Anyway, this is a random scenario test drive meem, since we've had an influx of new potential appers. I am a bit too lazy to make this a proper meem, so you make your own shit up. Here's some inspirational scenarios:

I do appreciate the concern, but believe you me, it takes more that some stumbling perceived by others to break me down.

however, Hikari is nothing if not ready to adapt to a situation. her face quickly morphs into an expression of befuddlement as she replies, continuing to speak in Japanese]

[She does smile a little, trying not to look like she feels like she might just die of embarrassment. Here she is, meeting an amazing author she's always loved, and she sounds like she's monosyllabic.

So she winds up with an equally embarrassing babble a moment later:]

[she smiles beatifically, pulling her skirt out in a small curtsy with the hand that isn't holding onto her parasol. the second comment is obviously a thinly veiled dig at the hideously clashing nature of Bro's own outfit, but her face never ceases looking pleasant]

Once you find yourself a stranger in a completely different country, it's rather easy to empathize with awkward individuals. America is wonderful for that.

[and once again the cheerful surface belies more jabs at both Mac and the entire country. this conversation gone on longer than Hikari had thought it would, but she can't say that it's an annoyance; she's enjoying continually locking the boy into this pretend pleasantry, and is looking forward to the moment when he can't take it any longer]

All the same, it's reassuring to know this is your natural state.

[Well, the park was nice and peaceful and quiet for the most part.

But off in her own little corner in the shade is one woman sparring by herself. Maybe it's a bit odd to see someone through punches and kicks at the air, but Kerrigan's regular sparring partner called in sick. So what's an Olympic Taekwondo contender supposed to do?

Probably attract attention to herself by practicing in the park. But hey, she's not about to waste a perfectly nice day by being cooped up indoors.]

[FUCK THE RAIN. VIV DOES WHAT SHE WANTS.

Which means that even though it's raining cats and dogs, Vivian is out on the track at the high school. Okay yeah, this is stupid. Stupid as hell, but she really doesn't mind the rain at all.]

[Lenore Cooper's a quiet and very alert older woman. She has a prosthetic right hand, one of those dual hook models which can open and close.]

[1. She's at the mall, ignoring how out of place she is and the entreaties of salespeople, on a bench reading a hardback book as she waits for her boy to finish whatever he's so interested in. Doesn't seem to like the book much, though, she's just closed it with her right.]

[2. In the park in sweats, keeping up a good pace until she stops suddenly, tracking something in the trees.]

[Peaceful, sure. A good place to go to read, or to walk, or to otherwise be away from people. Except for the whole fighting-the-air thing. Claire is... okay, she's kind of fascinated.

So she's half-hidden behind a tree, her long hair loose and a scarf wrapped around her neck, even though it's not terribly cold out. It's just pretty, okay? But she's kind of staring at Kerrigan, even though that's probably kind of rude. She's just hoping she won't get noticed.]

[There's a dark-haired girl, college-aged, swathed in a bulky sweater and scarf despite being inside, but they're both lightweight so she's not terribly warm. She's leaning close to the snake statue, apparently trying to make out what it's made of. Or maybe why it's making her think about some company she's never heard of.

She kind of stands out against the backdrop of fancy people with smiles on their faces, but she also doesn't seem to care too much.]

[Marisol is out because her mother and brother are arguing about money again and she can't do her homework with the noise. The park is always nice. Sometimes people will share bread to feed the birds with. She clutches her secondhand schoolbook in her arms, looking for a free bench.]

[there's a woman nearby, out for a run, which isn't unusual, but her hand catches the girl's attention. She can't help staring; she's only eleven and not self-aware enough to know better.]

[Odette is here to pick up her younger brother, carrying two umbrellas. But this is a strange sight; a lot of dedication for something no one gets paid for. Maybe there's a meet coming up? She stops and watches despite herself, careful not to lean on the wet fence.]

[ Parks are for picnics and camping, everybody knows that, and that's exactly what Horace means to use it for. He's a scruffy guy in his thirties, in need of a shave and a much better shirt than the red tartan he's currently wearing. While his kid is off rolling in the dust with some friends under the watchful eye of Horace's older brother, Horace himself is setting up the picnic blanket and tent.

That's when two things happen: one, something weird catches the corner of his eyes. Two, while trying to see what it was, a sudden gust of wind catches the assembled-but-not-tied-down tent and makes off with it.

There is now a large red tent tumbling down the shallow incline of a hill towards Lenore.

It only takes a moment for Horace to catch on and run after it. ]

Woah woah WOAH LOOK OUT LOOK OUT!

[technically Shou was not a fan of sweets. he liked his spicy foods, he loved his salt, and he really dug bitter greens. but here he was, sitting in the only chair in the whole place with a cream puff in hand. He took a measured bite, chewed slowly and then chased it down with a coffee while watching Rami eat through another plateful of sweets.]

That bad of a day?

[he has a Japanese accent and a deep voice that doesn't exactly seem right with his very girlish appearance.]

[it's a lovely day - the sun was shining, the birds were singing and the children were playing in the park. There were clusters of parents chatting, people feeding pigeons, and a few joggers running along the tracks. It seemed rather peaceful, however a storm was brewing in the form of a young girl by the name of Kitiara Lee. The skinny girl in her cutoffs and over-sized shirt was standing in the center of a circle of older kids, a couple kids near her age hiding behind her. It looked like the three pre-teens had been building something until the older kids came along and smashed it.]

[yes, she just yelled something in Klingon.and when the older kids look at her, she picked up a handful of rocks and starts throwing them. maybe one of the rocks just hit you, or maybe you were attracted by the noise since Kitiara hasn't stopped yelling in Klingon since her attack began.

also those kids? most of them are trying to get away from her all of the sudden.]

[Hugo is in much of the same boat there, he stands out by not being as fancily dressed, though he did at least make an effort with a nice pair of pants and a good shirt and even put on a tie! Okay, so his tie has some goofy design on it and was a gag gift from one of his friends, but it's an effort.

He'll walk up to the girl, because likely she's going to be sane and not gushing over the ugly statues.]

Please tell me you're sane and really wonder what the appeal in these things is?

[Claire gives a startled little jump, and then flushes in embarrassment for doing so. She pushes back her hair a little, enough that he can at least see her face-- and the hollow, circular mark on her forehead which, perhaps surprisingly, doesn't look like the ones connected to actual religions-- and stammers,]

Well-- they're not-- I mean, they're kind of awful, aren't they? I mean-- unless you like them. Everyone else seems to.

[She just finds them grotesque, personally, but she doesn't want to offend.]
