In the fandom, I'm certain that Stella is pretty steadily ignored in favor of more shippable characters, or used as a plot device to get two characters together and is usually written with very little personality that plays up her protective side. Most people have figured out the pirate thing, but feel like the bloodthirst is over the top and unrealistic. She's so fluffy and cute! How could she have such black and white views of the world?

The other half of her fandom is the furry fandom. I won't talk about that half.

Played by the newcomer to the acting scene Tanaka Rin, Marisa has had some time to work her way into the Fandom's brain. Tanaka is actually fairly subdued off-screen, and doesn't make lots of appearances on the convention circuit.

- The fandom latched on to her being trigger happy with magic. She kind of is, but they've exaggerated it to "hit that annoying fly with a master spark" levels.
- Shipping wars between Marisa/Bakura and Marisa/Alex (She usually tops), with a small but growing Marisa/Reimu faction making their presence known.
- A surprising amount of Marisa giving Danielle piggy back rides.
- People have started to forget she's Texan now that she's remembering Japanese, and so there's a lot of "Bakura-kuuuun" and other such garbage.
- Some people predict really intense hatred and rivalry between Marisa and Roselle, citing Marisa's echo about Remilia and their first awkward meeting when Marisa took Dani flying. Lots of pictures of dramatic eye contact with Dani looking tragic in the background.
- The recent arc where Marisa freaked out about sort of killing Proud sparked a lot of back and forth flame. Some people compared it to Shinji Ikari (OU Shinji Ikari, not the one in Save the Earth), yelling at her to man up and get in the robot, figuratively speaking. Then they got countered by people who used phrases like Clinical Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Then in the next episode she got high and calmed down and no one was sure WHAT to think!
- And of course, the big question: In Marisa and Reimu's shared past, Did Marisa actually try to steal the moon? The popular (and totally wrong) opinion is that she did, leading to a confrontation with Reimu. This leads to truly terrifying speculation on just how powerful Marisa and Reimu ARE.

Bakura (Ryou/Yami/Thief)

There are at least two factions at war regarding Bakura in the fandom, those who claim he and Marisa are going to fall in true love (or already have) and those who claim that Bakura and Hajime are the true pairing.

SO much speculation for where Marisa and Bakura are going, and neither of the actors are saying anything. Marisa's just grins like an idiot and then changes the subject.

Gerald/Garrus

Being a new character (and a relatively attractive dude of a certain age), Gerald is currently a bit of the "flavour of the week" in fandom. There's a lot of speculation on whether or not his FBI agent background's going to come into play more with the police plot, or the crack theory that he's actually a plant by the aliens to infiltrate the network.

Fandom-wise, he's played up as INCREDIBLY SUBMISSIVE. Like seriously, if he's talked to a guy or girl, there's probably been some S&M stories about them. Heck, even if he HASN'T talked to him. Popular ships are probably Sheila/Gerald (with fandom latching onto the theory that they somehow knew each other in a past life thanks to her hands causing an echo) and Jin/Gerald (because EYEBROWS and VOICE). ALWAYS expect him to be straight-laced and obsessed with the rules.

Speculation on his past life is pretty straightforward, since he apparently has a "past" with Mordin. Someone in fandom's probably come up with some weird "true love" thing but who even knows it's fandom.

People probably also really like his voice too, and describe it in insane detail.

Kotetsu Kaburagi

In fics that don't center on Kotetsu, he's generally relegated to silly comic relief shenanigans, with his sole contribution to the story being the biggest failure at life that humanity has ever known.

When he does take center stage, it's often a different picture. His clumsiness and silliness, and in some cases, even his friendly demeanor and kind, altruistic tendencies are merely an act--a facade to hide his Deeply Tortured Soul. Especially popular with teenagers, this type of fics often uses song lyrics which reappear in-universe as songs he listens to while tearfully composing love poetry to his dead wife. He cries constantly in private from the strain of smiling and laughing so much in front of others, usually while writing in his diary about his soul-crushing loneliness. Fanfic writers of this variety tend to dismiss any negative reviews they get, asserting that the reviewers do not understand Kotetsu's beautiful suffering the way they do.

