There have been loads of new characters and new configurations of threads since our last one! And thus, where is the harm?

To any and all up for it:

Haven't talked in a while, but...

Well, he still finds her annoying in general, but let's face it, that's his opinion of pretty much everyone. He actually appreciates that she's trying to find other ways to be useful besides, y'know, Master Spark. Since that's kind of a last resort kind of thing and at least she's not dumb enough to be firing it off at the drop of a hat.

(As for the powers thing, well, he's gonna be in for that farmhouse stuff, so there could be some power usage there, but nothing actually planned for that expedition at the moment. Aside from that, the next big ice power thing would be his Tier 2 Echo when Wise Snake is rampaging through the city and I plan to give him the whole ice dragon thing back.)

Lily's thoughts on him from their brief bit of interaction are "quiet and possibly a bit of a neat or organizational freak." The first one seems clear, but are we in the ballpark on the second?

Oh, definitely in the right ballpark on the second. He hates messes, hates chaos, hates disorganization. Wanna meet a kid who never has to be told to clean his room? Who'll ask grown-ass adults why they can't properly pick up after themselves? That's him.

That sounds kind of fantastic. He and Lily do seem to share that trait of, "older beyond their years" in some sense. Though it may not be as pronounced with her. (Or maybe it is? She's still kind of surprising me with some things a month in.)

He definitely has this old beyond his years thing. To the point where most kids his age think he's weird and therefore don't hang out with him. Part of it is just who he is, and the other part comes from being a kid who has to take care of his guardian almost as much as the other way around sometimes. Need to be mature! Need to be responsible!

But really, Sophie is one of those people that's alternately really annoying and actually okay to talk to. They're actually capable of having some serious conversations, even if Sophie starts going for the nicknames after a bit. Plus, there's that whole kindred spirit thing of being annoyed when the adults are all OMG CAN'T HAVE CHILDREN IN ON THIS! It's nice to have someone who can be with him on the whole, "Don't automatically assume we're a liability because we're young" thing.

Toushirou is mostly ambivalent about Danny. His impression does lean more to the negative side, of course, but not because of actual dislike. Danny doesn't push any of his buttons, he's just . . . a weird doofus. Albeit a weird doofus with useful powers as long as they don't get away from him and cause an embarrassing situation. And let's face it; the number of embarrassing incidents tend to be a lot more visible than the successful ones.

Oh, it's the oyaji.

You know, even through all the judging, Toushirou doesn't actually dislike Kotetsu at all. Sometimes he wonders how the guy even remembers to breathe, but thinking somebody is dumb is in a whole different universe than not liking them as far as Toushirou is concerned. He actually really respects that Kotetsu had outed himself as a cop not out of a fear of being found out, but because it was the right thing to do to let people make up their own minds about him from knowing the truth. Toushirou has a respect for people being genuine is the big thing, and though he can fault Kotetsu for many things, he's still got the points for being an up-front sort.

There's something to be said for the fact that Toushirou puts up with Bakura. Caught him at an opportune moment, really, when he was still new and trying to put the pieces together. They've both been trying to work things out from the beginning and while Bakura can be super-obnoxious, he can also be serious and provide important insights.

... They also both understand what it's like to be granny-whipped.

Well, Toushirou's initial impression of Henry was that he at least seemed a little smarter than the other kids. Of course, then Henry hauled off to the Dead District by himself and he had to revise that opinion slightly. Overall, he thinks Henry is basically alright, and yeah the power is kinda cool, even if he'll never say so.

He does, however, think Henry might be a little naive about the whole business of killing. "Never ever kill" sounds great as a general philosophy, but Toushirou doesn't really think they're going to get out of this whole invasion plan without having to take the aliens down this way. He kind of hopes Henry comes to understand that someday.

Oi, headache time.

Really, Toushirou only started talking to Phillip because he gravitates toward other kids when they show up on the network. Not out of a desire for friendship, but so that the other kid won't have every single person replying being someone worried about them just because of their age. Phillip's super-friendliness just makes him blink sometimes, and he quickly learned that there's no point wasting time and energy trying to make him go away. So he kind of got used to him.

And yeah, he still thinks the whole being non-emotional about death thing is a tad creepy, but he's gotten used to that too, on some level. Besides, it's not like it's something on their minds all the time.

The adults clearly need the help of the children, man.

Okay. Look, Hajime, he gets that you mean well and everything, but no he does not appreciate the implications that he should stay off "active duty", as it were; he's as important a part of this as any adult and he can look after himself, thank you. They're all in this together, age be damned.

On those occasions where network business isn't on the table, though, he hasn't got a problem with Hajime, really. Doesn't like him per se, but finds him a great deal less annoying than a lot of other people so that really counts for something.
