Test Drive Meme

HEL-LO, EARTH'S NEW HEROES.
Test Drive Meme!
Scenarios:
> Cleanup of downtown Locke City still has a ways to go. It looks like that shop you were planning on another trip to this week is closed for the time being. Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.
> Transportation/travel. You're at an airport or train station, whether to escape or take a tour to a strange-events hotspot, or plain go on an innocent vacation. Mix up your bags or timetables, grab a pre-ride snack, chat up those with the same destination, get or give directions, find yourself receiving an ill-timed item Echo in front of security - whatever you can think up!
> Say - is that one of those superhumans you've spied on the street? Yes, I do believe it is - you've seen them on the news/read about them, that or their looks give them away! Go on and ask questions of them, be it for serious answers or an autograph, depending on who you are.
> ...And it looks like you're a superhuman yourself. Looks like that hollowed-out feeling you got was followed by a mutation, or some strange thing in your brain. How're you going to come to grips with it?
> Wildcard/Etc. Make up your own!
Prompts suggested by Alec and Zero.
Transportation
[Meanwhile, several lines down a tall, dark-haired and smartly-dressed woman has just finished claiming her own luggage, most of which is being carried by an... exceptionally LARGE red-haired man in a black suit. The only piece she seems interested in herself is a bag that Fuyuka might find distressingly familiar-looking if she happens to spot the pair as they pass by her towards the large glass doors where a black limo with tinted windows awaits.]
no subject
Eyes widening, she moved to follow them, not quite ready to confront them, following them to the limo while trying to remain out of sight...]
no subject
When it does, there's a pause before the woman gives the big guy a sidelong glance. Red-Hair blinks a little before grumbling a bit and stepping forward to open the door for her. And inside is... someone else. A man probably but the interior of the limo is dark and as such it's difficult to really make out any features.]
no subject
She takes a deep breath and strides forward confidently.]
Resorting to petty thievery, Mr. Keldek? I'm disappointed, honestly.
no subject
Miss Tersawa. I would have thought you'd have learned your lesson about flinging around such baseless, slanderous accusations after the last time we met. Apparently not.
[The voice is unmistakably his, but different from the last time she heard him speak. Raspier, harsher and with a subtle but noticeable extra edge of malice to it.]
no subject
We both know that's my bag, Keldek. The documents in there, you're so eager to get your hands on? Are about an investigation into a fishery. Tell me, are you a CEO or a child's anime villain?
no subject
Really, do you think I would take any degree of interest in your petty investigations, Miss Tersawa? Or [there's a subtle shift of movement in the darkness of the limousine as he shifts attention] has there been some kind of mixup?
No, sir, this is the same bag I checked when I boarded my flight. [The woman answers, eyes focused on Fuyuka from behind her sunglasses.] I'm sure if she likes, we can have the airport staff verify that.
I hope that won't be necessary. [Keldek settles back in the comfortable seat of his limo.] I've already wasted enough time here, and I trust my employees to be very thorough and meticulous in what I ask them to do.
[In other words, the arrangements had already been made for it to be found that the bag was indeed in the "right" hands.]
no subject
Of course. I'm sure your employees have done exactly what you asked of them.
... But as to whether you took an interest in my "petty investigations", we both know the truth there. You should know you have nothing to gain by dealing with this...
no subject
[There's a shift of movement in the limo, as he turns toward her and... it may be a trick of the light, but two red pinpoints of light seem to burn just where his eyes should be.]
I disagree. It would be... inconvenient for me to have anybody bringing old grudges to town with them. I prefer to keep a close watch on these things.
no subject
... I will "bring to town" whatever I need, Mister Keldek. Just as I'm sure you will.
[not even a lifetime of discipline could hide the shake of her fist as she stood there, defiantly]
no subject
I thought you might, but you should know that Locke City is very different now than when you left it. [He brings a hand up, pale skin stretched far too tight over bone and ending in claws, and black fire clings to his fingers. The big red-haired goon shifts a little uncomfortably. The woman just smirks.]
You might find that pursuing old habits has become a good deal more dangerous.
no subject
Th...that much is clear. But you will find... you will find I am not entirely the same either...
