SAVE THE EARTH is a world tragically devoid of some of our most beloved works of fiction! (good thing too, otherwise reincarnates would be even more fucked up!) Or rather, they exist until someone apps from them, at which point they retroactively don't. But don't feel too bad for this Earth's inhabitants - just as no niche in nature is left open long before life fills it, other, similar fiction has taken the places of the canons we know!

Okay, so since we're all playing modern AUs most of them are familiar with pop culture, right? But since some are off-limits, we've got to get creative. Comment with a little about the expy - or expies, maybe there's more than one - of your character's canon. Or other canons. It can be more or less similar, by the same or different authors, have suspiciously similar titles or anything else! Be as straightforwards or detailed as you wish.

The expy for Disney was the Eared Empire, which is currently ruled over by the Rabbit Prince, Oswalt. His father, Walter, is actually still alive, hence why he's still a Prince, but the elder Emperor is pretty much comatose, hence, the rule of the Kingdom falls to the Prince. Or... well, sort of, except the Prince has absconded because he found one of the Starheart Keys, also because ruling is boring. So instead the Prince's wife, Rosalind, is in charge.

re: the BBS crew, I'm not sure yet. I actually do think that Geo and Cirrus (?????) proooobably do end up screwed, but Cirrus is at least mobile, but he's probably like Mytho in Princess Tutu, a walking zombie guy. Geo falls prey to his own arrogance for sure, but I think less in a bodysurfing way and more in a mind-controlled Dragon type of way (kind of merging Terra and Isa, really)

Mare (pronounced like the word for ocean) (I guess??? UNLESS YOU HAVE A BETTER NAME) doesn't get punted to the realm of Darkness, but does end up wandering the galaxy with Cirrus in tow, which leads into the Second Cycle, which is Skye, Landis, and Oceana's adventures.

Oceana/Kairi has a wayyyyy more active role, because female author. For the same reason, the gender balance in Org XIII is a lot more reasonable

He could. He's got a huge apartment with an open floor plan and a lot of oddities and space for just chilling out in. People can look at his bizarre thing for skulls, collections of religious texts and manga, and even his huge tv.

I think I've finally figured it out!

There's an equivalent show to Warehouse 13 - riding off the steampunk craze. (There was actually some talk of doing a spinoff set in Victorian England anyway, but I'm not sure how likely that is unless Jaime Murray leaves Defiance, at this point... but that's another story.)

In this show, the genderswapped author (because you need one) is Jules Verne. It's a little more Steampunk Detective Show than anything else, but there's a little supernatural weird in the background of it.

Just gonna throw this out there for Fringe fans to giggle at: Batman has been replaced with The Mantis. He saw a mantis crawling nearby when his parents were killed. Tortured, a billionaire playboy dresses up as a Mantis at night and fights crime

Animorphs is now Formshifters! In a TV show with rather bad special effects, four teenagers find a magical stone disk that gives them shapeshifting powers (shown onscreen as little as possible), which they use to fight evil centipedes from an alternate dimension! Who have a mind-control laser! By... turning into whatever the budget can handle. It had a short run in the early 90s, and now enjoys a cult following, which occasionally clamors online for a reboot or remake.
