Character: Serph | Seth Shepherd (Digital Devil Saga)

Not sure what else to do with him aside from make him a veterinarian. Also, I'm thinking of making his first Echo come from his first case of a rabid animal attack, likely a dog or a cat? Though I'm still not sure about that one. If all else fails, he may just get a report of an animal acting strangely due to the Vermini/Vermedi back then and interacting with it would give him an Echo.

Thoughts?

Pre-incarnation: A battle AI-turned-demon who... eats other demons to keep sane and grow stronger. Yeah, this canon is absolutely nasty why do I like it. But I digress. Serph is the game's silent protagonist, as with all of Atlus' SMT games. He's also the leader of a group of other AIs called the Embryon, and they fight other groups ("tribes") ~~because there can be only one~~ to gain access to the fabled Nirvana. Shenanigans occur and... lots of shit happens.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: I'm totally okay with any existing CR o/ Family and friends would be awesome, since he's likely to have been born and raised in the city. I have absolutely no CR plans for him as of this moment so brainstorming with other people would be awesome.

(This is Julien-mun, aka Joysweeper! Considering someone a lot less extroverted.)

Character:Tash Arranda, of Star Wars: Galaxy of Fear. I finished an app recently, I'm just trying to decide whether to send it!

Natasha "Nat" Arkadi is fourteen and a well-meaning but weird, creepy psychic kid who's not sure how to connect to people, and would get more well-adjusted and sociable as time went on. Because I'm a rebel. She'd also possibly become twice her age and echo back a lightsaber, much stronger psychic powers, and some spaceships.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Nat was orphaned at around the age of three. I have left the cause vague, so there might be something there. There were no close relatives to take her, and she's kind of bounced around between foster homes since she doesn't really connect and has a tendency to discover things people like to keep hidden. (evidence of gambling, guns, alarming pornography on the computer...)

I'm open to relatives - Tash has a strong bond to her brother, so there's some really good echo potential - but there's the restriction where for whatever reason not a lot of effort was made to place her with them. Siblings are possible, but they'd have to have been orphaned around eleven years ago. And again not placed with her.

Also foster parents and the children of such, both current and former. The relationship doesn't need to have fallen apart! Maybe it just didn't work out, they no longer had the resources or environment for her and she didn't seem to mind moving again. Also also: people who might have seen a very bookish quiet kid who sometimes likes to explore off-limits places.

Open/Wanted CR: Hmm. Friends? that's always big. One of Tash's things is that she has a sense for if someone is good and tends to trust them as soon as she picks up on that. Not that she doesn't sometimes trust the wrong people, but it could be interesting! She'd automatically have some kind of connection with network-people and that could be built on.

...There's also the issue of how parts of Star Wars, including her series, hint that some genuinely good people, especially psychic ones feel really good to empaths, who tend to crush on them. She has a big one on Luke Skywalker in the series. So if you have a good-hearted psychic, uh... it's not likely to go anywhere, but it could be cute!

Other Info: A lot of weird things happen in Tash's canon... Potentially she could get some echoes just from reading back through network posts and hey, this is similar to a thing that happened to her!

Some specifics: being on a living planet that's aware of her, trusting someone she's just met for the first time, burying her only loved one and then finding out that he wasn't dead yet, visions of spending a long time doing things while very little time happens in the real world, Project Starscream, meeting someone IRL who she'd known for a long time only from the Internet, ghosts, betrayal, being dropped into the cockpit of an unfamiliar craft and doing just fine, swarms of flesh-eating bugs, possession and mind control, confronting her own prejudices, colonies of clones.

She might echo back spaceships, but also a weird little monster that looks like a baby but kills people whenever she's not watching it. And a virus that would turn her into a ravenous blob monster if she got angry enough. Also she's spent some time as a brain controlling a spider droid while a serial killer ran around being a serial killer in her body, but I don't really see how I could do that in a game without making it a combo app.

Winter-mun here; I've got a (loose) idea for another character, if I can make it stick:

Character: Julia Cross (subject to change)
Pre-Incarnation: Julia Cross | Original

Julia in canon is basically someone who has a big huge brain, a big huge heart, and nobody to share either with; she gets shipped off on a one-way trip to boarding school, grows a backbone, and goes straight to plaid and gets some neat stuff while narrowly stopping a nuclear crisis. Good times. She's compared to a princess for her demeanor and appearance at least once a day.

