[Gabriel was more prepared when he set out on his walk, escaping from the paperwork currently littering his desk. He could see the clouds on the horizon, out beyond the city when he looked out his window, and although he didn't think twice about it, grabbed his umbrella on the way out.

Still, he hadn't expected it to be quite this heavy, and he was thinking about taking shelter under the trees when he notices someone has beaten him to it - someone in an expensive suit. Gabriel might not be the type to wear expensive clothing off duty, but he recognises it at least. He has to.]

Here, I think you need this more than I do. [He offers out the umbrella with a wry smile. It's a bit late, really, but better late than never? Gabriel's shirt and jeans won't suffer too much in the rain, and he's content to wait it out anyway. Longer he's out, longer he can put off that paperwork.]

[ As a general rule, Teagan is suspicious of anything being handed to him. That is, at least, from people not on his payroll. He's never been quite in the business of accepting gifts or favors, as he's found people always want something in return that he wasn't so keen on giving. Favors didn't really exist, only bribes under a kind light.

So for a moment he just frowns, debating what to do. On one hand, Gabriel seems put-together and, for some reason, like his sort of people. Taking the umbrella would also save his suit from further damage. Still, accepting pity, he doesn't know if he can handle it.

When he speaks his words are firm, but polite. ]

I don't need it, thank you.

[One eyebrow rises, and there's a little amusement there as his eyes dart back to the suit.]

Are you sure? It'd be a shame to ruin your suit.

[There's no pity for the man there, except for, perhaps, his wallet.]

[ And of course, he's right. He sighs through his nose and shakes his head, before holding out a hand to motion for the umbrella. ]

[Of course he's right. Gabriel doesn't hide a small chuckle as he passes it over.]

It's a Brooks Brothers, right? [He asks with a nod towards it. And surprisingly, given the state of his jeans, the umbrella that he hands over is also branded, a freebie. He gets quite a few of them still (although these days often with the condition that he doesn't have them when he does something stupid like chaining himself for a tree - although they don't seem to mind when he's with the homeless).] It's a nice one.
