[this is what Rin came here for, after all. This is why he saved up all his allowance and taken a bus across the country. This was it. This, right here, was why--! He has a notebook with him, and his digital camera dangling from his neck. He's buzzing around the whole city, actually, on the hunt for SUPAH-HIIROZU.

So, there might be a very excited 16 year old kid, wearing a comic shirt, running up to you with a sparkle in his eye and... really bad, heavily accented english]

[a few echoes later and Rin is up shit creek without a paddle. Though in his opinion, the creek is gold and he's happy as a clam to go along with it! And hiding it? Pfftt. No way. There was no way he was hiding something so awesome.

So right now, he's at a comic book shop! He looks normal... wait no. That is a tail. A long, black tail with an adorable poof on the end. And it's wagging as he flips through the newest issues of Batterman and Detergent. He has a long red carrying case slung over one shoulder, too. He's chatting to himself in Japanese]

Cleanup of downtown Locke City.

[Amy frowned as she walked through the ruined streets of the business district. Or rather, as she stood at the end of a street, staring down a street that was currently nothing but a torn up piece of rubble. This had been one of her favorite places to walk through when she needed time to herself... now, even if she wanted to, there was a line of tape and temporary fencing barring her from entry.

But it wasn't the destruction of familiarity that had her staring wistfully like this. It was that the sight of buildings in such a state reminded her of something she'd been steadily trying to forget ever since that monster had reared its ugly head. A memory of her, herself, in a similarly run down or ruined area. Alone.

Homeless.

Or rather, someone else. Someone from another life, whose memories she now inherited. That's what those people were calling it, right? But... if that were truly someone else, why did they look so much alike? Who was this girl?

Where was her family?

Amy grit her teeth. Thought of her family reminded her that her brother was caught up in this as well. There was so much about all of this that she didn't understand... and it was like the desolation in front of her embodied all that was wrong with what was going on in her head...

Embodied...

Amy shook her head. Something about that word... something made her want to shove it out of her head entirely. Besides... she had to be going... they were waiting for her shift at the bar to begin...]

Monster encounter!

[It was late at night, and Amy's shift at the family bar had come to an end. Unfortunately, just as the last customer left, Amy noticed a cigarette lighter on the bar where he'd been sitting. Thinking the customer forgot it, Amy snatched it up to run outside and try to call to the man before he got too far away]

Excuse me, sir! I think you forgot- Ahhhh...!

[without warning, the item sprang to life in Amy's hands. The lighter flipped itself open, and a powerful flame sparked forth that caused Amy to drop the thing on the ground. Much to her surprise, it picked itself up, and clattered towards her, flames bursting forth from the top]

[Dr. Cameron Bidan was a regular at the Bar Amy Dylandy worked at. He wasn't a drinker by any means, though. As a Surgeon, he'd seen firsthand what excessive alcohol content could do to a man's body, he didn't want that happening to him. Regardless, he would go to bars, not for drinks, but for company.

Seeing Amy outside his usual hangout was something of a shock, but what concerned him was the far-off look in her eyes as she stared at the streets.] Amy? Amy Dylandy?

Since a poor burglar tried to take her bag while she was walking and since she’s quite the fighter it was one of those take it in to her own hands before the cops show up deals. Not like the cops would do much anyway besides lock the person up for a day before giving them a fine of some kind. What was really needed was teaching people the hard way not to take things. ]

Unfortunately, in her struggle, the criminal had gotten away, but not without Fuyuka reclaiming the purse.

[ Steven finds time, every weekend, to head down to the business district, his sketchbook under his arm and his pencil tucked behind his ear. He tries his best to stay out of his way, paneling hurriedly with his tongue between his lips, but sometimes - sometimes he needs a better angle. And if he needs a better angle, he's not letting things like repair operations, caution tape, or common sense get in his way. ]

[ He's polite, but insistent, as he pushes past the people around him. The bank sign is at the perfect angle, all right?]

[ A drawing is spread across the page under a scrawled purple network number - an image that is unmistakably the beginnings of several of the more recognizable Network heroes: a blocked out shape that will eventually be a giant robot (if the label on it saying 'giant robot' is any indication), the silhouettes of the Precure, an approximation of Alan's titan form and the mysterious Lord of the Bugmen, most notably - against a mostly-sketched Wise Snake.

