A last round of the CR/Plotting Meme for Season 1 - gear up further for the finale and/or breather and/or entrance into Season 2! And, of course, no end of more general purposes.

As always, the meme's open for making arrangements with and between not only current but potential characters in StE; there will be a header under which to comment with potential characters - when doing so, please label with characters' reincarnated names (if decided!) and pre-incarnated names and canons in the comments' subject lines.

Character: Rin Okamura, SON OF SATAN AND (not quite) EXORCIST EXTRAORDINARE!
Pre-Incarnation: Rin Okamura, HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT YEAH. Master of ODD JOBS!

Because what Bat needs is another cooking shounen, right? Whereas Shiro is more focused on baking, Rin is all about traditional Japanese cuisine. He's actually from Japan! WOW! MORE JAPANESE PEOPLE! But he lives in SoCal now. But not for much longer! This high school dropout turned chef is totally enthralled with superheroes and the idea that WOW THEY MIGHT BE REAL??? THEY"RE TOTALLY REAL! And he's going to Locke City to check it out. Little does he know he'd be tossed right in. His first echo will probably be Kurikara. And then he'll unsheathe it and get ANOTHER goddamn echo geez kid. Also debating making him raised Christian. Just for mindfuck later. Having a straight up shounen protag might also help me push Shiro in a more morally grey direction since Rin can fill the HERO!! niche.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Holding out for a Yukio as a brother! Otherwise his parents and possibly other siblings. But since he's from out of town, there's not much room here. But I'm always willing to listen to ideas! POSSIBLY Sam as his first cousin.

Open/Wanted CR: Another dumb kid on the network, SAY IT AIN'T SO. He'll make friends with all your dumb kids. All of them. And your adults. And your talking animals. Rin is a friendly guy and as a comics nerd he'll be very interested in anyone with super powers.

But lets be real should we do this relation thing? One thing to keep in mind is that Sam is very definitely not Japanese. I never decided exactly what he was, but probably German or British Isles.

No Japanese in him at all? That might not work then cause I was planning on having Rin be full Japanese.

Well I mean it's never actually come up and been nailed down, so retcon is always an option. It would take some compromise, but say Sam's mom is half japanese. So then Sam has a European dad and is 3/4ths, but Rin has a Japanese dad (And his mom is Sam's mom's sister.) so he's 3/4ths the other way.

Or we could just throw it all out and just develop CR the normal way. Also an option.

MAYBE their moms are sisters and both half Japanese. And instead of marrying a European guy, Rin's mom married a Japanese guy. That would work! AND THEN THEY'D BE FIRST COUSINS. I can work with that

Sounds good. So Rin is mostly Japanese and Sam is mostly European.

I wonder if this means Sam speaks some Japanese...nah.

Yeah maybe a few phrases here and there but certainly not fluent/able to read it unless that was something his mom pushed.

Rin, meanwhile, learned English at home and in school but sucks at it. A lot. SO BAD AT ENGLISH. He understands it pretty well, and reads... at probably a sixth grade level... but speaking it is gonna be funny. Heavy accent, lots of "nanidesu ka.... DX"