Here, Julia's going to be someone a little more important - her father was big in either business or politics (haven't decided yet) and so she's used to having very real power. But, she's been well-educated in its use, and is careful both to make sure she's not overtaxing someone, and to reward good servants. She's not above making real friends, either, but that's a little less common. Here, she lives the princess role a little more, and very much enjoys it - but she also takes care to do it right.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: I haven't nailed down Julia's family at all aside from her father being super-important; I'm up for creating sibling slots, assigning parents, or giving her friends. In canon, Julia had no siblings, no friends, and her parents hated her, so... those'll be new and interesting things! I am also interested in anyone Julia might have had a "business" relationship with - anyone she might have asked favors of. Julia is nineteen for StE, and will attend LCU.

Character: Jake Isaac Harrison/Snow Villiers (Final Fantasy XIII)

Footnotes on his personality: Jake's generally sociable and friendly. Unlike his canon counterpart, however, it's in a normal, not-boisterous way. He still acts a lot like a college kid, but he's in that transition of trying to actually act like an adult. He still fails at this a lot. He gets bored very easily and has no sense of patience, usually having to keep himself preoccupied constantly. He's competitive over the stupidest things (games, how fast something can get finished, etc.) and will compete with others in his head far more often than he'd ever admit out loud.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Jake would be working as a mechanic in an automotive shop, so there's plenty of CR opportunity if your character drives. He can do repairs and maintenance for both cars and motorcycles. He wouldn't normally be the one to talk to customers, but if the owner's busy, he'll talk to whoever needs help.

He's 22, went to school in the city, and was a fairly sociable during high school. He was in several different sports teams from middle to high school, but never stayed in any for more than a year. During high school, he was also one of "those kids" at the DDR machine in arcades. Yeah, you know the ones. He went to the technical institute in the city, too, but he was less sociable during that time. It's more likely that if anyone knows him from before, it'd be either from back in high school or work.

Open/Wanted CR: Pre-established friendships or regular customers he'd recognize would be awesome. I love negative CR, too, though. I'm a bit interested in having rivalry CR of some kind with someone. It could be the friendly sort over stupid petty things or a more serious rivalry. I'm open to ideas on this.

Anything Else?: Idek. I have a lot of stuff for him already decided for both history and personality, so if there's anything you want to ask about feel free! I'll likely have something to say about it. Only thing I haven't decided for sure is what to go with for his first echo.

I can't imagine much of anything for Serph (unless he constantly fails at car maintenance), but Toni hmmmmm. What does Toni do right now as a rookie cop? Does she work a regular beat or anything? If so, it's possible that she and Jake just see each other a lot and they got into the habit of greeting each other (or him greeting her if she's less likely to do that). He'd probably only know her as "that cop lady" but it'd be kinda cute to have an Amodar-like thing with her, LOL.

Miles might hate him on the spot depending on the Echo I give him ahahaskdjfhalsdfaf

Toni would be a beat in the nightshift, yes, and if Jake has some pet, perhaps he could be visiting Serph's office every now and then since he'd be a vet.

Character: Zuko | Zach Li/Lee (haven't decided yet!)

I'm basically gonna be mirroring his ~~QUEST FOR HONOR~~ in canon with having parents with Very High Expectations who want him to go to an Ivy League college and become a doctor or lawyer like his prodigy sister, while his uncle tries to convince him to find his own path rather than just trying to make his parents happy.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Zach would be a student at Locke High School, probably a junior. I'm thinking he'd also be involved in at least a few academic clubs, i.e. quiz bowl, mathletes, debate team, etc. The only extracurricular he does for fun is karate, and he misses a lot of practices because "schoolwork is more important than punching things", quoth the parentals. Teachers/classmates/members of his clubs would be open, as would his sister (does not necessarily need to be Azula). He does part-time jobs during the summers, so CR from that kind of thing would be open too!

Open/Wanted CR: Extended family/friends/rivalries/mentor figures/etc. EVERYTHING IS GOOD.

Other Info: He's going to have wayyyy less daddy issues than his preincarnation, and generally be more stable and well-adjusted. Still probably hells of socially awkward, but more likely to smile and joke around and he won't be as single-mindedly obsessive with his goals.

Anything Else?: uhhhh idk this is a big maybe depending on how life goes the next few months

A terribly charming fellow who works at a local hospital as a phlebotomist - likely known as someone whose rather infectious charm is well-suited to getting people who are antsy about getting their blood drawn to calm down. His pleasant demeanor borders on creepy at moments, as does his enthusiasm for his work. He's often prone to making terrible blood puns. Really, he seems okay - just a guy who enjoys life, its luxuries, and his work.

