> Cleanup of downtown Locke City still has a ways to go. It looks like that shop you were planning on another trip to this week is closed for the time being. Or the entire block is trashed and you'll be needing an alternate route to work. Or your workplace is trashed, if not some real estate you had in the area, and you'll be needing a helping hand - or are trying to offer one!
> Help, help, I've been robbed - your bag or wallet's just been snatched, or is in the process of being snatched. Catch the snatcher or rough them up - you may or may not be surprised, if you come to blows or a chase, to find on throwing a punch that they're much quicker and/or sturdier than you'd have expected. Maybe someone will dive in to back you up.

Good luck finding a new one, then. This looks pretty bad.

[A small sigh.] I only moved here last autumn so I'm still trying to learn my way around. Now it's just impossible.

[arrowpoint]

Oh? That's cool. I know my way around - sort of. I used to come here every summer.

[He looks around.]

But it's kind of hard to see where everything is now, and some places might have moved or changed owners.

Or been utterly destroyed. [She gestures tot he business district.] What are you doing here anyway, you look just as out of place as I am.

I'm checking things out, since we're going to rebuild.

[He pokes at some rubble.]

Crap, I hope that isn't asbestos...

Part of the city is in ruin, and you're worried about asbestos?

[arrowpoint]

If I have to help with rebuilding the place, yeah, I'm worried about asbestos. You want to breathe that in?

No, I wouldn't want to breathe it in, but isn't it a banned building material?

[arrowpoint]

It is, yeah. You haven't been able to build new stuff with it for a long time, but this building is pretty old. You find it every now and then. People try to hide it because it's expensive to replace.

[Now she is looking warily at the rubble, almost stepping back just because.]

Shouldn't you wear a mask or something then.. you know for the dust and all that?

[He's also stepping away from that particular pile of building.]

I won't stay long. When I come back I'll bring some gear.

Wise choice. So do you do this for a living, or is this more of a nice guy helping out thing?

Well, I just started, but you could say I do this for a living. That's the plan, anyway. I'm working for my uncle right now.

[sylvanguard]

[She already discovered one otherwise unknown cousin, so here is hoping that this won't be a second.] Your uncle isn't named Thorir, is he? And he doesn't own hardware shops?

No, that's not him. He's CEO of Rain Industries, Teagan O'Reynne. We're trying to help fix up this place.

That's your uncle? [ she certainly knows who that is. Pretty much everyone in the city knew who he was.]

Yeah, that's him.

Wow, so why are you down here in the street instead of some office somewhere?

[And then it hits her: Its hard to be in an office with most of the business district destroyed]

I don't think I've even been in the office for years. But anyway, I'm checking things out so I can get a feel for what's going on.

No I wasn't here for that. When I heard about it though...

I had to get down here to help out. There's a lot of good memories here for me, you know?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was out of town too. Just started working at my new job... I came back as soon as I could though.

[arrowpoint]

So, what do you do, then? For work?

[sylvanguard]

Shoot arrows. I work as a park ranger at Gateway Recreational park. Just north of here.

Oh, nice. I should really check that place out again, it's been years. Is the trail with that one tree that looks like it's smiling at you still around? The bridge was kind of falling apart if I remember.
