IT'S SPRING
I almost literally can't believe it isn't snowing right now just to piss me off.

How it Works
Due to the nature of Save the Earth, it's a more complicated process to play in than most other games. With this in mind, it can't hurt to experiment a little.

Post your character and in the comment share a few details regarding their reincarnation. Repeat if you have multiple ideas you want to try out, as many as you like. It's also suggested that you set a scene and there's a few prompts below to help there, but think outside the box if you like. Then tag around to other threads and help your fellow prospective players to test out their characters and the variations on them. Don't be afraid to presume a little CR to make a scene flow more freely, or to assume an Echo or two. If you have an app, complete or in progress, you might want to link it.

Current players may also use these meme to test out specific future Echoes, or as a general meme. Certain scenarios may even be transferred to game canon if both parties agree and it does not conflict with in game events.

Oh man, this is the worst location prompt ever. I apologise.

Prompt 2: Event
Suddenly, Rain
And here's you in just a white shirt and short shorts.
A Public Echo
One of those places up there triggers an inexplicable Echo. Are you going to have to grab a hat to hide those new horns? Maybe it's even your first.
A Date
I hear nice weather gets people in the mood for romance. I'm against it, personally.
Here on Business
Mysterious goings on have been detected in the area and it's your job to check them out. Some suggested shenanigans could include plants that try to eat people, a red herring new statue or maybe this thing popping out from behind a bush to play a saxophone in an irritating manner. Go nuts.
Getting Used to a New Echo
Maybe this one is a pain in the butt, either if because it's noticeable or hard to control. Or maybe you just like to practice.
Everything is Normal
Things aren't bizarre 24/7, you know.
Alien Invasion
The Martians* are attacking! They want our brains/world/women/hot dogs. Take these freaks out... or cower in terror.

*Martians are not actual Save the Earth villains.

[ooc: Lucy Lyesmith is a young lady in her twenties who desperately wants to break into show business. Or singing, or reality shows, or anything that will make her famous. Unfortunately, she has zero star potential and only mediocre talent, on top of horrendous luck. She's got a small job as a stagehand in Locke City's biggest movie studio, and still dreams of being in the pictures one day.]

[A: Ice cream]

[It's not that Lucy doesn't care about ~keeping her figure~. She wants to keep it very much. But she also has poor impulse control, which is why she's sitting at one of those cute little outdoor tables with stripy umbrellas, wolfing down a monstrous brownie sundae. And loving every second of it.]

[B: Sudden rain]

[Lucy really should have gone back for an umbrella when she heard the thunder, but really, it was only ten more minutes to the bus stop, and if she missed this bus, she was going to be late. Surely she could make it --

....nope. Now her clothes are soaked through, her hair a sopping mess, and her shoes need to be bailed out. Squish, squish, squish. Lucy trudges miserably through the rain and puddles, her bag held uselessly above her head. Will you help her out, or let her suffer until she reaches the bus stop?

When she gets there, she ducks under the small shelter and immediately takes off her shoes, shaking the water out of them as best she can, glaring death at the wet world outside.]

Hanging around the boardwalk-- particularly the ice cream shop and the hot dog place right next door-- is a great way to get food. Well, it is when you're a stray cat. And really a lot smarter than you look. And you know how to beg.

This particular stray cat is leggy and adolescent-looking, just barely half-grown, and a kind of dingy white with black patches here and there, a very long and skinny tail, and bright green eyes. In another life, he was a wizard; in this one, he's just a strange stray who happens to understand human speech and occasionally spit out a few words in it, himself.

Lucy has ice cream, and is outside, so she's his current target. He saunters up to her and sits himself down right at her feet, just barely out of petting range, and looks up at her with wide, innocent eyes.

[The little boy, darker than his mother and with a head of very curly hair, grins up at him and waves, back, though doesn't speak. Reina snorts, though she does seem to soften a little at the attention given to her baby boy.]

I run into one of us every day. I work with the guy. What's your excuse?