[She doesn't mean to stare, not really. Or at least not obviously. But it's not every day you see something like this when you're coming home from school. Or maybe it is, and she just never knew it before.

[Any of you folks who got caught on camera during the snake rampage, or anybody with obvious physical mutations? Have a little girl peering at you from around a corner and doing a bad job of being secretive about it. If you do happen to be someone with an obvious mutation, her eyes are full of wonder and no hint of fear or revulsion.]

[Becky's not sure what's weirder. The giant toothpick swinging another giant toothpick at her, or what she does about it after shrieking and diving for cover.

[A sweeping, hollow feeling, heart thundering in her ears . . . and a sudden swell of knowledge in her head. She thrusts her hands out in front of her in an instinctive defensive motion.] Chocobo!

[In the next instant, a fluffy, yellow ostrich-like bird is in front of her, racing forward fearlessly and trampling the giant toothpick underfoot.

[She just . . . blinks. Did she seriously just do that? Judging from the fact that the bird comes over to her and gently prods at her with one wing kind of confirms it. This is . . .

[A grin practically splits her face in half.] Oh my god, that was so cool!

[Getting attacked by the toothpicks was annoying, but not like really super bad or anything. Only thing was, he didn't want to turn into whatever that thing he can turn into is to fight them off. Kind of seems like overkill, especially when he's trying to avoid that form if at all possible.

But then a giant bird comes and stomps over them. Phillip turns to see it ran back to a girl, and he grins as well.] That was awesome! Did you do that?

A. Locke City downtown

[Regina has the unfortunate luck to have the dance studio she took lessons at exist in a place with such destruction around it. While it had been lucky enough to not be completely demolished, there was still some serious damage to it that needed to be fixed before it would be usable again.

Instead of dancing lessons, Regina used her free time after school to help with the cleanup instead. Today, this consisted of removing the trash that had accumulated around the area. Of course, it left them with a rather large pile of trash bags and Regina, being the proactive type, volunteered to take them to the dumpster while the others continued working. This proves to be a less-than-stellar plan though, as there is now one petite 16-year-old girl struggling with several hefty garbage bags down the street and probably blocking your way should be walking down the sidewalk.]

I'm so sorry. Am I in your way? [She moves again to struggle with the garbage bags, attempting to move them off the sidewalk so people can pass by.]

B. Monster Encounter

[So. Gum strips. Not a fun monster to meet. Regina learns this the hard way, as she struggles desperately against her bindings while she's pinned to a nearby building. Luckily someone like you just happened to pass by, isn't it?]

Cleanup of Downtown Locke City

"Damnit, Damnit, Damnit, Damnit!" Honestly, ever since that snake tore up the business district, Jerry Susan Orlando (because he had the misfortune of being named such) felt as though his life had become even more hellish than before. People kept coming to the auto-repair shop because of the damage caused by the tremors to their vehicles in the mayhem, and while he enjoyed his job, he wasn't getting paid by commission, he wasn't getting overtime, and "COME ON, I'M GONNA BE LATE FOR WORK!!" He kept getting stuck in traffic in his efforts to conform to the new hours of his shop.

"Son of a..." Jerry eyed the sidewalk to his right with no small amount of longing. Since he was on a scooter, he should be able to hop the edge and beat the traffic in the street. However, "Last time I tried this, I almost crashed into a trash can..." and he still got held up by a policeman, so he was chewed out twice, both by him and by his boss. "... Doesn't look like there's anyone here." He made the decision, and had his scooter make the jump.

Of course, Jerry Susan Orlando is a man with horrible luck. Whether it was someone exiting a shop or he simply couldn't see you from behind that tree, he's barreling into you and manages to stop short. "FUUUUUUUUUU-" Only to fling himself into a trash can.

