Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.

[Liam turns towards the sound of someone speaking to him, and his eyes go wide. Even when you see something like that on the news, it's hard to accept that it's real until you see it for yourself. ]

Wow, are you for real? That's kinda cool. Can you fly?

[Well, this is a better reaction than fear. Julien smiles easily and resettles his folded wings.]

Flying...? Hard to say. I can fall with a lot of style, but I haven't really tried going up much.

Suil, by the way. -I mean, hello. [he's got a quasivoluntary tendency to greet people in Sindarin these days.]

Still, pretty awesome. If you might be able to, I mean. There's got to be a lot of good sightseeing up there.

[Liam was more curious than nervous by nature, but he didn't go any closer to the guy either. The strange word gives him a sense of deja-vu, but he ignores it for now. He nods back to answer the greeting.]

[Julien was tight with the Aragorn we used to have - he's an easymode echo source.]

Maybe not out over here. At least the whole city's not like this. And this isn't as ugly as it was a couple weeks ago. Progress is happening, after all, even if it seems slow.

[He tips his head to one side, looking down at Liam.]

So, I'm Julien Sakazaki. You're new in town?

Kind of. I know the place pretty well, since I used to visit a lot when I was a kid. I've never actually lived here before now, though.

[He nods once at the introduction.]

It's Liam.

You're moving in, huh? I assume you know what you're getting into!

[The wind picks up. Julien adjusts the way he stands and the angle of his tail and folded wings, hoping not to be blown about. Gritty particles and dust whip about.]

Kinda nice to think there's not just a total exodus out, for everyone who's able. I know a lot of people who've left.

[He shrugs.]

I've got family here, and I've always liked this place growing up. I feel like I should be part of fixing things.

Cool. Are they anyone I'd know? [There's Julien's easy grin.] I mean, it's not a small city and I can't know everyone, but I'm good with names. I got to be a lot more social before the feathers happened.

I don't know, have you heard of Teagan O'Reynne? That's my uncle.

[Julien lights up, one leg shifting as if he's thinking of stepping forwards. He lowers it again.] Yeah, actually! He's a friend of mine.

[Teagan would disagree.]

Tell me, is he a little softer around kin?

He puts on a hard face. Being liked isn't one of his priorities. [He ducks his head, smiling.] I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude! Bored, I guess. I have too much time on my hands, these days.

[Liam chuckles.]

Well, I can't disagree there, I guess... but if you've got time on your hands, you could also volunteer with the clean up.

I'd like to! But, well... this happened. [Julien opens his wings slightly and folds them against his body again.] I've lost a lot of dexterity, and people tend to be nervous when I'm around.

Yeah I guess that's a problem. I don't know what to tell you.

Hah... Maybe I'll be able to do something when I'm more used to these, but I'll have to be careful, anyway.

So, you're volunteering then?

[A laugh.]

I don't think it can be called volunteering when you get paid, but I did move down here to help out with this.

Oh? Cool! I know your uncle's doing a lot with the rebuilding. You working for him?

Pretty much, him being head of the company and all.

[A sigh. It was kind of sad to see it like this.]

Looks like this is going to take a lot of work though.

...I'm sorry, that's a terrible pun. But seriously, though, I have a way better feeling about his company than Thunder doing pretty much anything with this.

[Okay you get a laugh out of him for that one]

Yeah, I think a lot of people feel that way too, after what happened to the water. That really pisses me off.

[Julien grins when Liam laughs. The color of his teeth isn't quite right.]

Yeah. God, I don't see why exposing that didn't get them to slink off with their tails between their legs! We should be able to bring that up at any time and they'd just back away.

[He rolls his eyes.]

It's probably because they have the money to afford a lot of good lawyers. That's a must when you're a company that big, in case shit like this happens.

[He gives Liam a sidelong glance, amused again.]

[Ouch. He shrugs it off.]

Money can do a lot of good stuff, too, you know.
