Fai blinks in completely unfeigned surprise at first, because he definitely hadn't expected something like that. But he wouldn't be Fai if he couldn't read quite a lot out of a statement like that, and perhaps even more out of that mix of concern and guilt. His smile softens a bit, and he shakes his head.

"Kuro-pon knows he won't be able to catch me unless I want him to." He laughs quietly, fondly. "And even if he did, he wouldn't ever hurt me. The purpose is to chase and threaten and wave things about, not to actually do anything more than that." He shrugs a bit. "It's true that sometimes he's really gotten angry with me, but most of the time he just keeps losing his temper because that's how he is."
