Oh man this bitch. Personally, Asuka couldn't articulate exactly why it is that Rei rubs her so much the wrong way other than vague and hypocritical adjectives along the lines of "obstinate" and "creepy". She remembers just enough of past-Rei to remember she's never liked her and this life isn't any different. She doesn't like reserved people and she hates people who directly oppose her when she's actually being serious about things, and Rei fits both. The fact that she moves straight to screaming rage mode while Wondergirl remains completely stoic just exacerbates the matter (it's not even any fun like arguing with other teenagers on the Network is).

Compounding this is the fact that Asuka is very interested for what she kind of laughably rationalizes as scientific curiosity in dragging Shinji into danger and Rei is the one person with both the interest and the spine to realistically stop her. Shinji represents an attitude Asuka dislikes (wanting to ignore cool special superpower stuff), but Rei actually acts on that on his and her own behalf, and right now Asuka's seeing her as an obstacle in the way of learning more about her past life.