Monster Encounter

"Damnit, Damnit, Damnit, Damnit!!" Jerry Susan Orlando (Because he is a butt monkey) slammed the door to the Starbucks closed behind him as the giant piece of gum crashed into the glass door with a wet 'splat'. He slid to his knees, his back against the door as he tried to catch his breath, gripping the glasses in his hands tightly. Ever since he got those glasses, weird things had started happening around him that he just couldn't ignore. This was one of them. "What the hell is going on!?" The giant gum started to peel itself off the door as Jerry scrambled away from it. "Man, I am SO not interested in choking out like this!"

But where are you during Jerry's crisis? Are you inside the Starbucks in question, staring at this panicking moron? Are you inside the exactly identical Starbucks across the street wondering who splashed pink goo on the door of the other one? Are you walking down the street watching this transpire?

Jungo was in the Strabucks, napping at one of the tables with a cold coffee in the smallest size next to him. Jerry showing up makes him blink awake slowly. He moves to full awareness like a bear, slow and plodding, but when he spots the younger boy freaking out and the thing outside he finally stands.

"...that's gum."

Indeed. A master of observational skills.

[though it wasn't why she had originally come here, it was easy to say that the Wise Snake's emergence had caught Fuyuka's personal and professional attention. Already she'd received offers from multiple individuals and organizations to investigate the incident in Locke City.

She had yet to respond to any of them. She wanted to gather information herself first.

Like any incident, that began with the scene of the crime. Asking questions, interviewing those who had been in the vicinity, taking samples... generally snooping around.

You might have her approach you personally. Or you might see the blonde woman picking up the pieces of one of the Wise Snake's offshoots and studying it]

Transportation

[Fuyuka was no stranger to traveling. When she was active regularly as a detective, she flew between countries and cities weekly, sometimes daily. Her services were in high demand, after all.

Unfortunately, that didn't make certain aspects of the experience any less frustrating as she stood in front of a service clerk in front of baggage claim]

I'm telling you! Someone switched the tag on my luggage! There are sensitive documents in my bag! I'm certain that it was stolen...!

[The poor clerk at the claim desk seems at a loss for any explanation. After all, as far as he can tell, there is no such bag and once again suggests that she give a description of the lost luggage and hopefully it'll turn up somewhere.]

[Meanwhile, several lines down a tall, dark-haired and smartly-dressed woman has just finished claiming her own luggage, most of which is being carried by an... exceptionally LARGE red-haired man in a black suit. The only piece she seems interested in herself is a bag that Fuyuka might find distressingly familiar-looking if she happens to spot the pair as they pass by her towards the large glass doors where a black limo with tinted windows awaits.]

Do we have supervillains now? Because if we do, I'd expect them to use their powers for something a little more grandiose then petty theft.

A)Downtown: [Just her luck. She had been out of town when the rampaging monster had struck Locke City. Now she had come home to discover that everywhere was clogged with people flocking to the city. Further more, the easiest way home was now a maze of detours and blocked off streets, leaving her going in circles as she tried to figure out the best way to get anywhere that didn't leave her stuck in traffic, or walking six city blocks home. Not to mention, her favorite place to get a cup of coffee had been destroyed while she was gone. Now, she was stuck, walking around the edge of the Business district looking for a place that was open, not too crowded and yet still served good coffee. So far she wasn't having much luck.]

B) Robbed:[Ariel had been forced to park her car several blocks away from home, thanks to the destruction in the business district and the influx of people that had come to gawk. She'd just put her messenger bag over her shoulder when someone grabbed her bag and gave her a hard shove from behind, sending her staggering as she tripped up against her own car.]

[So Killian, occasionally, gets tired of going to the proper range to practice with his bow. That's why he found a secluded part of Gateway Park to sort of make his practice area.

He's there now, shooting at and retrieving his arrows from a tree off in some corner somewhere of the park, listening carefully for anyone coming up so he can stop before he shoots them]

[Yoshiki was in the middle of finishing up a sketch when he's suddenly hit with a pulse. The pencil he was using falls out of his grasp and rolls on to the floor. A few moments pass and he returns to normal, but that expression doesn't last long. His eyes widen a considerable amount as his drawings come to life and start crawling out of it. With a startled cry, he accidentally tosses his sketchbook to the floor and another one follows it as he dives to save it from landing on the dirty floor. He was most certainly attracting attention to himself.

