[Ever since the last pulse Kimberly has been getting random attacks of claustrophobia while inside. She is (for now) quite a tall woman, but even high ceilings aren't enough when those hit. On the latest of these she hoofs it across a field in the park, heedless of snow getting into her very unsuitable shoes, hands to her head.

[ he knows some of them, friends of his sister. a little loud, a little obnoxious, but he'd rather see them at the mall where it's comparitively safe. nevermind kids and drugs and alcohol anymore- the city's become a weird place the past few months.

[Yeah, there may or may not be some unsavoury critters hanging around in the vicinity, but if there are, Lexi hasn't appeared to notice them, or her surroundings in general. She's a little busy, you know. Scanning around for rocks, apparently. And whenever she comes upon one that's about the size of her fist, her brows lift in interest, and she picks it up.

[And holds it next to her ear. Pauses for about a minute, just in case. And then frowns in disappointment before letting the rock plop back down onto the ground. Sheesh, is she ever going to find one that works? What's the point of having an interesting power if she can't find anything to use it with?]

He's a hawt and not-hugely-bright shapeshifting dragon king. Well here he's Virgil Argos, sweet but kind of dim receptionist for something or other. On the side he plays a lot of baseball.

He looks up, and you are ~captivated~ by his deep green ageless eyes and wild exciting cinnamon nutmeg scent. ...he's from a romance novel. Eyes and scent are noteworthy but you don't have to be compelled into adoration like much of the cast.

b] alternately, he faced something huge and powerful, he turned into a ginormous firey silver-plated dragon and fought it, then he got killed and promptly exploded magnificently, which either took out the enemy or else wounded it and someone else finished the job. Anyway. Coming across the scene some hours later you find charred dragonbones and plating, by now pleasantly warm. Ribs arc overhead, and in their center, coated in ash, there's his human form, asleep, bearing waist-long silver hair.]

[Thank goodness she managed to finish all her chores a little bit early or else Abby would have never gotten a chance to look around the art fair! Ever since she heard about it, she couldn't help but give a little peek as to what they had to offer. So far, there wasn't anything that stood out to the young girl but when she heard a scream not too far away from her! What the...what was going on over there?!

As she quickly turned around, all she could hear was the screams of little kids as well! What was happening? Was everything okay? Of course, now that she got a closer look...she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Nnnnot cool. It's raining torrents, Lita is SOPPING WET, she has been walking in the rain for at least five thousand years, and now that she's finally made it to the local coffee shop, it just HAPPENS to be closed and her ride isn't coming for another twenty minutes. Great. She sighs, sending droplets flying into the air as she hunches under her newspaper to peek from the tiny bit of covering over the coffeeshop's stairwell, watching the rain come down. The weird... rain. Huh. She's not in any way a environmentally inclined sort of academic, but at the very least she doesn't feel as though this is very normal phenomena. She hopes someone's recording this.

Suddenly, the shotgun she had been hiding under her skirt slips down and skitters onto the sidewalk. NO. Nononono bad. She squeaks to herself and darts into the rain to pick the heavy weapon up, looking around frantically into the dark streets for any passerby. How much trouble would she catch if anyone saw her hauling this thing around?

[There is a knock behind her. Someone - a tall, blond, neatly dressed and pretty heavily glaring young woman - is standing inside the coffee shop and will be waving at her to come back to the door, already having her keys out to open it.

Sure, the shop closed half an hour ago, but she's fairly sure that this is someone that she has seen in the shop a few times before - and the chance that both of them are waiting for the bus is pretty high in this section of the street.]

It's raining.

It is definitely, 100% pissing down with rain and he does not have an umbrella. Or a coat. Because it was fine when he left! Admittedly, yes, not the time of year to be running about without a coat but he'd been in a hurry because he was late (no, not his fault! Well. Okay maybe a bit his fault...) and now he was wet.

There was no other way to describe it really other than wet. The kind of bone-deep wet, cold feeling that makes you feel like you might never be warm again. His t-shirt is sticking to his skin. He's dripping. If he can just make it a little further --

Which is when the truck comes. He knows what is going to happen instinctively before it happens, skips back a step and cringes away as it speeds through the puddle.

Nothing happens. No water hits him.

When he looks up the water is frozen in time, slowly turning back towards the truck as if being repelled.

He starts to cough, a weird mix of surprise and alarm, and turns to run head down through the rain.

Which is, unfortunately, why he can't see where he's going and slams directly into someone else.

Sophia stumbles — it's hard to see even a few feet in front of her in this rain, let alone someone running in her direction — and her hand falls; this is to say that the umbrella dips in an arc that may very likely bring it into close encounters with Merlin's head, if he's just that unlucky. Because of course she has an umbrella and also a raincoat because of course she's prepared, and so luckily the new incursion of rain on her person only wets her face and darkens her hair as she blinks and pulls back to keep her balance.

There's some concern to her voice and the beginnings of irritation, depending on his answer.

Among the many people pushing around strollers in the park one stands out a bit. Literally. At two metres tall it's kind of hard to not stand out. ...The stroller seems a bit unnecessary though with the baby actually being draped over his arm, head in his hand and legs and arms hanging down on either side.

...Unlike the two four year olds that run after a big labrador dog. ...They might just be running straight into you for all that they are watching out for other people. Or maybe you remember Thorir from the network and just want to come over for a chat?

