TEST DRIVE MEME
> The Park. Man, what a nice day out. Why not enjoy it? I'm sure -- shit, yep, there's some echo monsters.
> The Mall. Exactly what it says on the tin! Dodge the hordes of teenage mallrats or take part, whichever suits your tastes.
> Rainy Day. Agh, it's fucking awful out. And is it raining those vermilion things?? Now you've got an Echo to contend with on top of everything else. Find some shelter, quick!

Henrietta ??? (Homura Akemi) | Puella Magi Madoka Magica | Re-Test
Public Transportation
Excuse me.
[There is a very small-seeming teenage girl being steadily pressed toward the back of the standing-room-only bus, squashed between rude commuters and her own backpack. She's also having trouble making herself heard over the noise of the bus.]
Um, excuse me?
[She also may be having trouble seeing what stop the bus is at and/or breathing.]
Er, help? Anyone?
The Mall
Henrietta sighed. She hated dealing with crowds at the mall during the holidays every year, and this year she was feeling even more awkward and out of place than usual. She had to admit to herself that that was saying something, and did so while toying with her Mystery Ring of Don't-Even-Know-What-This-Is-For, which was apparently an early Christmas present from the Universe, or at least the weird parts of it that she'd recently discovered.
She sat on a bench (at least there were places to sit down here) and considered her options. There were clothing stores she didn't like, bookstores she did like but were full of rude holiday shoppers, or sitting here and pondering her own weird daydreams about superheroism and weird architecture. She sighed and tilted her head back, looking up at the ceiling and lost in thought. Time seemed to stop for a while.
Then it actually did stop, as far as she could tell. After a few seconds of shocked staring at suddenly motionless people, Henrietta practically jumped off the bench and yelled in surprise. That was, of course, when she realized she'd fallen into another weird daydream and now everyone in the immediate vicinity was starting at her like she had some kind of disease. Henrietta glued her eyes to the floor and started trying to shuffle through the crowd unobtrusively, before someone decided she was crazy or on drugs.
((I'll respond to either in any format, I just felt like some variety))
no subject
The faint voice from inside the mass of people, meanwhile, concerns her enough that she pushes herself through the crowd roughly until she finds the source. Stumbling as she gets there, she reaches out for the other girl's hand.]
Are you all right? It's... really crowded today.
[The plushie she's holding in her other arm against her chest is highly conspicuous. Especially considering it seems like it's watching her...]
no subject
Er...yeah, it is.
[Sorry she's just going to have to keep staring at that thing and not really notice the outstretched hand for a couple seconds.]
Oh! Thanks...?
[Well, it will get her out of here, so she eventually takes Winter's hand cautiously.]
no subject
Sorry, I don't k-know why it's so crazy. But it'll... be okay now. I hope that didn't hurt t-too much. Um, where were you g-going? We're close to the shopping district downtown... I had a f-few shops I wanted to visit for a little bit. I should have s-started my Christmas shopping a long time ago, but it should work out... somehow.
[Raquel is markedly less concerned, now, and isn't being nearly as suspicious... for what that's worth. This mostly means you're slightly more likely to see his eyes move.]
no subject
Er, yeah, that's where I was going t--
[Her eyes suddenly go wide.]
Did your doll's eyes just move?
no subject
Did they? I c-can't see from up here... sometimes he surprises me. It's almost like he's alive, some days! It's amazing.
[It's a somewhat-convincing attempt to pass it off, and she's cheery as she delivers it.]
Are you okay? I had to pull a little hard.
no subject
[A thing that looks like a plushie in her freakier daydreams, maybe. She decides to look at the floor instead of it.]
Oh, and um yeah, I'm fine.
no subject
[Was it really necessary to be that loud, Akito? Apparently, because he is now making a show of putting his hand on her shoulder and steering her towards the food court.]
I told you to wait for me, didn't I? Geeze, I wasn't even in there for very long.
[A sigh.]
--Anyway, c'mon, let's grab some food before it's time to go.
[Is he totally bullshitting all of this? Yes, he is totally bullshitting all of this. But at least they're making progress through the crowd this way?]
no subject
Uh...right! Sorry.
[She glues her eyes to the floor in embarrassment and lets herself be dragged along, playing the dumb younger cousin extremely accurately.]
no subject
So what was that all about? You okay?
[Maybe he's being paranoid. But she's a part of the club too, and it's hard for him not to worry about his younger cousin getting caught up in all of this.]
no subject
...I think I remembered something? Or maybe I just spaced out. Everyone just looked frozen for a second...
no subject
no subject
That's weird, right?
no subject
[But then again, you've got a cousin who can heal people by staring at them, so weirdness is kind of relative here.]
...Can you make it happen again?
Re: Henrietta ??? (Homura Akemi) | Puella Magi Madoka Magica | Re-Test
[It's hard to hear anything in this crowd, but Rick notices when the young girl get pushed backwards towards him. He doesn't have much room to move either, but she looks pretty uncomfortable. He's just going to reach a hand over her head and gently shove the person on her other side back a few inches.]
You okay there, kid?
