Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.

[he toed his wallet, still keeping an eye on the kid and then kicked it lightly into the air before snatching it, reflexes fast and smooth and just way too freaky unusual for a normal person. shou knew his reputation was growing in certain circles, and he knew that there were half guesses about him being connected in that wise snake mess.

he slid his gun back in it's holster and shrugged.]

Is it pride or is it something else that won't let you take something offered?

[His eyes widen slightly, and he tilts his head. But better not to ask right now.]

Because sometimes a person needs a break to get on their feet, and sometimes a person steals because they haven't gotten a break. It's nothing crooked; only simple dock work. They don't even check for age, only that you're able to move boxes.

[yeah he pretty much figures he looks a little shady but he can't help it. his roots might be rich, but the echoes were showing him a different side of life.]

[He's legal... but just barely. Not that it matters since he doesn't have any real ID. He can do grunt work. Maybe it's ALL he can do- he's nothing if not strong. Finally he relaxes, nodding]

Then I'll take you to see Jin on the docks. He'll set you up. Just remember that some of the other workers might be there cuz they caused a little trouble and might try to push. Don't give in to the pushing and do your work and they'll leave you alone.

[he'll talk to Jin after he gets the kid set up and make sure that they won't push things too much. after all, legit work is just as important as the other stuff.]

Mhm... oh! Hold on.

[He jogs away, back towards where they came and then down an alley. He comes right back though, with a battered backpack and a lump in his jacket]

he led the way, and it looked like that he had some sort of reputation among the street people, some greeting him, others looking away, and still more sliding next to him to talk. shou took it all in stride, and he talked fast and friendly with those that wanted to talk, greeted the ones that were too busy, and ignored the ignorers. soon they were down by the docks and he was waving over a tall mixed Japanese American with sunburned skin and long, muscular limbs.]