In either case, fandom is generally agreed that Kotetsu does not have two brain cells to rub together, and writes him with the attention span of a squirrel. Things need to be explained to him in excruciating detail, and often more than once. If he figures something significant out, expect it to be of the "it's so stupid it might just work" variety. That being said, he's a fucking saint, and anyone who so much as looks at him wrong deserves to die in the most horrible ways possible. Now that his echoes have confirmed his preincarnation's status as a superhero, many fics in which he's involved in fight scenes portray him as a godmoding badass, ignoring the current canonical limitations of his power, because only five minutes of superstrength at a time is a clear violation of the Rule of Cool. In other cases, Kotetsu's own raging stupidity is what screws him and the other reincarnates over, Hoist By His Own Petard-style. His superstrength in this kind of fic is actually more dangerous to himself and his allies than the actual enemy because he's just that incompetent.

On the flip side of the coin, Secretly Evil fics are pretty popular too, in which the kindhearted old man is actually a mole. Sometimes his Start of Darkness comes from losing his wife, and he joins the bad guys due to the Eldritch Abomination promising to bring her back. Heel Face Turns in which he discovers the error of his ways are common in these fics, though they vary between making him a real part of the ensemble cast or taking the Redemption Equals Death route.

Other times he's just a sadist who derives great pleasure from watching his fellow reincarnates suffer. He reveals he was in on Paul's death all along and Proud is the first step along the path of ultimately selling everyone out for power.

Shipping with Kotetsu is pretty much all over the place. Police shipping is the most popular, with Kotetsu/Nick and Kotetsu/Melissa being the frontrunners, though a vocal minority advocates Kotetsu/Karl for how "dark and edgy" it has the possibility to be, considering their mutual experiences with loss. There's also the occasional ot3 fic of Kotetsu/Nick/Yuji or Kotetsu/Melissa/Nick (completely ignoring Nick and Yuji's canonical significant others), and one particularly infamous fic in which every numbered cop participates in a giant orgy--while at work.

Then there are the creepier parts of the fanbase that ship with the child characters on the show, often emphasizing their deep-seated daddy-issues. Other parts of fandom have him devoted to his dead wife to the point of disturbing obsession, and the occasional crazycakes fan who has him believe he's still with her on the astral plane.However, some fans cling to the Echo he had about someone being missing in his life, and are holding out for this mysterious character to become his love interest. Discussion on this person's possible identity often devolve into frothing debates on his sexuality. With Barnaby now the only character thus far known to be from his "past life" universe, the question of whether Barnaby is that person is highly polarizing in STE fandom.

Regardless of the pairing or lack thereof, there's always at least one joke about him not being able to get off in every fic.

There has probably been some Kotetsu/Gerald hurt/comfort fic out there where Kotetsu saves Gerald from his abusive father because Gerald mentioned ONCE that he argued a bit with his dad and clearly that means he's evil and abusive and yeah.

Chris | Starscream

Much like the real life Transformers fandom, there is now a large contingent of people who, upon seeing Chris' slow slide into amorality, think her past life must have been some sort of ~noble tragic antihero~. They think this regardless of evidence to the contrary, especially since Chris herself still has many decent human being moments.

There's an equally large group who fucking despise her and hate the fact that she's with Shiro because they want to ship Shiro with all the hawt boiz. There's a small minority who just think that Chris, Shiro, and Shou should have a threesome already, but they're outnumbered by the BLAR CHRIS IS EVIL AND SHOULD DIEE SHIRO DESERVES BETTARRR.

There's another small group who just think the relationship seems forced and that she should have stayed a lone warrior. And finally, there's the small group who is eagerly waiting Bonnie and Clyde style shenanigans with Shiro and Chris; this is the same group who not only holds that her preincarnation was evil, but actually revels in the idea of villainy. But they're pretty outnumbered by the other two groups.

Fandom Alex is often portrayed as leaning too far in the wangsty vampire corner or the cheerful idiot corner. The slashers will pair him up with any dude he's talked to around his age despite the fact that he hasn't shown an ounce of romantic or sexual interest in any of them. Probably lots of Alex/John M because they hit it off easily and are both vampires. ... There are probably some who ship him with Banagher but the very thought makes me cringe so I'm stopping here.

Alternatively, Mary Sues/Gary Stus are made to soothe his ~conflicted soul~ because he's a vampire and I don't think that's escapable in the world of fic.

