girls that save the world.

Rikka's AU is Winter Adamas, a high-school girl that has a disdain for her parents and the start of her own organization of underlings. I... am admittedly bad at summarizing, so just have a link.

I'm not sure what I need to tighten up on her app... but it still feels off. I'm reviewing the game materials, but I would love someone to make sure I'm not overstepping, and help me make sure this... makes sense, I guess? I'm sorry, I have no idea how to ask, but I want to make sure I'd doing this right.

I'm completely canon-blind, so I can't give you much help there, but one of the more common revision requests I've seen is for how the character would react to all the violent goings-on in the game. So you might want to include your thoughts on that in the personality section.

Not sure how often this thread is checked but what the hell, I could use some input.

So I'm considering apping this character here: Vin, from Brandon Sanderson's fantasy-heist novel Mistborn. For those not familiar she's essentially a street urchin thief who ended up being a rebel hero with superpowers.

The idea I'm working with for her reincarnated personality is a kid who grew up in foster care and maybe ended up as a runaway, living on the streets, probably drifting from place to place for a while. I am a little hesitant about doing that though, since I don't know if the idea has been done before and even if it's pretty close to her canon backstory I know characters like that tend to set off an alarm or two in some people's heads.

The bigger stumbling block, however, is her abilities which there are quite a lot of and are pretty complicated. The gist of it is that she has the power of Allomancy, which involves swallowing certain metals and "burning" them to use as fuel for superhuman powers. For instance, burning one metal will give her super strength, another one will give her super senses and so on. I've written up a more detailed explanation here.

The problem I'm trying to get around is how to regain these powers through Echoes. I was thinking the best way might be to have an earlier one (maybe her first) being the memory of Allomancy and how to actually use it with later Echoes returning the ability to use the specific metals one at a time. The other problem is where to get the metals to use at all so I was also wondering if there was a way in game to deal with that or maybe a character that could ICly help her out.

Any input either to how her background or powers would work, or anything else, would be awesome. Thanks.