There's several paper animals, insects and mythical creatures fleeing the pages. Luckily, they're harmless and could be disposed of easily.]

[Robyn Raines just arrived in Locke City and so far she was convinced this was most awkward and terrible thing in the world. As if packing up and moving across the country to move in with her dad wasn't strange enough as it was, apparently someone decided her luggage was better off in Cuba than with her. Right now, she wished that they had of shipped her off there instead.

So now there's a flustered and upset young girl in a red hoodie pacing around the terminal waiting to be picked up. Anyone who passes might want to be careful though, she's not exactly paying attention to what's going on around her, odds are she'll just walk right into whoever gets in her way.]

[Harry Raines has done a lot of crazy and dangerous stuff in his time. He's headed overseas and covered war zones, been in the middle of riots and butted heads with some very large, very serious bodyguard types who were paid a lot of money to keep press from hassling their employer.

But none of that held a candle to how nerve-wracking going to meet his daughter at the airport is. It's been years since he's seen her in person and even though he'd never missed a phone call on her birthday, or holidays or whenever he got the chance, it was still a much different thing to actually see her in person again. So nerves were definitely a thing, although they were a distant second to the excitement at having the chance to have his little girl back and, hopefully, maybe even make up for lost time.]

[It's easy enough to spot that red hoodie of hers and even at a distance he recognizes her immediately, even though she doesn't appear to have noticed him just yet. It's on the second attempt that he manages to raise his voice enough to be heard over the crowd.]

[It's a temp thing, but it's money- Helping cleaning up the messes blocking off storefronts is certainly backbreaking, and considering his not a contractor it's all under the table he can only do so much.

But hey, maybe he's blocking your path, or your car... though he DOES seem to be lifting more then most people could manage. Way more.]

[idiot. shou sighed as the kid took off, finishing off his smoke as he give him enough time to get to the corner. and then he took to the rooftops, climbing up with that freaky skill and strength he had been getting back. it takes him a few to get ahead of the kid and then to drop down in front of him.

it was an impressive landing or at least shou thought so what with the way his long coat flared out, and without a single stumble. he also took out his gun and held it out in a manner that looked a little deadly.]

[The rain is heavy tonight, something which actually suits Saretha just fine. As if the darkness wasn't enough to cover any attention that might fall upon her, inclement weather would surely do the trick otherwise. It certainly meant that there wasn't much in the way of clean up workers scurrying about. No one to really get in her way as she walked along a particularly rubble strewn area.

There was still much to be gleaned from all that happened on the 9th of March. That day was responsible for the mess she's currently in, and there weren't many people she'd yet seen that she could trust.

In one hand, she holds a large black umbrella, and in the other a particularly long case. It may look like an instrument case to some. That's perfectly fine if they want to make such an assumption. She also wears a long black coat, but beneath that, a white dress which is of stark contrast to the rest of her attire and possessions.

Also, the caution tape blocking off this damaged area? Is a long way behind her by this point.]

[Robbery. Or, well. The attempt at it.]

[Someone sure thought they'd had a bright idea.

It's broad daylight. Saretha had been preparing to settle into the back of a limo. There was business to attend to, and she quite needed to be on her way. Passing that unusually long case off to her butler, she prepared to climb in when... A thug came running past, attempting to snatch the case out of her servant's hands.

That was the intention, at least.

Presently, said hoodlum is sprawled on the street curb, trying to gurgle something out as Saretha's white, heeled boot is on his throat. That case, meanwhile, has fallen to the ground and opened up - revealing a sheathed sword in a pristine, white sheath.]

[He's sure as hell heard about the rumors and what's on the news, but somehow seeing them in real life is not quite what he expected at all. For Spring Break, most guys around Jonas' age would head to Las Vegas. But Vegas was nothing new or unique to him, and when his grandparents offered him a ticket to anywhere in the U.S. of his choosing, Jonas picked Locke.

A. Clean up--

One of the first things Jonas did was volunteer for city clean-up duty. Maybe he was curious about the extent of the carnage (this is AMERICA how the fuck does this shit happen in AMERICA???), maybe he's pretty sure that if he didn't spend his time volunteering, he would be sitting alone in his hotel room? We just don't know (read: it's a mix of the two). Jonas takes an early shift, providing snacks and water for other volunteers.