[ He's always found himself drawn to natural spaces, for all of his life. There was something beautiful about trees in their solitude that Teague liked better than people. If given the choice between a shortcut through the park back to his office and going instead through crowded streets lined with concrete, he and his neatly put together Brooks Brothers suit would always choose the park.

It's a shame, then, that the sky erupts so quickly. He curses and, removing his jacket, he tries to cover his head as best he could as he runs towards a large tree, seeking shelter. In that moment, frustrated about the rain, being late and his now soaked suit, he glances down at his foot and, seeing a spider trying to escape the rain as well, crushes it under his foot. He feels it crunch under his sole and sink into the mud and he thinks, in a language he doesn't recognize, Good. The rain and it's wretched corpse will feed the trees, and Yavanna will sing for our health and prosperity.

[ This place, he decided, was awful. It was too full of deadbeats and kids with sticky fingers. Too full of overindulgent mothers are teenagers who lived to annoy others simply to feel powerful. He wants to go as quickly as possible. Meet his client (who was late, he should just leave), discuss bulldozing this building to create a zoo, or a playground, or whatever it was his client wanted from him, maybe buy another expensive watch to clear his head of this place and go back home to his eco-friendly solar-powered condo.

[ He's used to walking everywhere, but there are some days where Kei is just too damn tired and has just enough money from busking to hitch a ride to the other side of down--the shadier side, but whatever--and just relax. IT's a shit hole of an apartment but it's got heat and food and water and a semi-hot shower even if the water pressure is absolute shit.

Kei hasn't got headphones on, but the thrum of the subway's movement and the hustle and bustle of it's patrons are enough to lull himself to sleep, guitar case below the seat. Sorry, buddy--looks like you're a new headrest for a 5'2" girly looking asian. ]



B: Park

[ Aaah, what he does best: playing the guitar and annoying people just long enough for them to throw a coin or two in his case. He's no superstar, it's just an old beat up acoustic and an equally battered case, but he's good enough to get lucky and be able to buy a pack of cigarettes when the day's done. You won't catch him singing, just playing and, if he knows the song, taking requests (no, he won't do Wonderwall, this isn't a college campus, and freebird is right out).

Occasionally, though, someone or something will catch his eye and he'll stare or a while. Almost like he's fairly certain he's seen you around town before. ]

B cuz Shou drives fancy cars

[It isn't annoying if it's good. Shou stopped in the middle of his text-walking to listen - head tilted to the side as he tries to figure out just which song was being played. He doesn't look up right away, still texting furiously to someone on his sleek but in all honesty he was losing interest in his conversation.

Breaking up with girls was too stupid in this day and age after all, though this one wasn't the type that would publish a book in order to get back at him.

Snorting at the next message, he shut off his phone and put it on mute for good measure before turning to face the musician. He paused in the middle of saying something, frowned and shook his head.]

Option 1 - The Mall
[Fil tapped his feet impatiently as he waited in line to pay for the packet of drafting pencils. He'd been in line for over fifteen minutes already and the man at the register was STILL arguing about how he should be able to return things be bought months ago and that were obviously used already.

Letting out his sigh, he put his pencils randomly on a shelf and headed for the exit.]

Option 2 - Arts and Crafts Fair
[This wasn't his thing usually though he flattered himself in thinking he was good at drawing, if only it was buildings and very utilitarian. It was all part of being an architect, to be able to draft the design in your head out onto paper. One of his older sisters liked these though and her birthday was coming up soon, so here he was, browsing through assorted handmade knicknacks offered by smiling artists with bright (almost too bright) smiles). He picked up a...thing...maybe it was a sculpture?..made of pieces of metal and ribbons. ]

[Nothing like the subway at night to show you the bowels of humanity. Tate has his Skull Candy headphones over his tousled blond hair, nodding his head slightly along with the music. He jiggles his leg and stares at the ads on the subway car, and then sweeps the aisles for anyone interesting to observe. He really has no desire to go home, but he can only avoid it so long.]

[Ah, it would be his luck it begins to rain the one day Eliot decides to enjoy a walk outside. It had been sunny when he had set out so he was not quite prepared when the drops begin to fall.

[With a busy schedule, it's not often Eliot is able to get out during the day. There are breaks but it's never enough to stretch his legs and actually do anything besides outside the hospital

Then there are the days when he can actually enjoy the day without knowing he has to rush back in to work in short order. So he decides to make use of it and check out the Arts and Crafts Fair that day after hearing about it from various acquaintances.]

[Killian's set up at the Fair again, though this time he's not just advertising himself. If someone asks about more complicated pieces, he hands them one of the smithy's cards and asks them to go through there.

[The arts and crafts fair needed security. It was a major event with lots of people and, despite the fact that the danger level at the arts and crafts fair was absolutely minimal, it was a community event and some police support wouldn't go amiss, in case of danger. At least, that was what the officiators said, so the Locke City Police Department was more than willing to spare their most expendable some of their finest to make sure that nobody shoplifts the macrame.

The most expendable turned out to be the new guy who was already on probation. So, instead of fighting crime and protecting the law, like Paul wanted to be doing, he was here, making sure that teenagers didn't stab each other with the knitting needles.

He hated his life.
