HEL-LO, EARTH'S NEW HEROES.
Test Drive Meme!
Scenarios:
> Cleanup of downtown Locke City still has a ways to go. It looks like that shop you were planning on another trip to this week is closed for the time being. Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.
> Transportation/travel. You're at an airport or train station, whether to escape or take a tour to a strange-events hotspot, or plain go on an innocent vacation. Mix up your bags or timetables, grab a pre-ride snack, chat up those with the same destination, get or give directions, find yourself receiving an ill-timed item Echo in front of security - whatever you can think up!
> Say - is that one of those superhumans you've spied on the street? Yes, I do believe it is - you've seen them on the news/read about them, that or their looks give them away! Go on and ask questions of them, be it for serious answers or an autograph, depending on who you are.
> ...And it looks like you're a superhuman yourself. Looks like that hollowed-out feeling you got was followed by a mutation, or some strange thing in your brain. How're you going to come to grips with it?
> Wildcard/Etc. Make up your own!
Prompts suggested by Alec and Zero.
Estellise Sidos Heurassein l Tales of Vesperia
I hope everyone is managing okay. I mean. Okay considering. Everything, really. But I just wanted to let everyone know if they find a purple bag with a star keychain on it? That is mine. Someone stole it when I was reading in the cafe this afternoon. I just wanted to warn everyone in case they try to take someone else's things too. At least most of it can be replaced. It's just a pain, really.
I tried to chase after him, but he was pretty quick! Do you think that might be one of those...powers? Like, super speed? Because I think that must have been it. There was no way I could catch up with him. I am not sure how much the police would look into it, but I reported it anyway. Just be careful everyone, I'd hate for someone else to have their things taken too.

[Stella works at the library and is often seen helping customers there and shelving the books and dvds, cds. Ask for help finding a specific book?
Or catch her later on, minding her own business and devouring a book with a clearly forgotten about drink at her table in the local fast food place after work. You might need to speak up to get her attention, she's pretty focused there.....]
no subject
Knocking on her table to get her attention, he does have an announcement.]
Star Girl. [He doesn't know her name, okay?] We're closing in fifteen. Pack up. [Not the nicest of guys, no...]
no subject
Oh, it's closing already? Okay, sorry, I don't mean to keep you waiting....
[She ignores the drink still, marking her place with a bookmark and shifting to put her book away. She might be a little embarrassed, would probably be more so if this didn't happen with alarming regularity. She only knows the guy's name from his nametag, doubtful he knows hers at all. And yet nearly each night she sees him and he comes over to tell her it's time to go home like this.]
no subject
It's dark out now, the busses are stopped, and for the first time he questions whether she has her own ride home. He always assumed she had a car, she seemed like a rich little princess like that but one never knows. Maybe mommy and daddy decided a car was too dangerous for Princess Peach here.]
S'fine.
[There's a voice yelling from the back telling him he should be nicer to the girl and he grumbles. He was never good with actual personal interaction. Asking for orders is one thing... This is another.]
Princess Peach, you drive yourself here?
[Because dark + this place + bad people = bad news for a girl like her.]
no subject
[It's not so much that a car is dangerous, but more that she doesn't live too far and she simply walked here from her job at the library to relax before heading home. She has a car but doesn't often use it since they live fairly centrally in Locke City that she usually still walks or takes the bus.
And, as usual, she lost track of the time here while reading. Again. When she looks to the clock she realizes immediately that she missed the last bus.]
I walked from the library. But it's okay. I don't live too far from here. I'll be fine.
[She's had this happen before, after all. More than once. Estelle therefore doesn't seem too concerned about the notion of walking home, even this late, later than she intended to be out.]

You have a cell phone, right? Call your parents or something. If not, I'll... give you a ride if you wanna wait.
[Doing favors is not something George likes doing, however he does have to make things up to the joint considering he missed a day thanks to being in jail a month back.
But at least he'd lift any sort of a guilty conscience if he made sure she got home safely.]
If you don't want me driving you, our manager would likely take you home.

At the library
Erm, hi.

[Stella is quite used to this, Rita is by far the first student to come looking for help or references. Plus she has been through school herself, starting on her first year at university, so she understands. She pauses in putting the books away on the shelves to turn and help Rita. The books can wait, after all.]

I did a previous check, but it's looking like I gotta get an Inter-Library for this one. Game Design's too specialized for typical libraries, I guess.
no subject
[She gestures for Britany to follow her over to a staff computer where Stella can look it up.]
Um, so...you're working on a video game? I don't really play them myself, but that is pretty neat!
no subject
[Rita sighs.]
I'm looking for copies of game design documents that have been released to the public, basically.

Library
But this time he's having trouble finding one of these, so (after searching the shelf for half an hour because he doesn't want to bother anyone if it turns out to be someplace obvious), he goes up to the girl by the DVD cart who he's pretty sure works here.]
Um, excuse me...
no subject
Yes? Did you need some help looking for something? Sometimes a book or dvd might not be on the shelf if it's just been returned. I can try to help though! What were you looking for?
no subject
I know. Uh, yeah, I'm looking for a DVD. [Wow, duh. Way to state the obvious, Ian.] I mean, uh. It's a Mystery Science Theater one. Volume 23? I just wondered if it made it onto your cart, or...

[Stella skims the spines of the cases she is returning, clapping her hands and retrieving one to hand over to him. She is fairly sure she has seen him around the library regularly, as often as she works here.]
Here you go! It must have just been returned this morning. I hope you enjoy it! I've seen you around here before, I think, so if you ever need any help again, just let me know.

So Robyn decided the best course of action was to slide up behind the chair Stella was sitting in and just read from over her shoulder. It's not until Stella goes to turn the page that she speaks up again.]
Woah, hold on! I'm not done with that one yet!
no subject
Sorry. Was this one you've been trying to get from the library too? It's apparently pretty popular, so I figured I should check it out since I work in the library.
no subject
Oh! Don't worry about it, I was kind of intruding anyways.
Yeah, but it's been sold out or borrowed from every place I've been too so far.
no subject
[The book is at her lap now, spread between them so they can both read it easily and comfortably. She knows what a frustration it can be to want to read something and be unable to. The annoyance and fear of people spoiling it for you. So Stella understands. And she likes to do what she can to help if possible.]
no subject
[You just made her day Stella, completely made it.
Assuming it hasn't already been reserved but she isn't exactly thinking about that.]
I would have reserved it myself a while back, but I just moved here recently and it completely slipped my mind until now.
Re: Estellise Sidos Heurassein l Tales of Vesperia
Seriously? You too? I think someone just swiped my duffel bag at the airport. Oh man I didn't even think about them being one of those super guys. You really think so?
