Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.

[Okay. So. He's currently a giant, spikey lizard. He's currently still in the city post-disaster, and needs to get out. Why? He just does, though it's probably fair to guess that giant reptiles may not be popular at this juncture. As if they ever would be if you unexpectedly met one face-to-face.

Speaking of which, Doyle here is waiting in a dark alley between buildings, as one does when they're trying to be stealthy, and he had thought the coast was clear enough to cross the street, but of course he makes it halfway out when he sees that it wasn't.

He freezes like he's a deer in headlights instead of a sizeable dragony thing in the street. Maybe if he stands still, he won't be seen - that's how it went in that dinosaur movie, right?]

[Except, she does see him because holy shit a giant reptile is in front of her. A small scream of surprise escapes her as she takes a step back, ready to flee because she is 99.9% certain it is going to eat her.]

[Oh right, it was the other way around - humans standing still meant the dinosaurs wouldn't see them. Dinosaurs that stood still stood out like a sore thumb to humans]

[Doyle himself kind of... Makes a small noise of his own and shrinks back a little. His head ducks, his ears flip back, and he sort of sinks down a bit, while leaning away. Hopefully that looks more 'nervous' than 'going to pounce'.]

[The best thing would be to run away... except she wasn't sure that was the best thing. You didn't run from predators. That usually encouraged the chase response. So she started to shout and flail, hoping what worked to scare off some predators might scare him off as well.}

[... Has Ariel ever seen a dinosaur look really offended? Because she's about to.

That tension drops from his pose entirely, his ears flip out to the sides, his tail even drops and he shifts closer to his hind legs, almost sitting. He turns his head straight at Ariel and gives her an 'are you being serious right now' expression that could rival the meanest cat.

Like, okay, he doesn't want to look like a threat, but he still has some shreds of dignity left and he's going to hold to that, dammit.]

[Once she realizes her scare tactics aren't working, and that the lizard looks more like an annoyed cat, she drops her arms and just stands there, suddenly feeling like an extra int he movie Jurassic Park.]
