Canonically she's an only child who ran away from home to live in the woods. But that's a bit harder to do in modern day USA, so reincarnated Marisa lives with her mother. They just moved to Locke City from Bumfuq Texas because Marisa's mom just went through an ugly divorce and has a sister who lives here. So that leaves room potentially for an aunt and maybe a cousin or two of a teenage witch from Texas.
