'Tis a new month, and let us have another round of the CR/Plotting Meme!
As always, the meme's open for making arrangements with and between not only current but potential characters in StE; there will be a header under which to comment with potential characters - when doing so, please label with characters' reincarnated names (if decided!) and pre-incarnated names and canons in the comments' subject lines.

POTENTIAL CHARACTERS
Tobias Malin | Toboe (Wolf's Rain)
Pre-Incarnation: Toboe - Wolf's Rain
Toby is set to be a twenty-four-year-old organized crime stooge with a deceptively jovial, eager, and chummy on one hand if somewhat pettily competitive, cocky, and mama's-boy personality on the other - in his past life a wolf-were of sorts, raised as the pet pup (grandson of sorts, as he'd have considered himself) of an elderly lady and who went on to be the youngest member of a ragtag pack.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Toby's family all make their home in or near Locke City, and he himself is the eldest and most affable of five brothers - out of whom he's not the only one who is or has been involved in street gang, petty criminal, or organized criminal activity. He also partakes in hunting - specifically bow-hunting - and adores cats, in a tad of irony.
Open/Wanted CR: Not particularly - any acquaintances it might be possible to see him entering the game with would be lovely to have, on a pleasant or animous basis!
Other Info: His first Echo is going to have been projection of a human illusion - wolves in his original's canon were hunted to nigh-extinction with the survivors, however it came about, learning to get by and recover among humans by ambiguously-psychically tricking humans into seeing and hearing them as human. 'Til he becomes aware of it, any physical Echoes he receives will be invisible to most more often than not - excluding animals and those immune to "glamour" effects, should that be a point of note!

Nat Perry | Nyanta (Log Horizon)
Pre-Incarnation: Nyanta - Log Horizon
Nat is a twenty-five year old cook who's particular about his appearance when outside his eatry. A relatively happy, friendly and personable man. However he does have a bit of a shrewd and smug streak in him. He pretty much does whatever holds his intrest. In his past life he was trapped in an MMO as a Werecat Swashbuckler...and kinda took the RPing as a cat a bit too far.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Nat moved to Lockew hen he was pretty young so he's been around for a while.
Open/Wanted CR: While I want to say any, I would like something to do with establishing a diner/eatry/what have you. Seriously hit me up with anything though.
Other Info: His echoes will slowly be turning him back to his avatar, and first one would give him more cat like eyes, which he's passing off as a pair of contacts.

harper sutherland | kanade minamino (suit precure♪)

a smart, strict, bossy, 16-year-old starling-chandler student with a propensity for being naggy, having an awful temper when riled, not knowing how to do the sports, and turning into a larger-than-life ultra nerd when confronted with her crushes. (who are also subject to her ridiculously high standards i'm so sorry) it comes from a place of love though i swear. she will nag and cheer her loved ones on and make sure you do your homework and feed you and everything.
she bakes. she bakes really well. but she doesn't know shit about music this time around.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: her twin brother is spoken for! classmates, people who frequent whichever bakery she might end up at, i haven't decided if it's family owned or if i'd like to hit up one of our lovely pc bakers. anything honestly!
Open/Wanted CR: she gets on well with: people she can idolize/fawn/fuss over, driven people who need a loud driving force in their lives and/or people who are dodgy and need about five thousand extra pushes to get shit done. on the flip side she needs stabilizing presences too since she can get an inferiority complex the size of the moon at random. ...cat owners.
Other Info: all of her magical girl echoes will probably be awful. she's going to think her fairy tones are ringpops. her first transformation is going to turn her into an embarrassed sobbing wreck. she's going to echo back an obsession with cat paws.

