[TEST] DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT

I HONESTLY COULDN'T THINK OF A GOOD PICTURE SO THANKS LAVVY

Here, have the slightly more relevant song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_nLlL1mwKI

Anyway, this is a random scenario test drive meem, since we've had an influx of new potential appers. I am a bit too lazy to make this a proper meem, so you make your own shit up. Here's some inspirational scenarios:

> The Mall. The hell are you doing out in the suburbs, bro? And why is that woman trying so hard to sell you nail polish?
> The Park. MAN IT IS A NICE D-- shit is that a Vermicelli or whatever the monsters are called?
> Arts & Crafts Fair. Cute knit cat cozies! Bad pretzels! YEAH.
> Rainy Day. It's wet and you're stuck at the bus stop. HOW DEGRADING.
> You get an echo while someone else is around. SHIT. PARANOIA TIME.

Or make up your own!

You have a point! [Stated in an oddly decisive fashion.]

Ooh. [She is a come-and-go cat, then, anyhow - she'll come back herself! Norah tilts her head the other way.] Do you call her a name?
Edited (Bah HTML!) 2013-06-10 05:50 (UTC)
mrsandalhat: (Oh my goodness~)

[personal profile] mrsandalhat 2013-06-10 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
I am speaking from personal experience...

[He shrugs at the mention of a name for the cat.]

I call her Nox. Not very creative, but I figure if at any time she wants to hang around me a bit more she'll let me know what she wants to be called.

You don't have a furry companion of your own?

Ah, I guess that's true. [He definitely hadn't thought about that at all so now he definitely looked like he was feeling a bit awkward.] It's not because of anything bad, though! Actually, it's kind of silly...
butterfly_kindnesses: (oh um)

Of course, Mistress.

[personal profile] butterfly_kindnesses 2013-06-10 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[OOC: Good thought. And even if I do need a bit more breadth than that, that's what Google is for, yes?]

[Oh, good, she's not hurt. Sarah would be horrified to be a witness to serious injury.]

Oh. All right.

[Awkwardness, ho! She doesn't want to just run off at this point, but she also doesn't want - or really know how - to keep socializing.

It is entirely possible that Vanessa might notice some odd coloration in Sarah's hair, as though a dye job is growing out - but this looks like pink hair dyed brown, rather than the reverse.]
roadstotheriver: (me-sweet)

[personal profile] roadstotheriver 2013-06-10 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[She took this one and savored it a bit longer. Then she nodded and offered him a little grin.]

I think I'll have that one. If that's all right. With-- um. Marshmallows? And-- can I have two mix-ins?

[Because Marble Slab is obviously the same thing as Coldstone, right? Right.]
doomedtheworld: (Careful)

Probably better not to call her that in an AU.

[personal profile] doomedtheworld 2013-06-10 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[OOC: Yep, nothing that can't be handled with a little Google-fu. If you want to put up a test post for him go ahead and link me to it and I'll happily return the favor.]

[Awkward silence is a go! Vanessa isn't all that interested in hanging around getting to know this girl either but she doesn't want to take off just yet. Not until she figures out if she has to worry about her talking to the wrong person. Vanessa wanted to stay as incognito as possible.]

[Didn't look like it, the way this girl seemed almost petrified at just having a conversation. Might as well test the waters.]

Nice hair.

[It was different, that much was at least true. Vanessa tended to keep her own hair short and its regular dark color but she had seen all kinds of dye jobs in her life. She hadn't seen someone who started at the roots though.]
butterfly_kindnesses: (oh um)

Picky details. We should get a re!TenSoon, and carefully engineer their memory Echoes...

[personal profile] butterfly_kindnesses 2013-06-11 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
[OOC: Will do! ...eventually. I want to at least finish this canon review first, and maybe do another. I haven't got him talking to me in words yet, which makes RPing harder - though not impossible.]

[Panic! Is it showing already? Has she waited too long? If people start noticing, who knows what kind of attention she might attract? Okay, better play it cool for now.]

Um, thanks?

[Sarah, you fail at playing it cool.]
doomedtheworld: (Listening)

So would that mean his Echoes would cause his skeleton to fall out? O_o

[personal profile] doomedtheworld 2013-06-11 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
[OOC: Yeah, I understand completely. Consider me on standby.]

