At some point in this process, entertainment is generated. At the very least, curiosity is satisfied.

Huh! Yeah, I guess not. Trek isn't that realistic either... well I assume it's not, I've only ever watched early-ish stuff. Transporters. Kirk fighting with his butt. But it does try and claim it's from the same reality as, uh, us.

Star Trek tries to pretend it is realistic with all the jargon. Really, Star Wars is more fantasy, and Star Trek is science fiction and of the two genres, I prefer fantasy.
