Questions Meme
This is a meme in which you TALK FOREVER. How it goes:
1. Make a thread for yourself in this post, listing the characters you play and your own name.
2. Go find someone's thread to jump and ask them A QUESTION. The question can be anything, RP related is common, of course, but not necessary. Who do you want to app most? What does Character A think about Character B? What's your favorite flavor of icecream?
3. Answer all questions asked of you! Once you have answered, end your response with a question for the person who first questioned you. This is important to keep the discussion going and going.
4. This goes back and forth indefinitely until someone gets tired and can't reply anymore.
5. Have a lot of fun! ♥
This game is a fun way to get to talk to people, headcanon, and learn things you didn't know before! Because it involves gives and take, it can go quite a while and everyone can participate and possibly make friends.
Here is an example.

I can never seem to get away from writing complicated characters lately. I don't mean necessarily in personality, but background and connections to other characters. (If I ever made a character web for San's canon, it would be a mess) As for themes, I guess drama / conflict, emotions / mental thought process would be up there as well as supernatural / mythological influences from time to time. I'm not entirely sure if this is what you're asking or not and if I've managed to failed to explain myself properly, I apologize in advance.
I'm not sure if someone asked this before, but what drew you to apping Anthony & Rarity to StE?

Anyhoo~ In Anthony's case Eternal Darkness has been my favorite video game for ages - I'd always wanted to give RPing from it a shot, and I would've gravitated towards trying Anthony as his chapter of the game (all thirty minutes of it if you're slow, admittedly) always stuck out to me the most. Reading on the premise of StE it seemed like the perfect place to finally try - in both the scenario of being about ordinary people using knowledge from times gone by to fend off an extradimensional hostile takeover but and the modern AU aspect which I figured would be a fun one in which to play with and make the most of the use of extrapolation and headcanoning that playing anyone from ED would warrant (the characters and that they come across rather well using mainly little details like their voice acting and the way they carry themselves/attack/etc. is a thing I always loved, but it is mostly detail - almost all of their respective roles only last a little while in canon). Apparently 'twasn't exactly coincidence, either - in a note to my Anthony app's acceptance notice, the original head mod of the game stated that he originally got the seed of the idea watching an LP for Eternal Darkness.
Reading about the Echo mechanic cranked it up from "This would be perfect" to "I cannot resist", since again I would've probably wanted to play Anthony more than anyone else - canonically, Anthony does zombify in distinct, progressive stages (except in his case it takes, again, all of thirty minutes) and picturing that well I figured a load could be done with him indeed.
Rarity meanwhile was totally a whim - I hadn't actually played or even so much as voice-tested a My Little Pony before but just sort of pictured it and thought that either a human-born woman receiving misleading/ambiguous snippets of a past life before unexpectedly making a transformation into a horse or a horse attaining sentience and acting fairly human while still being a horse would be equally fun, and poked around and received anonymous encouragement toward the second use, since at the time Romsca's mun had been the only one who'd made use of the sentient-animals-route possibility. I picked Rarity because she's my personal favorite and because she's got such a colorful voice and speech patterns I thought she'd be a joy to write.
Was there a specific sort of contrast you wanted in coming up with Xander as opposed to San, or did Xander as he is just sort of come about in thinking up what an alternative persona for San could be like?
no subject
Not exactly. Xander was built as a mix of personality from two parts of San's life. A good chunk of how he acts on the network (before getting back certain traits) was pulled from San's arch-angel years and how he reacts around people he knows (more relaxed, a bit more humorous) was pulled from San's fallen arch-angel state. I never really got to play the more serious side of San at the previous game I was apart of (if your character died, they come back and have amnesia. It happened 3 times for him and each time would take a bit longer to get back all their memories) and I did want to explore it a bit more. Although I did play around with an alternate versions of San with a friend and most of the time it had San & Conleth as twins before some tragedy befell Conleth. To be honest, it was rather difficult writing Xander at first because I was too used to writing San and his mindset is really easy to get in to. I still have to catch myself sometimes, but now that Xander is becoming a bit more like San, it's easier.
So, Anthony was actually your first muse and introduction to rp-ing in general then?

Minamimoto however methinks was a surprisingly fine muse for getting myself into RP all the same as he's very quirky and restless - and also single-minded, but the two games at which I first tried him were an AU game and a memory loss game, which prob'ly rendered him more willing to cooperate and interact with other characters and the situation than he would've been directly from canon. He's downright fun and made for a good exercise in taking down and sinking teeth into a character's voice - he's also got an obvious theme to play with - and in the field of plotting and creating hooks since without the power he's got in canon 'tis probably fair to call him a bit of a rambunctious punkish brat who thinks he's brilliant - he seemed to very much warrant getting into shenanigans, creating hooks, and attempting to give colorful responses to things..
What about San likewise - is he the character you've been playing longest/have played most, and when and how did you think him up?

I started rping the same way with a forum board and poorly made OCs at the time, that was back in roughly 2003 - 2004 as well as playing off a few school friends over MSN messenger. My first LJ game was an AU game and I planned a canon/fandom character for a bit before dropping him for different character from a canon I was obsessed with at the time.
San's actually three years old now. He was made on the same day as two of his canon-mates, Finnagin & Artimus which was Sept. 9th, 2010. I was slightly inspired by a few things and it just came to me while I was trying to get some sleep. I can't recall if I wrote a small portion of it down on paper first or literally boot up my computer to start working on it, but I know I ended up getting very little sleep on one day due to working away on an outline.
San is not the oldest in my collection (that honor goes to another OC who's 13 years old and went through plenty of revisions over the years) and isn't the newest either (that goes to Ena, who shares the same name as Xander's mom and took on a life of her own rather recently). When he was first made, he would not be quiet about things always sharing his thoughts on what was going on or wanting to talk to other people. I'm glad he's quieted down over the years, but he does chime up once in a while and learnt to share my head space with other characters.
What's your favorite type of book or movie genre?
no subject
I really do enjoy horror, especially fantasy/supernaturally-tinged, but oh-ho I can be a bit of a pedantic snob over it especially for someone who doesn't have nearly the guts to try writing it myself and knows they'd probably be poor at it - I feel as if there's a fine-ish line between horror and not-so-much-horror-as-thriller and arbitrarily feel as if the latter's more about what's going on/suspense in the events and the former's about the concepts. I love the way things can be theoretically played with/dreamed up/subverted in horror to pieces, and I think that fantasy/paranormal elements can enhance that, if they're not used to just make it easy/deus-ex-machina it.
Are there any situations/opportunities for involvement in things, threads, and/or pieces of CR Xander's gotten that have surprised you?
no subject
Interesting. I tend to lean thrillers since I tend to be cowardly regarding the horror genre (yet it won't stop me from playing characters from horror games). Then again, practice makes perfect.
Quite a few actually in terms of threads and CR, especially those who keep tagging back. I was pleasantly surprised regarding the Tuning Tower scouting with Ravindra and Xander, despite the awkward tension between them and a couple of others that are slipping my brain right now. My apologies, I would go in to further details, but I'm feeling rather tired right now.