Takane Enomoto | Kagerou Project
Pre-Incarnation: also Takane Enomoto but with the bonus alias "Ene"
Grumpy, sick teenaged gaming addict who lived a fairly boring life where her biggest concern was her feelings for her doofus classmate before she was killed by her teacher and became a computer program. Then her personality did a total flip because she wasn't ill anymore. She'll be reincarnated with some sort of medical condition again--it's kind of MYSTERIOUS ANIME ILLNESS in canon, but I'm probably going with narcolepsy here--and still way too into video games. But this time she'll live with a single father instead of her grandma and actually probably be in a normal class instead of a special one for sick one for sick kids like in canon because you don't get that much special treatment for sleep disorders.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Classmates definitely. She isn't the type to have had a lot friends but she probably falls asleep in class a lot because of her ~illness~ so that might stand out.
Open/Wanted CR: I'm good with anything, who wants to put up with a tsundere gamer?! She's not likely to talk about the gaming at school or anything but she's especially into FPS games, probably goes on /v/, and I'm toying with other gaming communities she might be involved in.
Other Info: She's going to turn into a legless girl who lives inside electronic devices and bears no resemblance to Miku Hatsune.

Pre-Incarnation: Haruka Kokonose - Kagerou Project
Haruka is a sickly 17 year old boy with a heart condition that leads his parents to pretty much keeping him from ever doing anything fun ever. He only moved to Locke recently and won't be attending any of the highschools. Instead he takes online classes at home, so he really doesn't have many friends at all. He's an extremely talented artist, often sitting outside in front of his house and drawing when most kids would be walking home from school. There's plenty of opportunities to run into him there, but he isn't out of the house unaccompanied too often.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Since Haruka didn't live in Locke most of his life and doesn't really go anywhere much, pre-network pickings are pretty slim. His parents may have allowed him to get SOME social time in by letting him help out at one of the local highschools when they needed artsy shit done, but that's about all. You might know him as "stoop kid" or "stoop kid who is afraid to leave the stoop." Maybe you're one of his neighbors?
Open/Wanted CR: Haruka will be so happy to make so many friends. Ridiculously so. He doesn't get to meet people too often, but now having the network constantly at his fingertips he'll be overjoyed to interact with others and share his artwork. Jerks are welcome to put a damper on his happy-go-lucky dorky personality and tell him his art sucks, though.
Other Info: Haruka is probably going to eventually become an android, ridding him of most of his health problems and probably causing him to become more annoying than usual. Hopefully he won't become the version of himself that murdered all of his friends though.

Cloud Strife | err cloud strife IDK (Final Fantasy VII
Pre-Incarnation: Cloud Strife Final Fantasy VII
So. What I have for him so far is that he's in his thirties and had been a BIG THING if you were into dirt bike racing and that sort of thing. He had an accident that made him retire and he is now running a salvage yard that sometimes might harbor some shady people or might sometimes mistakenly salvage a hot car. He also teaches people how to ride bikes.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Former friends, criminal types, police types, family, heck anyone that might have known him at one point in time. He comes from the frozen tundra, so he retains a little of Da Rangcher accent
and phrasing which might make people wonder what he's on.
Open/Wanted CR: Not really but it would be interesting to see what will turn up.
Other Info: I know his first echo will be Mako Eyes. After that, he is going to somehow get a chocobo.

Sette Frummagem | Unsounded
Character: Sarah Fossard (Name very tentative)
Pre-Incarnation: Sette Frummagem - Unsounded
Sette is a horrible little shit, a streetwise and pointedly bookdumb thief who knows more creative curse words than most sensible adults and will steal anything not nailed down. This little monster is the daughter of a prominent local ganglord, but don't think that means she has it easy: in fact, as a result, her life is a constant struggle to prove herself worthy of his respect and of one day taking his place. That she's a girl in a world with less-than-equitable gender politics doesn't help her obsession with proving herself, nor does the tail sticking out her backside or her supernatural sense of smell, both of which result in rumors that she's possibly not her Da's at all. Maybe not even human at all.
Reimagined for StE, Sarah would be a rich, spoiled brat who is absolutely horrified when a mule's tail juts out from her backside, Pinocchio-style. Every bit the daddy's girl she is in canon, and every bit as horrid, but from a position of privilege instead of a position of poverty.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: She would belong to the upper crust of Locke City. Her family would be rich - maybe even involved with Thunder Corp.
Open/Wanted CR: 'Someone willing to tolerate her bullshit' is about the most I could hope for.
Other Info: If/when events force her to abandon her life of luxury, she will be miserable.
Look, she's just really, really nasty. It's an understandable nasty. An entertaining nasty. But god is she hard to deal with. (What I'm saying here is: CR with Vriska? please)