Sure.

[More awkward silence. Not that Vanessa was really helping with that but that very clear flash of panic at least suggests that this girl isn't a scheming mastermind of some sort. Still, it didn't look like she was going to ask exactly how Vanessa came to be in the sky in the first place and Vanessa certainly wasn't about to offer that information.]

[Even more than the silence there was that weird feeling of being way taller than somebody who had a foot of height on her.]

You don't talk much, do you?

[personal profile] reswarm 2013-06-11 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Kerrigan's own ponytail is bounding along behind her, swaying as she moves. She's starting to get that sensation of someone watching her, a feeling she's practically used to since she's watched by a lot of people in the gym. But out here, she doesn't know anyone that would just randomly be in the park. No one from training anyways.

She finishes off her last set of attacks and slows herself down into a stance, trying to shrug off that being-watched feeling. It's a good time to take a rest, get a drink and wipe the sweat off her brow, which she promptly does.

It's just too bad for Claire that Kerrigan's stuff happens to be near that tree she's hiding behind.]
butterfly_kindnesses: (Default)

Probably, yes. Eww.

[personal profile] butterfly_kindnesses 2013-06-11 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I, um... not really.

[If she talks, you see, people might notice her.

...Yeah. Not a very well-adjusted girl, this one.]
doomedtheworld: (Default)

I love it.

[personal profile] doomedtheworld 2013-06-11 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[No kidding. At least she can be fairly confident that she isn't going to run down the street screaming about people falling from the sky.]

That's fine, neither do I.

[Another awkward silence, and she clears her throat a little and shoves her hands into her jacket pockets.]

So, nice... meeting you?
roadstotheriver: (PB-startled)

[personal profile] roadstotheriver 2013-06-12 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, that's probably... a problem. Claire ducks back behind the tree when she realizes Kerrigan is coming her way, back to the bark and hands on the tree trunk behind her. She even holds her breath, listening hard for the sound of Kerrigan's footsteps. Hoping that maybe she'd turn aside or stop before she got to Claire's tree.

Unbeknownst to her, one hand is still visible.]
peacefulwinter: (I didn't think of that.)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-12 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
[As she gets closer and closer to the front of the line, Winter starts to fidget more and more; her grip tightens on the book in her hands, before she notices and loosens up. It wouldn't do to crush the thing before Ms. Aaronson signs it, after all, especially since it'd lasted this long, even through repeated re-readings. This cycle repeats several times, until she's suddenly at the front of the line, and with a startled 'eep' she tilts her head down, bangs obscuring her eyes a little as she steps forward stiffly.]

H-h-hello...!
peacefulwinter: (Truly?)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-12 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
[And standing out in the rain, under a bright blue umbrella, is a dark-haired girl with a concerned expression. In an effort to make sure she's heard over the rain, she calls a little louder than her usual quiet insistence:]

A-are you sure it's a good day for this?
orgiamode: (₪ Hopeless and taken)

[personal profile] orgiamode 2013-06-12 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[For the past couple of laps, she has been noticing the blue umbrella in the corner of her eye, but otherwise hasn't really wondered why she's here.

Being asked that though, she jogs back over to the fence.]

Why not? It can be useful training on a different terrain. [Even though it's just wet.] And the rain keeps me cool.

(Your character is taking a walk through the park to relax after a long day. It is a rather calming experience. Just something about the park today seems rather soothing. After a bit, you come upon a a small girl no older than eight with pink hair and eerie yellow eyes playing with some seeds. Next to her stands a rather large black wolf that seems to survey the area, like a knight does while protecting a princess. The girl drops some seeds into the ground and covers them before laying her hands on the spot and dawning a look of concentration. Her hands glow a beautiful white for a few seconds before she stops looking exhausted. As she moves her hands you see there are now three flowers that look like they just bloomed. She beams.)

I did it! Crixus lookie lookie!

(The wolf turns and seems to smirk before a gruff voice comes out.)

It seems you're finally getting it Tina. Though I still don't see the point in such a power.
peacefulwinter: (I don't understand...!)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-16 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Winter is, in fact, sitting on a park bench with a book, as is her norm; she's got an odd blue plushie cradled in one arm. The young girl's voice pulls her out of her book, though, and she sticks a bookmark in her book before turning her attention to her. Aaaand the wolf next to her. The... oddly docile wolf? In any event, she watches the seeds go into the ground and smiles... and then her mouth falls open in disbelief when they bloom into flowers, leaving her book behind and moving over to look more closely, paying Crixus no heed for the moment.]

