Wow well Jasmine just sort of crept up on her before she even realized it. It was nice having someone else who could have a huge snarky attitude about damn near everything that goes on, especially when Marina was starting to befriend Lily too, and for a while that's pretty much all it was. At some point before Jasmine confessed though she started to really care about the people she was getting along with, and the fact that she was getting along with so many people she wouldn't have before, and Jasmine was one of the most fun of all those.

Then she confessed and freaked Marina out for a few weeks, but it also got her to realize she was deeply in denial about her orientation when she realized that the thought of it was pretty great! Now hormones have her clinging to Jasmine, and a lot of it is still just friendship + infatuation the way teenagers do it, but she cares deeply about how well Jasmine's doing, and in turn wants to be a better person for her.
