HEL-LO, EARTH'S NEW HEROES.
Test Drive Meme!
Scenarios:
> Cleanup of downtown Locke City still has a ways to go. It looks like that shop you were planning on another trip to this week is closed for the time being. Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.
> Transportation/travel. You're at an airport or train station, whether to escape or take a tour to a strange-events hotspot, or plain go on an innocent vacation. Mix up your bags or timetables, grab a pre-ride snack, chat up those with the same destination, get or give directions, find yourself receiving an ill-timed item Echo in front of security - whatever you can think up!
> Say - is that one of those superhumans you've spied on the street? Yes, I do believe it is - you've seen them on the news/read about them, that or their looks give them away! Go on and ask questions of them, be it for serious answers or an autograph, depending on who you are.
> ...And it looks like you're a superhuman yourself. Looks like that hollowed-out feeling you got was followed by a mutation, or some strange thing in your brain. How're you going to come to grips with it?
> Wildcard/Etc. Make up your own!

Regina Black (Rue) | Princess Tutu
[Regina has the unfortunate luck to have the dance studio she took lessons at exist in a place with such destruction around it. While it had been lucky enough to not be completely demolished, there was still some serious damage to it that needed to be fixed before it would be usable again.
Instead of dancing lessons, Regina used her free time after school to help with the cleanup instead. Today, this consisted of removing the trash that had accumulated around the area. Of course, it left them with a rather large pile of trash bags and Regina, being the proactive type, volunteered to take them to the dumpster while the others continued working. This proves to be a less-than-stellar plan though, as there is now one petite 16-year-old girl struggling with several hefty garbage bags down the street and probably blocking your way should be walking down the sidewalk.]
I'm so sorry. Am I in your way? [She moves again to struggle with the garbage bags, attempting to move them off the sidewalk so people can pass by.]
B. Monster Encounter
[So. Gum strips. Not a fun monster to meet. Regina learns this the hard way, as she struggles desperately against her bindings while she's pinned to a nearby building. Luckily someone like you just happened to pass by, isn't it?]
You! You there! Help me down!
no subject
[..."deal", was the thought that Mark was going to voice, maybe a little backhandedly, since, hey, he means to get to the library down this route twenty minutes early or earlier.
He changes his mind; what is a pretty and classy-looking girl like that doing moving trash at all?
No, nonono, hey! You need a... You need a hand with that?
no subject
Partly because she likes to buff up her reputation of being reliable and hardworking. References are good things to have, when you have your sights set on an expensive art college.
Regina really would like a hand, but first. She turns her gaze onto Mark to meet him with a blazing smile.]
Oh, I don't want to cause you any trouble. Are you sure you wouldn't mind...?
Re: Regina Black (Rue) | Princess Tutu
But then there's a girl hauling all that trash around and... Well...]
Yeah, sorta'.
[A pause.] ...How are you gonna carry all of that?
no subject
Hello, Momo! I'm so sorry for the mess on the sidewalk. [It may be a little forced. SURE COULD USE YOUR HELP GETTING THINGS IN ORDER. >8|]
Have you come to help out? [Regina doubts it but she's gonna rub it in if not.]
no subject
Momo plasters on a smile (that probably isn't fooling anyone, really) and shakes her head. CLEANING, you've gotta be kidding her >:C]
Ahahaha... I can't interrupt you! I-I, ah, I just came to see when classes are starting again. I'm so busy right now...
[Abort mission abort mission abort mission]

It might be a bit longer, unfortunately. There's still quite a lot to do.
no subject
Really? That's so sad! I was looking forward to them starting up again, ahaha...
[A shake of her head.] It's a good thing there's people cleaning up... I, um, should wish them luck!

a
( oliver might be inclined to say yes, honestly, since it is true; but she's also a very pretty girl doing something that looks hard to do alone, so he shakes his head. )
Do you need some help?
no subject
Is it that obvious? I didn't imagine it would be so heavy.
[She sets down the bags again as gracefully as she can (which admittedly isn't much, but Regina can make anything look graceful if she tries. And she is certainly trying now) before standing back up and brushing her hands off lightly on the billowy dress she was wearing. Regina tilts her head to the side slightly once she takes a look at who is talking to her, frowning a little in thought...and then simply smiles.]
I know you, don't I? You're the new boy; Oliver.
["Know" is perhaps too strong a word for their relationship, but Regina makes it her business to know people.]
no subject
You've got it in one! I'm impressed you recognized me.
no subject
He's cute.]
I've seen you around school, but I'm afraid we've never really gotten the chance to speak. I'm always so busy... [Dancing, school council, volunteer work. Regina does it all, anything and everything to further pad down her record.]
A shame that our first real meeting had to be so...unorthodox. [She gestures at the bags on the ground.] I don't want to hold you up if you're busy. [No, she really does, and she'll be quite annoyed if Oliver leaves, but she's being polite.]
no subject
No, it's nice to meet you at all. ( WAIT THAT WAS WEIRD ) I mean — no matter how long it took. ( NNNNNNNN ) Not that it was long.
( okay you know what he's just going to go lean over to pick up some bags before he embarrasses himself even more life is hard. )
Don't worry, I'm not busy.

How the fuck j'ou get up there?

Regina balks momentarily at the look of the woman, but charges on anyway. Anything's better than being stuck on the side of a wall.]
It...it was some horrible...gum monster! [Eloquent. She's too distressed to care right now, though.] I'm not hanging up here for my own benefit, you know.
no subject
Gum monster, huh? I heard they're kinda of a problem 'round 'ere.
[She looks around at the building for a door or ladder but continues talking.]
Pretty sure the best way to kill 'em's with water, y'know? Kinda locks the bitch into place an' makes 'em more brittle.
no subject
I'll certainly try to remember that next time. Unfortunately, I had no water near my person once that....thing came upon me.

[ And, without waiting for Regina's reply, Yuna hefts a bag up, then nearly drops it. They must have amassed quite a bit of trash. ] It might be too great a job for two, as well..
no subject
Regina hurries to grab the other side of the bag before Yuna drops it and perhaps accidentally busts it open, giving a rather unladylike grunt of effort before brushing it off with a graceful smile.]
Oh, I'm certain two pretty girls can handle a bag of trash, if they work together. I do appreciate your help, but are you certain it's not going to hold you up at all?
[She certainly hopes not. Regina isn't afraid of hard work, but she's had enough of dragging garbage down the street.]

[ She walked everywhere, back when she was on base in Okinawa. It was a Japanese thing, to walk most places. She found that you missed so much about a city when you drove everywhere or took the bus. If she hadn't walked home today, she never would have been able to help this girl!
Yuna looks down at her blouse for a brief moment, releasing a relieved noise after seeing its still pristine condition. ] Let's get this done! We'll pick them up together, okay?
[ Yuna bends forward a bit, getting a tight grip on one side of the trash bag. ]
no subject
[Regina bends down with her, taking a hold of the other side.] They are heavy, but the dumpster isn't much further. No doubt I would have taken up the sidewalk for ages longer, though.

Re: Regina Black (Rue) | Princess Tutu
Hey. Can I offer a hand there?
no subject
I seem to have underestimated the weight. If you're not too busy, would you please...?
[She never takes an offer of help immediately; Regina always acts the part of a demure and polite young lady.]
no subject
It's fine. It's not like anyone's gonna be doin' much besides cleaning up for a while.
[ He reaches for one of the bag, absolutely oblivious to her pause. Lifting the bag comes easily to him thanks to his regular workout regime.]
no subject
You make it seem so easy. [She laughs.] That's quite embarrassing.
