[ the rain's made everything slick, and normally that wouldn't be an issue, if it weren't for the fact the rain came out of nowhere, unannounced. she's not dressed for it. or, at the least, she'd have brought an umbrella. wore a different pair of shoes.
as it stands, her bad luck seems to have persisted as she hobbles over to the side of a building to press a hand to it, taking refuge from the sudden downpour under a deceptively cheerful awning. she lifts her foot up, inspecting the damage. she'd felt the heel give a little when she stepped out of work, the entry of the Locke City Library already running with water by the time she'd clocked out. reilanin had only gotten a block or two away before another slip had her one heel short and the other ankle sore, just barely catching herself before she faceplanted.
not usually easily flustered, the combination of a broken shoe and a drenched everything else is the perfect recipe for angry mutterings as she finishes up checking the bottom of her shoe and considering her options. maybe she should just give up and get a taxi. she hated to waste the money but she almost didn't care now. ]