Pre-Incarnation: Shintaro Kisaragi (Kagerou Daze)
He'd be a high school senior and a genius with an IQ of 168 except two years ago he dropped out and became a shut-in Internet-addict CocaCola worshipper after his best friend died. He's a pro at video games (he once beat the second strongest 1P shooter game player in the country and got a perfect score on the game TAKE THAT TAKANE). He's jumpy and cowardly except for random shows of SHOUNEN and he throws up whenever he moves too fast (like roller coasters).
In Locke City he'll actually be in school, he'll be smart (but not a genius) and he'll still be really, really good at video games and still be pathetic and easily motion sick, but he won't have the depression over being a genius or his best friend dying. He's a lot happier, more functional, going to school, and not being a shut-in.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: I'd like him to have a younger sister! I may or may not NPC that, but she'll be hid kid sister and he could have friends through her. He's also a normal high school student so he can have teachers and classmates and friends through there! Maybe eventually, I'd like him to have a girlfriend....
Open/Wanted CR: ANYTHING! I'm up to everything.
Other Info: His first Echo should be very casual. It's related to video games, so he's going to really gain nothing but the numbers and a jacket through that... aside from that, I'm not sure what to say!

Nathaniel Mithryn | Master Neloth (Elder Scrolls)
Pre-Incarnation: Master Neloth
That's him. That's the character. Thxu Aave.
Nathaniel is a crotchety old man in charge of running a large and well-stocked library located in the city centre. He's decent enough to people who meet his standards - if you're studying something interesting or otherwise looking for books he approves of, he will seem like the pinnacle of wonderful helpful librarianliness. But if you come into his domain and even consider checking out anything from the contemporary young adult selection, he hates you already. He actually has a roll of toilet paper under his desk so that when people try to borrow Twilight he can pull it out and say "try this instead. It has more literary merit."
He has never actually read Twilight. Or even opened it. He's one of those elitists.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: He's a very old man whose wife is dead and he has no children, so no family stuff. BUT if your character is the type to frequent libraries, they're more than welcome to already know That One English Librarian Guy!
Open/Wanted CR: Gosh, anything. Which is super unhelpful, I know. Someone to engage in petty arch-rival shenanigans with one day would be lovely, and potential future collaborators on his magic/science experimenty things would be great, too! But that's all pretty far off so. Yeah.
Other Info: One day, he will echo back the ability to make magic staffs! You don't have to have any kind of special ability to use them (they're the magical equivalent of guns, I suppose - point and shoot), so he might be able to supply some non-combat-oriented characters with them. He's also skilled at teaching magic and creating his own spells in canon, so again that might be useful for helping beef up other characters' skillsets. He's the magical equivalent of a mad scientist, and he is going to be very interested in finding out how everything works.
Anything Else?: This is basically all you need to know about Neloth. CW: potential eye-related squick (though it's played for laughs? Better safe than sorry, though).

Has been running a fairly popular local news blog for several years now. A smart and friendly guy, but doesn't have much time for people or things that don't hold his interest. Formerly an immortal amnesiac mage with a very complicated past.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Relatives, friends, people who read his blog? I'm open for pretty much anything.
Open/Wanted CR: ALSO ANYTHING, wow I'm being so helpful and specific.
Other Info: Over time he'll start echoing back his ridiculous number of scars. Eventually there will be so many that he'll be easily mistaken for a zombie. He'll also remember magic and potentially be able to teach it to others?

