A simple meme. Post a comment describing a hypothetical meeting between the Save the Earth AU version of- hold on, this is a meme so we need a silly picture.

A simple meme. Post a comment describing a hypothetical meeting between the Save the Earth AU version of your character (IE the one in this game) and the original version (IE the one straight out of the TV show/book/game.) either with a description of their opinions or with an actually written out conversion.
Also, if you like, you can continue by way of tagging other people's posts, and threading out an encounter between your StE AU and their Original Flavor version. Or between your your Original Flavor and their StE AU.

But all in all I think he would be pretty fine with this other version of him and, especially if we're talking post!canon Kurogane, I don't think he'd really envy him of anything really in spite of Youou having had a much easier and happier life. Because with the way Kurogane is, in spite of all the shit that's been thrown at him, there's no place he'd rather be than where he is and he doesn't really believe in having regrets.
So from Kurogane's direction everything is fine. At least until they'd start talking after which everything would go to hell. Mostly because Youou, well...
Youou opinion of Kurogane is that he's a dick. And possibly an abusive one. Who really needs to get a control of his temper because jesus fucking christ not every problem can be solved by BASHING PEOPLE ON THE HEAD OR STABBING THEM THROUGH THE CHEST WITH YOUR SWORD! Maybe he should try communicating once in a while? Since that's a thing that Kurogane seems to forget a bit too often. And he's very sorry about how Kurogane lost his parents, and he can't even begin to imagine what that might feel like, but that is no excuse to mass murder people. Even if they're assassins or whatever.
And he'd have no problem with expressing this, probably using very big and fancy words because let's face it he's a bit more articulate than his older version. And then he'd start on Kurogane's life choices and then things would be going downhill pretty quickly, partly thanks to the fact that they now pretty much share the same temper problems. Depending on how much he knows about Kurogane's behaviour in the beginning of his travels he might also call him out on being a bit of a hypocrite, which I can't see going down well.
Basically they would probably end up shouting abuse at each other until their
keepersbetter halves manages to diffuse the situation somewhat. But, after they've cleared the air a bit about certain stuff, they could probably learn to get along pretty well, with the exception of a few more shouting matches.Fay meeting Kurogane, whoop whoop
clothes that actually cover his midriffsomething fairly stylish but also very pink and white, his hair is slightly shorter than Fai's ever was, and his eyes are a shade off."So... I'm gonna be guessing, what with the weird clothes and that great damn sword and the whole energy blast thing that Youou got... that you're some kind of warrior, right? Looking pretty fierce there, I ain't gonna lie." Also there's the accent. Apologies about that.

And then there's that name he used. Youou, a name that only princess Tomoyo should know about and still this guy's using it like it's no big thing. Kurogane has been his name for so long that he's never even stopped to consider than other him, born in another world and under different circumstances, might be using that name instead. Still, no matter the reason, the name and that face is putting him on edge. Which is why Fay will have the pleasure of having a face full of ninja within the blink of an eye.
"Who are you?"
no subject
"Well, I think that you- that is to say, I am a person that you know, but from a different life. And you're another version of my Youou. That seems like the most reasonable explanation, though I appreciate that the word 'reasonable' is a bit of a stretch."

because god knows he can't imagine that man not needing a keeper in any life, but... yeah, communication being a problem is still a bit of a thing. He watches Fay with sharp eyes, used to having to see through a number of layers before getting to the truth and his so far open reactions interests him."So you're Fai, huh? Or... Yuui?" The name sits strangely in his mouth, because while he knows it's the name Fai was born with it's not one they ever use and the thought of this person using it feels even weirder than hearing his own true name being used.
no subject
"I ain't never even heard those names, sorry." A one-shoulder, offhand shrug. "My friends mostly call me Fay, but that's more like a nickname. My real name's Fenn Forster, and I don't care for it much." He tilts his head a bit, and a small smile creeps over his lips and amusement lights his eyes. "And I have a feeling you're not called Youou Timothy Harrison-Suwa, right?"
no subject
He bristles a bit, his eyes narrowing, at hearing not only his true name but also the name of his former home. "No, my name is Kurogane." He might put a bit of unnecessary emphasis on his name, but if this was someone with the same soul as Fai then he wasn't going to trust him to get it right. "However, two of the names you mentioned are not exactly unfamiliar to me."
no subject
He shrugs lightly. "And I've got a feeling that maybe we're alike in some ways and different than others. A lot different in some."
no subject
"And yeah, it makes sense you wouldn't be completely the same. Just the essence or soul or whatever. You don't seem like you're hiding things as much as he does."
no subject
Though that comment makes him tilt his head a bit, perplexed. "What d'you mean with 'hide things'? I know I can be a bit crypitic about things, and I ain't good at expressing feelings, but my mama always told me that I should never bet a single penny at gaming, 'cause I ain't got the poker face that God gave a puppy."
no subject
"Well I guess that's something the two of you have in common. He's not very good at expressing his feelings either." Stones in glasshouses, Kurogane. Though, admittedly he's still a lot better at it than Fai. "He's got a pretty solid poker face though, always all smiles even if he's hurting." It's probably a pretty interesting sight, watching him go from so very worked up and indignant to this more solemn mood. Because Fai's lies still matter in a way that the teasing doesn't, that's just for fun after all, and while it's mostly behind them by know it has still left its trace. "He's getting better, but I guess old habits die hard."
Then the first part of what Fay said, that was previously ignored in his indignation, finally sinks in properly and he frowns. "Wait. What do you mean you remember him using them?"
no subject
Yeah, this Fai is clearly different in a lot of ways. Now he shrugs loosely with a small grimace. "Yeah, we all do. And by 'all' I guess this group of people I'm a part of. We get all kinds of memories and abilities from... well, from the life we had before this one, I guess."
no subject
"Well, good. Shows you have a bit more sense at least. Not that it'd take much." In spite of the grumpy words it still doesn't take much to hear the underlying fondness in his voice. "Make sure not to change that."
And the whole remembering stuff from previous lives or whatever was still weird. And a bit disconcerting. There were several things in his past he didn't want anyone else to just randomly know about, even if was another him, and he knew he wasn't the only one in their group to feel that way. And to be honest, the thought of someone being able to access the memories that Fai had spent so much time and energy guarding without knowing the importance of them didn't sit right with him either. "Really? Can't say I've ever come across that before. Can't say I like the thought of someone having access to my memories just like that. So, what kind of stuff are you guys remembering? Apart from the stupid nickname stuff." Seriously, what the fuck was up with that?
no subject
He considers the question carefully, averting his eyes a bit. It had never really struck him that what was happening to them is a kind of invasion of privacy, but now that he thinks about it, he doesn't like it at all. "Well, I've remembered all sorts of things. Some things were harmless enough, about running a café and being in some kind of huge library, memories about people. Others were... less nice. Having my eye eaten, seeing two bodies underwater, a... tower." He shudders visibly. "Youou's gotten a mix too. He remembers a girl called Tomoyo, and this weird language, but he also remembers... ah, you killing a lot of people." Well, no sense in being bashful about it.
