TEST DRIVE MEME

Scenarios:
> The Park. Man, what a nice day out. Why not enjoy it? I'm sure -- shit, yep, there's some echo monsters.
> The Mall. Exactly what it says on the tin! Dodge the hordes of teenage mallrats or take part, whichever suits your tastes.
> Rainy Day. Agh, it's fucking awful out. And is it raining those vermilion things?? Now you've got an Echo to contend with on top of everything else. Find some shelter, quick!
> PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. HOW FUN
> Arts and Crafts Fair. All the kitschy fun you can imagine.
> Wild Card! Make up your own.
Elrond | Tolkien/Middle Earth
[Ah, it would be his luck it begins to rain the one day Eliot decides to enjoy a walk outside. It had been sunny when he had set out so he was not quite prepared when the drops begin to fall.
The damage is done as the rain comes down harder and he makes for the nearest large tree which appears could offer some kind of shelter from the storm.]
Arts and Crafts Fair
[With a busy schedule, it's not often Eliot is able to get out during the day. There are breaks but it's never enough to stretch his legs and actually do anything besides outside the hospital
Then there are the days when he can actually enjoy the day without knowing he has to rush back in to work in short order. So he decides to make use of it and check out the Arts and Crafts Fair that day after hearing about it from various acquaintances.]

Right now, he's got one of the circlets he made before going to work for Thorir out as well as several necklaces]

May I?

Your workmanship is very impressive.
[And it truly is, he would not say that simply to be polite. Then there is the fact that holding the circlet in his hands seems familiar.]
And how soon do you think you could have it remade?
no subject
Depends. If you want it to look exactly like that, a day or two? If you want it customized it'll take me a little longer since I'd have to get more materials.
no subject
Is there a way I could contact you to discuss a customized piece?
no subject
[He hands him one of his cards and one of the smithy's]
That one's my personal contact, but I also work for them so either one'll get it made.
no subject
[Eliot gives him a smile, nodding his head in thanks as he took both cards.]
I take it you have been honing your skills for a long time?

Avo garo! ['Don't do it!' The dog skids to a halt and and cocks its head in the universal sign of animal confusion. Emboldened Julien tells it that he is not food, and then to run back to its master. After a bewildered pause, the dog shakes itself - Julien flinches a bit - and pads heavily away, tail starting to wag before it gets out of sight.]
[Julien sags with relief, letting out an inhumanly long sigh.]

You seem to have a talent with animals.
no subject
Oh, uh... Suil. Sorry, I didn't realize you were there.
['Greeting'. Recently he's pulsed back greeting people in flashy languages, and Elvish is the most striking one he knows. Most people give a language they don't know a second thought but no more, so he's not hugely concerned.]
I'm not so good with dogs, but - really, with most animals you just have to know how to talk to them. A firm voice and not running away seems to work. [He smiles a little wryly.]
no subject
[It's still pouring but since Julien doesn't seem to mind company, he sees no reason why they can't share it for awhile until the storm abates.]
It seems you have some experience in handling animals. [A slight smile, it's friendly though.] Forgive my rude manners, my name is Eliot, it's a pleasure to meet you even under circumstances such as these [he remarks as he gives the storm a glance.]
no subject
[He genuinely loves meeting and talking to people. Small encouragement goes a long way.]
Ah, well, I've had a little! Mostly recent.
Personally - I like being out in the rain. It's cold, but if you ignore the cars out there it just sounds so restful, don't you think? [Quiet for the moment, he smiles up at the pine needles over their heads, not minding the drips.]
no subject
[He moves closer to the trunk at the invitation with a small smile of thanks. Eliot allows silence to fall between them for a few moments after Juilen speaks, allowing himself to simply enjoy the silence. He doesn't getting a little bit wet, it's enough to have shelter from the worst of the rain with some company as an added bonus.]
no subject
He's covered up, but his bare face and head still radiate heat, like he has a high fever.]
I like all the snow we've been getting just for how it looks, but man, I'm really tired of shoveling the clinic out. It's like one of the last areas they'll send people through to clear, and I never feel like I can just, y'know, cut a path and say that's good.
no subject
[Eliot doesn't visit the LSR Clinic much and then only to make sure the arrangements of his donation are in order with his godson and perhaps to check out things are running.]

He's examining an elderberry jam now, trying to decide between a large jar of that or the rhubarb strawberry. hmmm. ]
no subject
I recommend the elderberry jam here, especially with toast in the morning.
no subject
That tartness would be nice, but perhaps not paired with a strong cup of coffee.
no subject
Rhubarb has a good taste with coffee, especially with a bit of strawberry.
no subject
[ He shoots Elliot another look at that, and then one at that black current jam. ]
Don't have any of that, she adds too much sugar to that, spoils the tartness of the currants.

[He glances over at Teagan with the hints of a smile, almost as if he's amused. Ah how he had missed this.]
no subject
You can always make your own. It's not hard.
no subject
I've read on it before but never got the chance to try it for myself yet so perhaps I will then. [It's what happens when you work practically every day of the week and manage having even adult kids, sadly.]
