TEST DRIVE MEME

Test Drive Meme!

Scenarios:
> The Park. Man, what a nice day out. Why not enjoy it? I'm sure -- shit, yep, there's some echo monsters.
> The Mall. Exactly what it says on the tin! Dodge the hordes of teenage mallrats or take part, whichever suits your tastes.
> Rainy Day. Agh, it's fucking awful out. And is it raining those vermilion things?? Now you've got an Echo to contend with on top of everything else. Find some shelter, quick!
> PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. HOW FUN
> Arts and Crafts Fair. All the kitschy fun you can imagine.
> Wild Card! Make up your own.

Oh no. Just, uh. Chilling. [ ... Thankfully, she doesn't let the joke stretch out for too long. She hugs her bundle a little closer. ] I'm just waiting for a ride. We didn't realize that the shop would be closed by now.

Wasn't earlier. [She lets her in now, opening the door just wide enough so the other female can come through and closing it past her so rain and cold won't get in.]

Rising gang crime made people stay home at night. [The blood keys especially in this area - but she's never sure how much about them is actually common knowledge, so she's a bit more vague.]

[ A whispered Allahu akbar slips out of her mouth before she can stop it as she walks inside. Now that she can hear the shop worker a bit more clearly, that's certainly an unusual way of speaking. Is she foreign? ]

... Well, when you put it that way, it was kind of a bad idea to come out alone. [ She laughs nervously. Are there any men here? She'd reaaally like to know before she even tried pulling her hijab off to dry, but she knows better than to ask. Awkward. ] But I made it, right? If the shop had been open, it would have been totally worth it.

[She nods, and there is a faint look of... well, it is curiosity, but it just comes out as an intense gaze.

The only muslims that she's ever seen back home were all Somali, and there are so few hijabi women in Locke that she has never consciously encountered one. At least not in the areas that she tends to walk around in. Not that she thought that all muslims were black, she's not dense and watches TV, but still. It's new.

...but as she looks at the other female a bit too intensely, she realizes that the girl really is dripping wet.]

Come. [The storefront is made of glass, but the staff room is windowless - and also warmer and contains a heater. She hopes that that will work to convince this not-patron to dry herself a bit. Sure, she's not obliged to do this, but at the same time she'd really not want someone to get sick when she can help it.]
