Misato is terrified (OKAY MAYBE NOT TERRIFIED, BUT SHE'S DEFINITELY NOT PREPARED) that she might actually be this kid's stepmom or have some sort of weird relationship with him. A part of the reason why she's so gung-ho about him and Rei coming over is that she's hoping to trigger some Echoes so she can get confirmation either way.

OTHER THAN THAT, he seems like a pretty sweet kid. A little shy, maybe, but sweet. And considering how many smart-ass teenagers she'd had to deal with on the network so far, well.