Calvin Kent | Clark Kent / Kal-El (Man of Steel)
Pre-Incarnation: Man of Steel (2013 film)
Calvin Kent is the center fielder for Locke City's pro baseball team, the Locke City Thunderbolts. By all rights an aloof, easygoing guy most of the time, he's known for a few incidents of particular exuberance on the field, often getting excited during the games and getting into arguments with umpires and opposing players more than once. He's an activist and philanthropist as well, devoting time and money to various causes throughout the city when he's not busy with his obligations to the Thunderbolts.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: As of this writing, Calvin's immediate family is limited to his mother and father. If anybody would be interested in playing one of them, expanding his family somewhat or playing a part of his extended family, I'd be very interested in discussing it! What I'd be really, really interested in is if anybody would want to play one of his teammates on the Thunderbolts. If that sounds appealing to you, please hit me up, 'cause I'd love to make it happen.
More obviously, being a pro athlete on a good team and an activist who gets involved in various causes, he's a prominent figure throughout the city and virtually anybody would be well within their rights to recognize who he is. He likes to meet fans, sign autographs, talk to people on Twitter, etc., so having met him or talked to him is totally possible too.
Open/Wanted CR: Nothing too specific, which I understand is probably about as helpful as a shot to the chops. As might be obvious, I'm somewhat fond of the sport of baseball so anything in and around that whole sphere would be quite fun, but really, I'm open to lots of stuff.
Other Info: He is, if that wasn't obvious, Superman. I don't really have any plans in mind for how Superman-y he's going to become or how quickly. For the moment, my intention is to just play it by ear. If and when he does become all Superman-y, he'll obviously be all about Truth, Justice, The American Way, etc. and protecting people. For the immediate future, the Thunderbolts are in the offseason so Calvin's basically on vacation until next spring.
This is a particularly long way of saying that I don't have any big plans regarding what I wanna play or how I'm gonna do my Echoes and I'm mostly just gonna be winging it until I think of something.

Yoko Aznable | Yoko Usami (Go-busters)
Pre-Incarnation: Yoko Usami, Yellow Buster
Yoko is a 16 year old prickly orphan in her canon! She has super-jumping abilities that are offset by an over-busy metabolism that means she has to eat sugar-rich things constantly, or she collapses.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Yoko goes to Locke City Academy! She's been aged up to 17, and she's captain of the tennis club/president of the Key Club (a club centering around volunteer work, for the uninitiated). Her father is robotics genius and engineer Jin Aznable, who works in medical engineering tech. He is a jerk, no one talk to him.
Nah but I'm looking for even passing CR with other high schoolers! She went to public middle school, she travels to other schools for matches, her volunteer work centers around the children's wards at the local hospitals, etc, so any of that's an option!
She's lived in Locke her whole life. She spends some of her spare time at the local specialty pet store I haven't actually named yet, because she keeps a pair of hissing cockroaches.
Anyone who would have anything to do with Jin may or may not have met her, depending on their relationship with Jin himself. Let me know if you're interested!
Open/Wanted CR: Teens... people willing to put up with the attitude problem she'll be developing... older-brother type characters? Her canon one isn't here, just those French douchebags. ):
She's going to be dealing with Echoes of her father dying and having to deal with not knowing if he was her dad in that life, too, and she's likely to need a little help.
Other Info: Yoko is prickly and kind of ~~tsundere at present, and as she receives Echoes she'll be getting pricklier and less childlike, which means she's definitely going to attract some negative CR! I'm willing to work with that. That said, she's not a bad person by any means, and she can be very kind. Just... rude.
Anything Else?: I can't wait until she gets enough Echoes to kick Cain in his face, not sorry Zero.