W-wha... but... that's impossible...!
marblephantom: (Eva Confuzzled)

[personal profile] marblephantom 2013-06-16 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? What is impossible? You're weird lady.

I think she was shocked by your power...Or maybe it has to do with your hair color. I'm not quite sure.

Well that's not very nice. I like my hair. But if it was me growing the flowers that surprised you then it is possible. I just did it after all.

(Tina gently removes one of the flowers and hands it to Winter.)
Edited 2013-06-16 02:14 (UTC)
peacefulwinter: (I'm sorry?)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-16 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
[It's only now that Winter registers the fact that the wolf talks, and she automatically takes half a step back.]

W-w-wait, it talks!? [But she shakes her head hard.]

Um... anyway. It's not your hair, that's pretty. But... the flowers... that's... I'm not sure exactly how long it takes, but most of the time it's longer than that. [She's fishing for words. And to not make the wolf mad, too, but mostly for words.]
marblephantom: (Umbra's Wisdom)

[personal profile] marblephantom 2013-06-16 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
(Crixus takes one step towards Winter with a slight look of annoyance.)

Oi! I'm a he. Not an it. And as for Tina's ability, she seems to have a...How do you put it? 'Green Pinkie' so she makes plants and such grow fast. If you ask me, its' only use is that it attracts a lot of food once in a while.

I can grow a lot of different kinds of flowers too! I can grow red ones, green ones, I even grew a tiny tree once! It was really hard though and I had to take a long nap after I did.
peacefulwinter: (I have reservations about this...)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-16 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Is there a tree nearby? Because that's where Winter is immediately going to run and hide, after letting out a small 'eep!' of panic.]

I-I-I'm sorry, I won't d-do it again! A-and I think you mean a "green thumb" for her ability.

[She leans out from behind the tree a little.] T-that sounds kind of neat... um, but should you be using it if it makes you tired?
marblephantom: (Default)

[personal profile] marblephantom 2013-06-16 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
(Crixus smirks a little and gives a bit of a mocking laugh at seeing the flustered Winter.)

Good. I'll hold you to that.

(Tina runs up and around the tree to look at Winter.)

I use it because it's fun! I like seeing plants grow but they just grow so slow. I don't know how I do it though. I think it's magic! Like from the storybooks! Do you like storybooks too? What's your favorite one?
Edited 2013-06-16 02:48 (UTC)
peacefulwinter: (I'm fine with that.)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Stepping out gingerly from behind the tree, she gives a series of sharp, short nods to Crixus, before turning to the girl and kneeling down to her eye level.]

Magic, huh...? I haven't heard of a power like that before. I like it, though! [Better than some of the other things she's seen power used for.]

I don't read storybooks too often, but... there is... [Winter pauses, a strange feeling coming over her, and her heart racing. A moment later, she seems to start to come back to herself.] ...there is one. It's a story about a prince that works really hard to help other people. But he meets a swallow, and the swallow asks him if he's remembering to help himself. And then the swallow decides to help him not work too hard, and they become very close friends.

I'm making it a little short, but... it's a story I like. I'm probably not telling it very well, though. ['Wait, but... have I read a story like that? Is this...?']
marblephantom: (Eva Plushie)

[personal profile] marblephantom 2013-06-16 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
(Eva listens closely to Winter's little story and smiles gently.)

It was short but I liked it. I haven't really read many stories. I tried to go to that place that has all the books. I think it was called the 'liberry'. I only got to read two before Crixus bit the liberryian.

(Crixus shrugs with a look that tells Winter he feels no shame in biting the woman.)

She thought I had rabies and was threatening to put me in the pound. I've been there once. Never again.
peacefulwinter: (I think that's an excellent idea.)

[personal profile] peacefulwinter 2013-06-16 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
[Despite herself, Winter finds herself relaxing a little more, and genuinely smiling at Tina. She has a little bit of a headache, though.]

That sounds like it was... hard to deal with. Um, would it be better for Crixus to wait outside, then? Or... is that a bad idea?
