Test Drive Meme

HEL-LO, EARTH'S NEW HEROES.

Test Drive Meme!

Scenarios:

> Cleanup of downtown Locke City still has a ways to go. It looks like that shop you were planning on another trip to this week is closed for the time being. Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.
> Monster encounter! The above or you were robbed (or, for all you could tell, misplaced something) a while ago, and one of the objects you lost seems to have come back to you, if not the way you recognize it. Ayup, getting backup might be a good idea.
> Transportation/travel. You're at an airport or train station, whether to escape or take a tour to a strange-events hotspot, or plain go on an innocent vacation. Mix up your bags or timetables, grab a pre-ride snack, chat up those with the same destination, get or give directions, find yourself receiving an ill-timed item Echo in front of security - whatever you can think up!
> Say - is that one of those superhumans you've spied on the street? Yes, I do believe it is - you've seen them on the news/read about them, that or their looks give them away! Go on and ask questions of them, be it for serious answers or an autograph, depending on who you are.
> ...And it looks like you're a superhuman yourself. Looks like that hollowed-out feeling you got was followed by a mutation, or some strange thing in your brain. How're you going to come to grips with it?
> Wildcard/Etc. Make up your own!

Prompts suggested by Alec and Zero.

[He just grins even wider and goes back to where he shot from before]

Why not? Thanks not getting me in trouble.
sylvanguard: (Sad panda face/ Thranduil is a dick)

Sure thing. Us archers need to stick together after all. But in the future, we should really have some targets stashed away somewhere. Make it easier on the trees.

[Did she really just condone him coming back here again?]

[She did, and he's delighted]

I think there's some old pillows or something in storage at Thorir's I can steal. No one'll know.

Pillows wouldn't do much to stop an arrow.

[She is examining the holes left in the trees and thinking.]

Maybe with some wood backing from some ply wood or even a pallet would help. It'd be really nice to actually have some straw targets, but those are way obvious.
[She steps back to where he is standing and unslings her bow from her shoulder.] Ready when you are.

We'll think of something.

[And with that, Killian steps back to shoot again. He is so going to get outshot and he knows it]
sylvanguard: (Aim to kill)

[Ariel takes the opportunity to study him. She isn't just looking at his cute-in-a-puppy-sort-of-way face, but also his stance and how he holds his bow.]

Here, hold your arm a little higher, and widen you stance a bit more. Should give you some better aim... I think.

[He tries, but it feels wrong somehow, which maybe means that past-him had a different style. Still, it can't hurt to try and shoot a few times like this.

It just makes his aim go even more off, though, and he falls back into the other stance soon enough]

That just feels awkward for some reason.
sylvanguard: (Will shoot you down)

[personal profile] sylvanguard 2014-04-02 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... [She takes the stance she suggested to him and fires an arrow at the tree, hitting her mark, then copies his stance and watches as the arrow goes wider, hitting to the left of center and down low.]

To each their own I guess. I think it also has to do with the choice of bow as well.

Also, y'know, I'm a good six inches shorter than you.

[He snorts]

But hey, you're still better than I am even in a different stance. Not fair!

[She scrunches her nose at him, grinning.] I know, ti almost feels like I am cheating. Alright. impose a penalty on me. Want me to stand further back, or maybe shoot with the opposite hand?
youngestone: (Laughing)

[personal profile] youngestone 2014-04-03 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Killian just makes a face and laughs]

I get the feeling you'd still kick my ass!
sylvanguard: (I have too much hope)

[personal profile] sylvanguard 2014-04-05 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
It's no fun if you're going to be like that! [Besides, she really wants to test her abilities.]
youngestone: (Grinning)

[personal profile] youngestone 2014-04-05 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
Fine. Eyes closed and your non-dominant hand. Just let me get behind you first.
sylvanguard: (pew pew)

[Okay some of her cockiness fades at the idea of firing blind, but she is ready to give it a shot.]

Alright! I'll give it a go!

[Once he is behind her, she changes hands and closes her eyes, then takes aim at the tree. Taking a deep breath she fires on the exhale. The arrow goes wide of the mark, missing the tree. She can tell from the sound alone that she missed.]

Well, it looks like I still need practice!