[Apparently being drawn to them. Which she isn't going to go with as a valid reason.]

[Feda likes kids. He's one of those guys who just straight up forgets all inhibitions and becomes a big kid himself whenever he gets the chance to play with them.]

I dunno. In my case, it's usually different people. Not counting the ones at school, naturally, but they aren't in my sort of crowd. I don't wanna say 'geeks' so...

[He gives one of those big smiles that shows he's far from hurtful with the term.]

Nerds.

She peers back down at him, spoon still in her mouth.

"What are you looking at?" she asks darkly. This was her ice cream. If it was begging, this cat had another think coming.

[Jack blinks, surprised and moves closer, forgetting the knife entirely]

You talk...? How can you talk? Are you magic? [She vaguely recalls talking animals in the picture books she'd been able to read in the library once.,/small>]

[wombed]

[She's lost in her thoughts too much to notice Ayden when he first approaches her, but she jumps back, startled, the second he talks. Her grip tightens on the knife, holding it close to her like another child might a teddy bear or security blanket.

Her gaze then drops to the burger and she inches closer, her gaze darting between him and the burger like she's not sure which one she should be focusing on. But when her free hand grabs the burger she jumps back quickly, like she expects Ayden to suddenly lash out at her or change his mind.

...It smells good and she smiles a little at last]

...Thank you. [a quiet mumble and she peeks shyly at him] I can have it? Really really?

The cat flicks his tail a little before curling it around his paws. His ears are a little oversized, making him look even more kittenish, and he isn't giving up quite yet. She might drop something on accident, after all.

He opens his mouth and gave a little, purring, hopeful mew. Yes, indeed he is begging.

[Well, leaving the knife behind is a plus, he supposes. At the approach, though, he sidles a couple steps back of his own.]

Rrrr. Dunno.

[That one came out muddled, but he thinks it gets the point across. He isn't really sure what magic is, after all, so how can he know if he is it? He does know he's different though.]

Yeah, sure. I can get more.

[ He eyes that knife of hers, but he's actually sort of glad she has it. If she tries anything on him, well. He's had worse, and he's sure Dr. Strider would fix him back up again. And there are lots of things lurking in this back alley that should never come across a little girl all on her own. He hunkers down where he's crouching, just watching her for the moment, absently chewing on one nail. ]

[Shawn Minamoto, eighteen-year-old eccentric and jerk, is going to ALL THE LOCATIONS. He attends every one of his classes and wanders the Locke High halls with a deeply self-pleased grin on his face. He passes through the Dead District, takes a quick stop by a junkyard and leaves with a few metal struts poking of his backpack. He drops by the ice cream shop for a snack and makes his way around the park - and he pops into his dad's ramen shop somewhere in his stroll, but tries to keep out of sight.

More than anything, greatly amused, he's putting his new catlike yellow eyes on parade - and trying to put off going home for the day and facing his dad suggesting that there's probably something that should be done about them as long as possible.]

[Sure, Al, bringing your boss to the beach was the best idea ever. Of course, it helped that Mitsuko, Hajime's sister, had been trying to think of ways to cheer him up, and she'd thought Al's cheerful nature made him the ideal candidate to drag along.

So he sat there on a beach towel, scowling out at the sea and anyone who stared at his sister in her bikini for too long.]

The water's probably cold.

Well at least it'll be cold enough to get rid of the heat!

[HEY HAJIME SEE THAT GENKI? THERE'S A LOT OF GENKI. HE WANTS YOU TO COME.]

Come on, boss! The sea's waiting!

You go on ahead. I'll stay here and keep an eye on the ice chest.

[Nope, not moving. Not getting off his towel of grumpiness.]

And I keep telling you, quit calling me boss.

[She pauses and rests her arms on top of her knees, peering at him curiously]

Don't know? Don't know.... [She trails off, disappointed]

Don't you have a home?

[Aww really? He places his hands on his side now.]

It's not like the ice chest's gonna move by itself.

