Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.

...It wasn't really, the plane was fine but all my stuff decided to go on vacation to Cuba and didn't invite.

[So now she's not only moving to a city where she doesn't know anyone but she doesn't have any of the precious few possessions she still had in her bag.

...She knew this was supposed to be a fresh start, but this was getting a little ridiculous.]

[She'll hug him back about as hard as she muster right now, she was glad to see him, there was no denying that in the slightest.]

Cuba?

[He can't help but laugh at that. Just a little bit. He knows he shouldn't, and that this is obviously a really distressing turn of events for her, but still....]

Wait, you got on a cross-country flight from one side of the United States to the other and managed to get your luggage sent to Cuba of all places? I'm not sure if that's something to be upset or proud about.

It's not funny! It's not funny at all! All of my stuff is like halfway across the world now!

[It's nowhere near halfway across the world, but she's distressed at the moment.]

[He clears his throat and, once he's sure Robyn's jellylike knees can adequately support her weight again, steps back from the hug.]

Did you talk to somebody about when your luggage might make it back to this hemisphere?

[He knows it's not that far, but let's not go correcting the emotionally distraught teenager.]

[Luckily it doesn't take her legs too long to recover and she'll take an awkward step when he does. She'll give a little huff, but then nods.]

Yeah, I did... they said they'd try and get it back as soon as possible, but it could take up to a week before it gets here at the latest... A whole week.

[He gives a low whistle.]

A whole week, huh? I guess we've got a few stops to make then. ["A few" he says. This is a man who's never been shopping with his teenage daughter before. The poor soul.

He gestures over his shoulder, starting to head toward the doors.]

Did you want to get a start on that, or do you want to take a break first?

[There's a sigh... How is she going to make it without all of her stuff, THIS IS CLEARLY THE END OF THE WORLD AND DAD DIDN'T UNDERSTAND!]

Uhmmm... A break might be a good idea first.

[And cue an awkward stomach growl.]