If he happens to pat you on the back or shake your hand, feel free to notice all your aches and pains fade away.

B. Transportation/travel--

Jonas is a tourist, and he's chatty. Especially if you're cute. Enjoy his attempts to strike up conversation by bringing up the ridiculous cold weather and other really boring, Captain Obvious shit.

C. Starstruck--

He saw the news stories. He's been on the internet. He knows what quite a few of the superhumans look like. And holy shit, he is starstruck. Jonas might try to strike up conversation ("So, about that... terrorism-snake stuff?? Pretty crazy, huh?" or "Dang, you looked cuter on Youtube."), but there's also a high probability that he'll just settle for following you around and maaaybe offering to buy you coffee or something.

It probably means something dangerous is going on and she really shouldn't want anything to do with that.

Discovering Superpowers:

[First. It was the hair. Now, apparently it can heal. Just what Solana needs. At least when its braided it isn't too much of a pain, just reaching her ankles. It sways with her movement as she walks through the park, a shortcut to get to the bakery for her lunch break.

She pauses when she hears someone crying, looking around to find a child having fallen from climbing a tree trying to get their ball. She rushes over, calming and comforting them and telling them not to freak out as she checks them for injuries. The arm obviously broken. She bites her lip, checking around again to try and make sure they seem to be alone before singing. Her hair glows, lighting up and drawing attention to them under the tree as she heals him, his eyes widening and he opens his mouth as if to scream when she is done and he unravels the hair.....]

A. Transportation - City Bus

[Life may have been turned upside down for millions of people over the last few weeks, but let's be real - just because the world is suddenly a comic book doesn't mean you get the day off of school. The only difference is, now you have to catch the bus an hour earlier because of the detours. Thanks a lot, heroes.

So begins this otherwise normal day for Ian Handlon, 15, junior at LCHS and perfectly normal human being, thank you very much. The bus is pretty crowded at this time of day, so he's standing, with one arm wrapped around a vertical railing and the other precariously balancing a large, open textbook. Maybe some folks are worried about aliens or monsters or terrorists or whatever, but right now Ian's mind is singularly focused on passing his midterms.

... Or at least, he's trying to focus. But a rush hour bus is not exactly an ideal cramming location, and he's getting distracted pretty easily, glancing around at people and listening in on their conversations...]


B. Wildcard

[Ian is most easily found at the high school, where he's one of the smallest kids in the junior class; he tries his best to stay under the radar, but as a 90-pound weakling he would make an easy target for bully types. He's in several AP classes. Probably has a group he sits with at lunch, if you want to be in said group, but even there he's relatively quiet and often trying to study for some class or other. (Not very effectively, since lol loud cafeteria and also friends.) Also, he kinda dresses like he shops at Goodwill.]

[Usually riding the bus to school would have been something she avoided--she could just as easily walk to Starling when she lived with her parents--but usually, when she did choose to, like on a rainy day, the cabin was usually fairly clear. But with so many people displaced, the large number of detours and the even larger number of people flocking to Locke to catch a glimpse of the new super heroes, things were a bit crowded.

Much like Ian, Luci was standing, and, also much like the other blond, she had a book in her hand, the other grasping a hanging rope handle. So when the bus came to a rather abrupt stop and those standing in the cabin were jostled, she was no different, flung forward a bit with a start and knocking into the boy. Trying to stop it only caused her to drop her book as well.]

B. Bumping into you



[Another migraine hit him suddenly, causing him to stop in his tracks. He had always had a problem with them, but they were never this frequent, or this sudden. The pain is that its blinding. Literally. He honestly can barely see more than a foot in front of him, and any light that did stream into his eyes may as well been made of daggers.

Thankfully, he knows these things pass as quickly as they come, so he just tries to find somewhere out of the way that he can lean against for a few minutes to ride this out. But he really can't see where he's going, and bumps into whoever happens to be walking by him on the street.]

Thjalfi had been well trained by his Uncle, but he wasn't so sure about the shih tzu.]