TOM | Toonami
Pre-Incarnation: TOM (Toonami Operations Module)
Tom is a twenty-nine-year-old communications specialist and serious DIY enthusiast who in recent months has taken to a massive project - a small network of antennas and low-power transmitters across the city to broadcast the Radio Free Locke pirate radio show. Its main mission is to act against Thunder Corp and the police--and after Tom's first Echo, it's picking up a lot of traction.
Sick beats, information on Thunder Corp's activities that the network picks up (spun in a way that wouldn't endanger anyone), uncensored call-ins, interviews, and a strong internet presence (each show is simulcast online) have helped things along, all with "DJ Welles" as host.
In his past life he was TOM, the robot host of Toonami and the captain of the Ghost Planet Spaceship Absolution, in charge of bringing audiences inspirational messages and kickass action cartoons.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Tom went to LCU, and he's likely been well-established in local tech enthusiast circles of various kinds for a while. As for knowing him as DJ Welles, that's entirely open. Maybe even helpers on the show? I also have no plans whatsoever for his family, so that's absolutely up in the air if anyone wants to be a cousin or something.
Open/Wanted CR: Oh god, anything and everything. Other tech and communications people, other former robots or space travelers, basically anyone on the Network. He's going to have an incredible amount of respect for people who've been taking a proactive role so far. Also anyone from things he's canonly familiar with (unfortunately kind of a long list) assuming people are...cool with that.
Other Info: He's gonna be turning into a robot, and eventually getting back a huge starship or three equipped with fighters, robotic drones, communication equipment, etc etc. If the setting ever leaves Earth, people can be ready.

Roan Casey \ Reno (Final Fantasy VII)
Pre-Incarnation: Reno
Roan is a twenty-something pyrotechnician working at the local tv studio. He's cheerful, friendly, speaks with a light Chicagoan accent and has a habit of getting himself into trouble. In a past life, he was an intelligence agent, called Turks, working for the most powerful government on his planet.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Roan has a little sister about ten years old, a ma and a pop who he brought with him to Locke City from Chicago when he got enough money. His pop is disabled, and he's helping to put his little sis through private school. His boss at the TV studio gets on his case a lot for his attitude but can't fault his work. Um open to anything else! Toss suggestions my way!
Open/Wanted CR: Roan's into sports on a casual level (by that I mean he doesn't think of dream teams or anything like that) but he'd love a couple buddies to go watch games with him, like baseball or racing. He plays backyard football, too, so he wouldn't mind getting dragged along to a neighborhood game. I'm thinking maybe a couple of ex-girlfriends to
harassannoy him about straightening up his life, that would be fun.Other Info: Well, I'm sort of torn whether to have a personality trait be his first echo or have him remember what Mako Eyes are just to annoy Cloud. Eventually I'm hoping for him to regain his sneaky Turk abilities back.

Jackson Isaka | Isaka / Peacock Undead (Kamen Rider Blade)
Pre-Incarnation: Isaka / Peacock Undead
Jack is a 30 year old stockbroker who works too much, drinks too much, and is slowly starting to realize that he's shallow and boring and ought to try and improve himself somehow. He used to be a horrible bird-monster-thing with mind control powers that ruined more than a few people's lives.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Jack works at a fairly large brokerage firm, so there's possible co-worker CR there. He's been on more than a few one-time dates set up via Internet dating, so maybe there's someone out there who went out with him, found him dull and/or unpleasant, and quickly broke it off. He's also a cousin of Hajime Aikawa's (known giant bugman), so there are those family ties to play on as well.
Open/Wanted CR: All kinds of CR is welcome! On the more human side of things, I'm hoping to find people that will drag him into new hobbies or activities that he might have otherwise avoided. On the Echo-y side of things, CR with other folk who may have been evil or are turning into weird things would be super-cool.
Other Info: Jack doesn't think that he's all that bad of a person, but he's a snob and not hugely empathetic. I'm hoping that enough weird stuff will wear down his rougher edges, possibly. His first echoes will be small (planning on having him get knowledge of the Undead language as his initial one), but he'll eventually have a period of time where he's stuck as a seven foot tall peacock monster. Fun!
