Emmanuel is a bit worried about him, emotionally, because he's also feeling a big distance between himself and whoever "Cas" is. Basically...he's concerned about the idea of loss of self-identity, if that makes any sense. Not to mention the affects disturbing Echoes have on emotional well-being. He knows Shou is a decent guy because he's been offering to help with money and places to stay, and the idea that Echoes might not just change people physically worries him.

Unfortunately, because of this, he's less likely to talk about his own concerns because he doesn't want to put more on Shou's plate.
