He digs through the stroller for a moment and places a cloth over Gabriel's shoulder that he can use in case the kid wakes up and needs a different position. "I'll be back." And then he is gone, and will be gone for a bit. When him and the girls return almost twenty minutes later, both children are working their ways through a cone of ice cream while Thorir is holding two - one for himself and one for his friend. Sometimes he has soft moments, okay, shhh don't look.

But he forces it away when he spots Thorir returning, though he doesn't stop humming the lullaby that he started without really noticing. "Two ice creams? Isn't your grandpa greedy, girls?" He asks with a cheeky grin.

His own children would have had to sit down before starting to eat at that age, but he has promised to not go against the way in which Inger and her fiance raise the children, at least not behind their backs and definitely never in front of the children; and small things like those are a part of that.

"Mint." Thorir hands the cone over. "I just went ahead and assumed that you still liked that."

"Thanks, mate." Well, Thorir can take that as a yes, as Gabriel accepts the cone. "Do you want Simon back?" ...Although maybe that would be best to wait until they have their hands free. It might be a bit tricky right now.

At his friend's words, he shrugs, though. "He seems to enjoy midnight-meals right now, no matter how much or little sleep he has had." Which he only knows through stories, luckily -. the backhouse is far enough from the main apartment to not be woken by the baby.