Until the echoes start coming in...

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Other medical personnel, people who have had their blood drawn by this strangely charming man, or have heard talk of him from patients who have.

Open/Wanted CR: Other medically-minded people. He could likely help for a time on medical matters, possibly? I'm not too sure on this, this is a lark I'm posting on.

Other Info: In-canon, Vlad is a homicidal maniac who canonically killed two other kids when he was young just to see them bleed - and then learned a particular type of magic based around blood. Pulling it out of people and using it to fight them, that sort of thing. I kind of want to bring him here to have fun with the idea of a well-meaning if slightly off fellow slowly becoming what is essentially a monster - I'm just stuck on how he may continue in the game once he hits enough recollection to fall into his old habits. (That, and if he could feasibly run around and take out unnamed NPCs for the heck of it.)

Anything Else?: Despite his sinister ways he's also kind of a huge dweeb since all but one of his in-game lines is a bad blood pun.

Character: Sara Kirisame
Pre-Incarnation: Mamizou Futatsuiwa (Touhou Project)

Canon: A weirdo tanuki with the power to change the appearance of herself or other people/things around her. Enjoys making humans squirm and/or look like morons. Was supposed to be brought in as a powerful trump card for the youkai forces but she gets along with humanity too well for that.

AU: Marisa's older cousin. Junior at LCU, artist, hipster, indie princess. Does weird, borderline offensive visual/performance art installations on campus, justifying them with long, incoherent word salad artist statements. Enjoys embarrassing people. If you've heard of something, it's probably too mainstream for her.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Friends, fellow art students. Maybe a past hookup?

Open/Wanted CR: Partners in ~~crime~~ trolling. People to playfully annoy. People to have overpriced exotic coffee with (going to be adding a hipster coffee joint to the city). Anything else!

Other Info: One of the things Sara's going to be echoing in relatively early is the ability to disguise herself as other people. I demand shenanigans.

Character: Rachel Roth

Dark fantasy and horror author from NYC. Has pretty bad parental and personal issues, went to school at Cornell. Biggest mainstream success was a paranormal romance novel she hated and only wrote to get the idea out of her head.

Pre-Incarnation: Raven.

Half-demon superhero girl who was raised by monks to keep her weird emotion-linked magic shit in check. Also, destined to bring about an apocalypse.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Friends, fans, potentially family?? I haven't worked out if she had siblings, and cousins would always be easy to figure out.

Open/Wanted CR: Anything, everything!

Other Info: Her app isn't complete yet, but it's getting there. SOON

Brooke is a completely unironic fan of aforementioned mainstream success, but equally as big a fan of Rachel's less appreciated horror works. The way she works with the macabre is really interesting! And Brooke could spot surprisingly few actual errors in the treatment of dead bodies, though she's somewhat able to shut her brain off when it comes to fiction anyway.

Character: Richard (last name undecided)
Pre-Incarnation: Richard of Windor (Tales of Graces f)

24, history degree, working at Starbucks to pay off loans. He's outgoing and peppy to a fault, openly bi, probably moved to Locke from somewhere further west for school. He's a giant nerd for medieval stuff and has a metalworking hobby.

Previously, he was the crown prince of a nation called Windor. His father was murdered by his uncle for the throne, blah blah blah Hamlet, he gets possessed by a crazy monster and tries to destroy the world. Oops.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: His family situation is totally open right now. He's been in Locke for about six years, and has had a few relationships since he arrived. Nothing really clicked, though.

Open/Wanted CR: Anything and everything! He has an ex or two lined up, but bar hopping friends, college buddies, anything works. He's probably done stuff like babysitting for extra money during school, too.

Other Info: He is actually part of a combo app, more details below. But anything below surface memories and abilities is sort of a big spoiler for his canon, so heads up.

Mari is a totally normal eleven year-old-girl who likes art and is a little shy. She used to be a sentient ball of energy driven crazy by inhumane lab experiments. Thems the breaks!

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Again, I have a rough idea for her family situation but it's totally up for change. Ideally I'd like her to have an older brother to idolize, but any sort of siblings/family is cool.

Open/Wanted CR: I'll be honest, she's going to be a little needy, especially with some awesome traumatizing Echoes down the line. So she's going to need people she can rely on when she can't go to her family, basically.

