The All-Purpose CR/Plotting Meme - First of 2014
Another round of the CR/Plotting Meme with which to begin a new year!
As always, the meme's open for making arrangements with and between not only current but potential characters in StE; there will be a header under which to comment with potential characters - when doing so, please label with characters' reincarnated names (if decided!) and pre-incarnated names and canons in the comments' subject lines.

Pre-Incarnation: Beyond Birthday
Former L-obsessed stalker serial killer with Shinigami Eyes, Current squeamish Criminal Justice Major. His main interests are puzzles and shoujo manga.
Pre-Network CR Opportunities: University students, especially ones in the same field of study. He lives in the dorms on a scholarship, so maybe he even has a roommate?
Police characters, since he is trying to become a detective he might have gone on a ride-along with one/some of you. This could be terrible depending on how eventful said ride-along was.
If there are any older high school teachers in the game, I imagined he had a good relationship with his, if anyone wants to have been a mentor to him in the past. Oh yeah, and he used to volunteer at the clinic L was in if anyone else would know him from there.
As for AU family CR, EVERYONE IS DEAD save for one separated twin sister. However! He was a foster kid and lived in many homes, so it would be interesting if there are any older characters who would want to be former parents of his that didn't work out for whatever reason.
Open/Wanted CR: I am open to anyone who wants CR, but let's see.... Puzzle fans? Competent people? Magical Girls? Detectives? SHINIGAMI?
Other Info: Because Beyond impersonated L in canon, I'm planning a plot with L's mun where BB and Lazarus's echos will run eerily parallel and they're going to wonder for a while if they are echoing the same person. Anyone wanna help facilitate that?

... Having said that, I'm not terribly familiar with Bleach shinigami! What are we working with here.

Bleach shinigami are basically supposed to have nothing to do with the living at all; powerful ones have their power limited while they're in the Living World so as to not drastically alter the spiritual climate. It's their job to preserve the balance of souls among all the planes of existence -- otherwise the world is destroyed or something big and dramatic like that. When souls remain in the Living World after death, they generally start out as a Plus, which is really just your average workaday ghost. Shinigami find these and can perform a Soul Burial by bopping them on the forehead with the hilts of their swords. This sends them onto Soul Society.
Kind of important that they get there, because otherwise they could decay, lose their hearts to despair, and become Hollows. (Or be eaten by said Hollows, since those things are soul cannibals.) Shinigami can purify Hollows by cutting through their bone masks. This separates the evil from the soul and releases it to go wherever its supposed to. People who were wicked in life will become Hollows a lot faster than your average joe, and shinigami can only purify the actions a soul took after becoming a Hollow. Those who had been decent people would move on to Soul Society. Really evil people like serial killers and whatnot would be on their merry way to Hell.

before he got his numbers though he was a huge workaholic and basically spent like 90% of his free time working bc what is having a life LOL
so basically any time before april would be fab if possible!!
aaaaalso of note, he's a sergeant, not actually a detective. so if that doesn't work then Kotetsu could've just seen him around the station :|b his game bff is Nick who is a homicide detective so POSSIBILITIES :|aa

Either way, it will be something that sticks out for him, since it is him attempting to follow his first echo (specifically, it was his need to be L, but without any concept of what L is, so he just vaguely knows it is "some kind of detective".)
If it was an uneventful trip, he'll think "That was interesting, but hmm, I wonder why it didn't quite do it for me..." and probably went on a few more before deciding he didn't really want to be a police detective.
If it was eventful and dangerous, however, he'd probably have been like 'oh god scary' and decided more directly "UMM THE KIND OF DETECTIVE I WANNA BE, PROBABLY WORKS IN SECRET.... YEAH...." and it felt right! But totally not because he's a chicken or anything!

(Also going to app in a college student who would be totally likely to make fun of him for being squeamish if she had the opportunity, although she's a theater major and a couple years younger so I doubt their classes would overlap any.)

Actually, because Beyond Birthday had canonical awesome skills in makeup I thought it'd be remiss if I didn't get him involved with the theater department somehow. It may not be his major, but he might participate in some college plays just for fun. I think he'd be interested in it, and it could get him some echoes.
