Questions Meme

This is a meme in which you TALK FOREVER. How it goes:

1. Make a thread for yourself in this post, listing the characters you play and your own name.
2. Go find someone's thread to jump and ask them A QUESTION. The question can be anything, RP related is common, of course, but not necessary. Who do you want to app most? What does Character A think about Character B? What's your favorite flavor of icecream?
3. Answer all questions asked of you! Once you have answered, end your response with a question for the person who first questioned you. This is important to keep the discussion going and going.
4. This goes back and forth indefinitely until someone gets tired and can't reply anymore.

This game is a fun way to get to talk to people, headcanon, and learn things you didn't know before! Because it involves gives and take, it can go quite a while and everyone can participate and possibly make friends.

hee. For now, it is Inception. And poor kid!

Julien is extremely averse to people saying that he's becoming a bird. Pure denial, there. By now he basically is a bird with a human muscularskeletal structure and not much in the way of feathers or scales. Other than that... Yuuya's startlingly easygoing but despises assassins and has been mauled by cats, so we'll see!

Besides not expecting him with blue eyes or wanting sick birds in the house, what's Akito's family like?

His parents are usually busy with work - they're both out of the house until pretty late, so Akito's grown up used to being in after school daycares and, once he was old enough, just taking the bus or walking places himself. But as a result, the family is decently well off, and throughout his life there were often trips and vacations to amusement parks and that kind of thing - nothing especially adventurous, just relaxing or fun. They might not spend a lot of time together, but when they do it's definitely enjoyable, and Akito appreciates it more than he'll necessarily admit to.

Unfortunately, they're woefully ignorant about a lot of the injustices in their own country, and will usually take whatever the media throws at them at face value without looking up other sources. But rather than debate it, Akito tends to just avoid any topics that might lead to uncomfortable conversations. This has only increased with his involvement in the numbers club.

On the slightly more extended side, his grandparents on both sides are a bit more strict regarding his studies (or lack thereof), but he's gotten very good at smiling and nodding and promising to do better from now on even though both he and his parents know it's just not gonna be happening. One of his grandmothers is slightly less strict and tends to spoil him in terms of gifts and that kind of thing, so he's a bit closer to her than his other relatives.

Did Julien ever get attached enough to name any of the birds he's picked up?

Conservative, huh? And d'aww.

Absolutely! Mostly these are ones which were already somewhat used to human contact, so they tamed easily. The only one I've named in-game so far is Sixes, a reddish bird that used to be a racer and has a leg band with numerous sixes on it. She likes to bite Jules and pull at his skin, but she's a pigeon, so that doesn't do much damage.

Has Akito been befriended by any birds?

How... creative, Julien.

And yes, he has! But only very reluctantly. He's got a soft spot for weak, pathetic-looking things, but that doesn't mean he's blatant about it. It was all in the small stuff - giving them soft pets here and there, checking to make sure they were comfortable, that kind of thing. He's actually kind of weirded out by the fact that they seem to like him.

It occurs to me-- what route are you using for Julien's memories? Or is it just some kind of crazy mix of them all?

You know HB? I'm going with the Holiday Star route, though things set up/established in other routes are also being used if they're not contradicted - digging through trash and being away from school a lot, etc.

If not Ahito (or Mimi), who would you play here?

Aha, indeed I do! I came for the silliness and got sucked in by the despair, go figure. And Holiday Star, huh? That... makes a lot more sense now!

HMMM I think I'd probably play someone from Alive: The Final Evolution because I have an addiction to random obscure manga I guess. I was tossing around ideas for Yuuta, a smart-aleck kid with the power to create psychic barriers, or Kanon, a s...omewhat very psychotic young woman with the power to explode things. If I hadn't hit my limit in terms of games and characters, I'd probably still be considering it...

In the same vein, is there anyone else you would ever consider apping into StE if you had the time?

Good, good!

I have plenty of time, but inclination's an issue. Anyway, I think I'd either go for Luke Skywalker (everyone knows that canon) or Miranda Fallow (Dr. Franklin's Island). But Luke is exhausting to play after a while, and I've already got a huge bird focus with Julien. Having Miranda start as a wild hawk, turn into a bird monster, and then get the ability to become human-shaped could be fun, though.

So who's your favorite character in HB and why?

That would be Nageki, because I seem to like self-sacrificing characters with terrible lives and/or probably deaths. It's not even funny how much this is a recurring theme with my favorite characters. Why do all the sweet kids gotta die, man.

But that aside, it's just really interesting to see how terribly awkward he is around others, and how he starts to grow out of that as he finally gets to talk to people again. His group of friends may be severely limited by those who are pure of heart enough to see ghosts(???) but it's overall just really sweet and I'm pretty sure I talked my friend's ear off when I realized how Nageki-centric Holiday Star was getting to be around when I hit the third storyline, aha.

How'd you hear about Hatoful/get into it?

I think he's my second favorite. Poor kid. I love when he's a sassy jerk, I love when he shows he's good underneath that. And man, the game is ambiguous re:if Yuuya can see him. I like to think it's less purity and more... idk, compassion? Openness?

I'm not clear on the details exactly, but someone pointed me to Angie Gallant's Let's Play, I was impressed, I saw the full version and refreshed a lot to try and keep up, I was more impressed, and I bought it. Then let it lie for at least a year, and then I decided to buy the second game, which meant replaying the first as a refresher...

You know about the manga/drama CDs/upcoming thing, the last of which has alive!Nageki, right?

Yep! I'm pretty excited, haha. Even though the whole "Nageki lives" (among other things) doesn't make sense in the slightest, I am still more than happy to see more of it 8D

Is Julien ever going to get to go full on spy mode?

Yeah. I guess Moa felt restricted in writing him since as a ghost he's pretty much anchored in place, so he doesn't have Charon and the orphanage never got attacked... Should be fun!

It depends! Julien likes the sneaking around, but he hates being involved in violence. He's more cautious and likely to think things through and ask for help than Yuuya, which might help if he tries it.

How does Akito feel about the healing thing?

Putting more thought into these things is definitely good, yes.

Akito thinks the healing thing is weird! Weird, but useful. Even if it's kind of stupidly precise with its requirements (why's he gotta stare at people, this is uncomfortable). But he's only used it once so far, so his opinion is liable to change quite a bit once he becomes aware of the price it comes at, aha.

What's Julien's plans for the holidays? Does he celebrate?
