[Character Info: App is here. It's VERY LONG, be warned.
Short(ish) version: In canon, he's Joshua Christopher, an "Apostle" with holy healing powers and pretty angel wings that pop up and disappear at will. However, his powers made him very sick, so when given the chance to take a literal deal with the devil to get a pair of demon horns that would make him powerful enough to surpass his illness, he jumped at the chance. But they made him insane. Oooooops! A bit childish, clingy, obsessive and impulsive, but still a kind, generous person that cares about other people underneath it all. After his sister saves him, his guilt drives him to become a member of a demon-fighting clergy for the rest of his life.
Reincarnated, he's Joshua Christopher Simmons, sometimes called "J.C." for short. (I haven't decided yet if he consistently goes by J.C. or if that's a family nickname that he's outgrown and instead has chosen to go by Joshua. You can use whichever you like.) His father was a chaplain in the US Army, so he grew up moving a ton (including a few foreign countries). His mother homeschooled him for some of the time when he was a kid. However, his father has recently retired and since Fall 2012 he's reentered public school as a freshman in Locke High since his mother has rejoined the workforce to help pay the family bills.
He's awkward, geeky, prone to escapism through books and gaming and other forms of media to help soothe his teenaged angst, and has a bit of a reputation as "the pastor's kid" and is occasionally a little overbearing about his religious beliefs, although he seems to mean well.]
Prompt 1: The Pool; Suddenly, Rain [Joshua groans from his spot at a picnic table underneath the awning, glaring at the rain as it pours down from the sky. The weatherman SAID it was going to be sunny all day! A perfect day for the pool, they said! Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend, they said!
He pulls a towel closer around his shoulders, sullenly chews on a Laffy Taffy and glances at his cellphone. 10 minutes. He'll give it 10--no, 15, 15 minutes to clear up, and if the rain doesn't stop by then he'll get dressed and head home. Maybe he could check in to see what his guild on Astro Online were up to.]
Prompt 2: At Home; Getting Used to a New Echo [The location: on the Network. Joshua's taken to it like a duck to water. After all, he's always been a little bit more comfortable expressing himself online than in person.
He's hooking into it through his webcam, and clears his throat when he realizes it's started.]
Um...hi. [waves!] I was wondering...does anyone have any, um...say...small injuries, or a little fever, or something? I think I might have gotten the ability to heal people. I'd like to be able to test it out a little. But I'm still not good at it, so nothing life-threatening, okay? I'm no doctor or anything.
Oh, also. I need some help with something. [He takes a deep breath, and holds up his hands. They glow with a soft, golden energy, and as they do, angelic wings sprout up from behind his back. After a moment, he stops the glowing from his hands...but the wings stay.]
Does anyone know how to turn these off? [He jerks a thumb back to point at the wings.] This happens whenever I use my powers. They go away eventually but they're a pain in the a--ahhh, butt, to hide or just to move around with. And I definitely can't use my powers in public if this keeps happening. The glowing is conspicuous enough.
Prompt 3: IDK do whatever you want to do! [And I'll go along with it! \o/]
