does the role ever get exhausting?

Least favorite part has to be the extremes in his emotion. It can be pretty exhausting, getting up that much anger! Especially since a lot of my previous roles have been all the nicer types, so it's still a bit new.

Favorite's a bit harder to pin down, since I think a lot of it is all in everything going on with the rest of the cast. He gets pretty heavily involved in things, so I get to spend a lot of time working with all these other great actors. It's really energizing and I think it's helping me grow quite a lot as an actor, especially since we have such a huge cast with so many different people. It's pretty amazing, just being part of something like this!

Thankfully, his transformation process should hopefully be gradual enough that I'll have time to slowly get used to increasing levels of makeup. Like, right now, all they do is add in the vocal effect for his voice post-production. But, who knows? When the time comes, they might decide to make Gerald completely CGI.

Little bit of both, actually. Most of the shots are done with an actual suit, but they use CGI to enhance it here and there.

And let me tell you, that suit smells awful. We have more than one suit and a few stuntguys who wear them during fight scenes and things, but if it's not an action scene? That's really me in the suit.

It depends on how cooperative Cookie and Doughnut feel at any given time. Both girls have their strengths and weaknesses, and we usually need to schedule one or the other for different tasks so we can get the most out of the time we have. And even if we do have the right sister for the job, it does depend on how well they hit their marks and behave. Sometimes we can have a scene done in a half hour, and sometimes it can grind into two to three hours of them being themselves. Very stubbornly. [ She laughs. ] That's about when we take a break and weigh options.
