[what a wonderful gesture. alan had been caught out on the rain without anything bigger than a laptop which he was not going to use to keep him dry. so he was a dripping mess standing under the tree. it didn't help that the layers of brocade and lace were not the best kind of materials to wear in a downpour. so he was definitely was grateful for the kindness of strangers.]

Too bad you didn't bring a raincoat. You're looking a bit wilted there.

[Biffy's voice is all sympathy, because that looks like it was a truly amazing outfit before it got hit with the rain.]

I could have brought a cape, but alas, the idea never occurred to me.

[even his hair was wilting out of the curls he had put in it that morning. at least the make-up was staying in place; that was one good thing about his chosen career that the make-up skills that went along with it.

he refrained from trying to straighten up the mess his clothing has become. for one it wouldn't do any good. for another he was feeling dramatic and fluffing up clothing that would not fluff would be annoying.]

I was heading home. This weather has absolutely ruined what I had thought would be a lovely time to make a few sketches.

[Not that he knows this fine gentleman from Adam, but there's something strangely familiar about him. Very strangely familiar. And he's concerned, he seems so distraught by the ruined outfit.]

Absolutely delighted. [Leo smiles back. His teeth are entirely normal, but he doesn't miss Alan's.]

That's what everyone tells me- and yes, I live just a couple of blocks east. I was heading home, but I don't mind going a bit out of my way.

Then I should say welcome to the neighborhood. It's a lovely place despite what the press likes to print. [he casually dismisses the whole body of reporters with a flick of his wrist. as far as he cares, their skills at finding the truth was like those of a bunch of children pushing sand around with sticks.

That flick of Alan's hand struck another note of deja vu- what was it about the man? His dress, his attitude, his (very nice) everything was so familiar, but just out of reach]

Leo Bray- I just started work at the Mane Event in the mall.

[He always internally winces every time he says that, but it's a nice salon despite the cheesy name.]

Wonderful! I can't tell you how many people had to come up to me and tell me that I need to stop dressing so fashionable! [he all but stomped at that word, not wanting to splash mud all over his fine clothing.]

They are so over reacting of course. I've been dressing like this for far longer than Recent Events. Why, I remembered at how put out some of them were over earbuds for phones.

[he sighed and shook his head before thinking a moment about the hair salon.]

I have been there a few times... usually for a trim. Did you replace Susy or Jake?

I'm not. [compromise his vision in order to appease the common person? never. he was - and always will be - his own person although he did have normal clothing. after all, it was hard to mix some theatrical make-ups while wearing brocade and lace. the stains would be impossible to remove.]

Ah, that's right. She has been trying for so long to have a child. I am going to have to buy her a gift. I would be most grateful if you do. This weather had been terrible to my hair.