Other Info: Ultimately (though this will probably take a long time) she's going to lose her human body and require a host. It will end up being Richard, again, but she can technically possess anything that can be animate, including a doll or something. Shenanigans are bound to happen.

Hello! I'm new to the game; got linked over here through ATP. The premise is intriguing me more and more the more I think about it, and I spent most of the day today brainstorming about the first character I'd tentatively like to app. So... here he is.

Character: Jeremy Barnes
Pre-Incarnation: Spike the dragon, from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Jeremy's always thought of himself as a pretty ordinary guy. He was orphaned as a baby and adopted when he was around six, so he knows how lucky he is to have a loving, caring family (even if his nerdy big sister gets on his nerves from time to time). They all moved to Locke City a month ago, and he's been settling in at the high school pretty well.

And then one day he discovered he could breathe fire.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Jeremy has two siblings, both older--analogues of Shining Armor and Twilight Sparkle from the show. Obviously they're wide open to anyone who might want to app either of them! (Jeremy's going to be vague about them, just so I don't lock potential appers into anything.) And he's been in the city for a month now, so I'd love to have him already know people from his high school or around town before he gets his first Echo. (Unlike his sister, he's pretty good at making friends.)

Open/Wanted CR: ALL THE CR. I... really don't have anything more specific to say than that! Classmates, teachers, friends, acquaintances, enemies... It's all good.

Other Info: I'm still working on my headcanon for Jeremy's life/personality/etc, so I don't have a lot in mind just yet. He's just shy of 17, but he looks a year or two younger, easily. He went through a phase as a kid where he loved dragons. He had dragon everything--bedsheets, posters, backpacks, pajamas, you name it. He looks back on that time with embarrassment, when he isn't just pretending it never happened. He's not quite sure what he wants to do after school, but he sometimes thinks he'd like to go into the arts. Maybe writing, maybe drawing... And for some reason gem-cutting and making jewelry has always seemed appealing to him. He has no idea why.

Anything Else?: I've got a thread up on the test drive meme! (Just pretend I have humanized icons and a fitting username, this account is all I have handy. And bear with me; I haven't RPed in ages and I'm just a touch nervous about starting up again.)

Character: Reimu Hakurei
Pre-Incarnation:

Canon: "The Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise" aka, the laziest, most trigger happy, most "I don't give a shit I'll do what I want" shrine maiden in all Gensokyo. Also Marisa's canonical best friend/main rival/partner-in-youkai-hunting, and (one of) the most ~~hax~~ powerful characters in the setting. Also the actual main character of this whole crazy series.

AU: The still lazy, still short tempered, kinda apathetic teenage grandaughter of a Shinto Priestess who's been keeping her busy training her as a shrine maiden and daughter of a workaholic business man who does not seem to actually give that much of a shit about his daughter other than to try to push her to make something of her life and become a "successful adult" like him. Part of this involved forcing her into a foreign exchange program to America to "broaden her horizons," which lead her to Locke City and (mostly due to her grandmother's interferance) Locke City High (instead of one of the private schools which her dad would've preferred). Lucky for her she has relatives there who own the Shinto Shrine near the park in Japan Town.

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: I... don't really know tbh. XD; She's the new kid who will have just transferred in from a whole other country, but if anyone can think of anything don't hesitate to speak up.

Open/Wanted CR: ~~People to bother her~~ friends are always welcome of course because she'll probably need them.

Other Info: I do fully intend for her to get back the Hakurei Yin Yang Orbs (and her divine power/ability to control them) at some point in as interesting a way as I can manage, but I haven't really thought out the details yet.

Character: Michelle Velasco
Pre-Incarnation: Chell

In canon: Ridiculously stubborn silent protag who euthanizes cubes and doesn't afraid of anything. She escaped a deathtrap of a science facility (twice!) with just her wits and a gun that makes holes in space, and has pretty much had it up to here with AIs.

Reincarnated: In her late twenties, presently working at Prometheus. Her parents died when she was a kid- maybe in a car crash, I haven't decided. She moved to Locke for college, where she majored in communications ~~because the irony amuses me~~, and decided to stick around after graduation.
She's on the quiet and introverted side, with a smartass streak, but pretty decent once you get to know her. She appreciates puzzles and brainteasers, and competed in track and field back in high school (her best event? the high jump, of course.)

Pre-Network CR Opportunities: Coworkers? Fellow Locke U alumni? She's not the most social lady but she's been in the city awhile, there's all kinds of reasons she could be acquainted with other characters.
