Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.
> Transportation/travel. You're at an airport or train station, whether to escape or take a tour to a strange-events hotspot, or plain go on an innocent vacation. Mix up your bags or timetables, grab a pre-ride snack, chat up those with the same destination, get or give directions, find yourself receiving an ill-timed item Echo in front of security - whatever you can think up!

Yeah! [man that's really cool-- wait hang on let the obvious occur to him.] You have a number! [He reduces his voice to a conspiratorial whisper] You shouldn't tell anybody else that, 'cause the police are super mean and kind of hate us. But your bird is really cool!

[Number? Like that one that popped into her head a few weeks ago? Nothing super special had happened then. Not that nothing at all had happened, it just wasn't special.

[She blinks at the lowered tone. Oh. Oh, that's not good. Sure there had been news about the police being investigated and stuff, but she'd passed over that boring grownup stuff for paying attention to superheroes and monsters. They're cooler anyway.] Oh, man. Thanks. I dunno what I'm gonna do about my bird though --

Maybe. [If she wants it back, she can summon it again. She knows how. It's an easy spell. It has to be, if she just did it on instinct, right?]

Oh. Um . . . Is using real names safe? I mean, with the police being evil and everything. [She's got a ready answer either way.]

I won't tell! [he promises!] 'Cause I've got a number too. Some people use fake names, though, if you want. But that's mostly on the network-- if you type in your number or write it down, you can talk to everyone there!

Hmm. [One moment, please. This requires SERIOUS THOUGHT. She got another name from the first time the hollow-feeling-whatsit happened, so she could use that. But this is in person and not on the internet or something.

[She holds out a hand for a handshake. Because that's not dorky at all.] Hi, Phillip. I'm Becky. [She can use her other name on that network . . . That works even if you just write down the number? Oh man, that sounds awesome. She's gonna have to check that out when she gets home.]

[Phillip grins, shaking her hand back.] It's nice to meet you, Becky! Do you got to [insert name of the elementary school here] too?