Lucky... [She pouts lightly and unwraps the burger, chewing on it slowly as she tries to think of how to respond[

Um, well... Uh... [Her eyes dart to him, then towards one of the alleys, then back down to the burger]

Mother's busy. Really busy. Locked the door. So I left. [Her voice is a bit muffled around the burger and she swallows. She wonders if he might be a cop--somehow, undercover, mom told her about things like that right? And she quickly adds as if reciting an old script] She's a good mother and works hard and sometimes gets tired and has to take a nap for a while.

[Jack pauses again and nervously takes another bite] Dunno when it'll be unlocked again...

[Emmanuel is out for a walk. To clear his head, mostly--too many strange things have been happening lately, and he's done enough praying already. It doesn't seem to help. The vision he'd had--he'd thought it was a sign, finally, that his determination to keep his faith even when it wavered had finally been rewarded.

[then he'd found the network. And read it all, seen the horrifying footage of that boy being shot. He remembered reading the obituary in the paper, a house fire. There was no way that video could have been faked.]

[He's not even sure if this is supposed to be a test. It's sick, and twisted--and he'd left behind his father's obsession with Calvinistic theology as quickly as he could, for the same reasons.]

[so he doesn't notice the bird at first. There are plenty around, though they tend to be begging for food and being generally obnoxious. He doesn't mind them, though--sometimes he brings bread and lends it to the children playing in the park so they can feed the birds, too.]

[this one is a little different. It seems like it's playing with the newspaper...more catlike behaviour than birdlike. Nothing he can't rationalize yet, though he does stop to watch curiously.]

"No way. This is mine." She takes another bite of it, savoring the not-quite-cooled-yet hot fudge. "Look at you, pretending you won't run off as soon as I give it to you. You're shameless." Lucy huffs. Besides, didn't chocolate make cats sick? She's sure she read that somewhere.

[misgives]

Oh, that's what Father did. But I'm not allowed to go back anymore. Father's happier without me.

[ Ayden only shrugs at that, frowning a little at the thought of Father and the life he had to leave behind. It makes him shiver, as it always does, and he tries not to let himself think about it overly much. Surely Father is happy now with the lady he found. Ayden was probably always such a burden, no matter how hard he tried to please.

Vaguely, he wonders if the little girl's mother really plans on unlocking that door again. ]

...do you wanna stay with me? I can show you the better food places. And safe places to sleep. It's not good out here for people like you.

[wombed]

[She knows her mother is probably happier too, but as she finishes the burger she takes a step back, shying away.]

You're a man... Men are bad. [Men meant mom would lock her out, men meant bruises and yelling. But this one did give her food, and he's spoken kindly to her.

Her knife gives her a sense of calm and she squeezes it again, taking a deep breath.] You won't hurt me?

[misgives]

...Father says I'm bad. I'm probably bad sometimes. [ Bad enough to not be wanted anywhere, not even by Father, no matter how hard he tries. ] But I don't hurt anybody.

[ Ayden mumbles this, looking a little uncomfortable. He pauses for a moment, then finally just lifts up his shirt so that Jack can see his scars. ]

If you don't hurt me, I'll keep you safe.

[ He eyes that knife, giving a shrug. She probably couldn't do too much damage to him with it, at least not by his standards of what real damage is, but he'd still rather not do any bleeding soon. ]

That guy might take it.

[He points at some random guy on the beach, and wait...that guy was actually talking to Mitsuko...and Hajime doesn't like the way he's looking at her.

Good news! He's getting up and off the towel! Bad news! He looks like he's about to try to start something. But Mitsuko doesn't seem interested in the guy, and the guy leaves. But at least Hajime's up! Quick, try to stop him from going back to the towel.]

Or someone might.

[Oh hey boss is up. TIME TO GRAB HIS ARM AND DRAG HIM TO THE SEA!!!]

You're being paranoid, boss! Come on, it's high time you should wash those away!

[He's also going to call Mitsuko over and join them in swimming.]
