[The place: McDonalds. The time: Lunch. The young man behind the counter is positively brimming with professional good cheer as employees bustle around efficiently. According the the name tag, his name is "Sam M.", and he is a trainee assistant manager.]

-OPTION 2-

[The place: Sam's apartment. The time: Late Evening. The dungeon master is setting up his box of miniatures, battle mat, dice, DM screen, and source books. The apartment is small and cramped, but he runs a good dungeon.]

Alright. Alright guys shut up, lets get things moving. Now, last time you all leveled up after defeating the queen of the blade sorceresses. Did everyone actually update their character sheets this time?

-OPTION 3-

[The place: The mall. The time: Mid-afternoon. Something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. Maybe Vermidi are acting unusually boldly, maybe some reincarnates have gone rogue. Maybe it's just a totally mundane accident. Whatever the cause, people are running and screaming and panicking. But not Sam.

Sam looks...invigorated. He looks down at his hand, then clenches it into a fist.]

[Though armed with nothing but his fists, Sam sounds more confident than Gregory. He sets out after the herd at a run. How a kid who spends most of his evenings reading comic books and playing D&D can sprint like that is anyone's guess.]

[Unfortunately, the Vermidi scattered before long, and even with his feeling of supercharged energy he couldn't chase them down. Eventually, Sam skidded to a halt.]

I'm no hunter, but it looks like they scattered, so no use trying to track them down. You all right? You were going at quite a clip back there.