One day, someone showed an Alex/Nick/Sherman fic to Alex's actor. He read it, finished it, and didn't say a word about it. No one knew what he thought of it until Sherman's actor was a few feet away with his back facing him and Alex's actor spontaneously did a hip thrust in his direction.

His "coming out as vampire" during that movie night has convinced a small subset of the fandom primarily active on Tumblr that undeath is a metaphor thus justifying shipping of him with dudes, including if not especially also-a-vampire John.

Well, since the last time we had one of these memes...

Most of the fandom is nodding their heads going "ah, I see, so they finally decided to reveal he's a ghost." A small portion of the fandom is screaming "NO, HE'S NOT DEAD, HE'S SOMETHING ELSE AND THIS IS JUST A RED HERRING OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE ALL SO STUPID TO FALL FOR IT!!!!"

Everyone thinks he's gay and just really far in the closet. They're all waiting for him to break up with his off-screen girlfriend and FINALLY get together with Walter. A very vocal minority, though, ships Danny/Skyler in particular. They are going WILD with this latest episode in particular, it's spurred a lot of capslock keysmashing and all sorts of fanart. People keep posting gifs of Skyler's possession and writing extremely in-depth romantic tag essays about it. This side of the fandom gets very very kinky and porny too. Meanwhile, the rest of the fandom is wailing "OH MY GOD, HE'S FIFTEEN, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU" from the corner.

Some fans are convinced that Danny is slowly turning into a villain, starting with the earthquake and leading up to Proud's death and Skyler's possession. The last one in particular has people worried about Danny's sudden angry outbursts and moral slips. A lot of fanart has come out lately predicting what Danny will be like later on--it's a lot of him looking a few years older and wearing the dumb spandex suit while being very confident, suave, and sexy. The captions are always along the lines of "why does evil have to be soooooo hot SWOON~"

Also: most fans hate the puns. They consciously exclude them in fics because they're just so shitty omg the puns are the worst thing to happen to Danny's character EVER so far on the show.

So fandom both cheered and sneered at the reveal of Richard Locke actually being a cop. Some people think that it should have been revealed way more dramatically with like KARL POINTING THE GUN AT A REINCARNATE AND BEING PRESSURED NOT TO SHOOT SO HE SHOOTS THE COP URGING HIM ON INSTEAD. Others were just cooing at the poor baby who had to go through this harsh drama. In general, fandom either loves him or finds him overrated.

The ships for Karl are HIGHLY plagued with OCs and mary sues who want to cure his wounded heart after the death of his wife. Some fic and fanart exists for Karl/Lyall, some rather erm interesting ones popped up on the drama of him coming out as a cop. Karl/other cops or, more recently, Karl/certain fbi agent fics have popped up. Horrifyingly enough, there are things involving Karl and good chunk of his students, Danny likely being the front runner while Skyler is in close second with their ROGUE FORBIDDEN ROMANCE THAT NEITHER GIVE A DAMN IS FORBIDDEN (and maybe an odd hateful threesome idek). Some people do ship Karl/Naomi for the science factor BUT this ship has the most rabid, crazy fans who do all the flame wars. Also, Karl/Lloyd is a thing. There is fanart. Intense fanart.

In rp, people either play up the linefacing to a horrible degree or the drama. Karl comes off as either this emotionless MR COOL NEVER DOES ANYTHING SILLY or is just constantly wallowing in his eternal guilt while drinking Frappucinos. It is popular to rp out Lloyd finally telling him the truth in one of two ways: a. Lloyd tells him and they hug and tears and kisses or b. Karl magically finds out and emos forever. Fandom loves the emo. So much.

Hajime Aikawa

Hajime's a popular one for the shipping if only because someone must tame this horrible giant bug monster makes for excellent shippy fic in the eyes of the fandom. Thomas, Shou, and Bakura are all very popular here. He also gets shipped with other monster people in some kind of mutual monster angst bonding time, especially with Lyall since he's been over there pretty reliably for every full moon.

Fanon still holds that he must be a giant slob because he is a giant cockroach despite any evidence to the contrary, and whoever he's being shipped with will often help him clear his terrifying pigsty of an apartment in fluffy fics.

Fandom is also quite interested in this new development that Hajime has a cousin who also has green bugman blood, and they're betting it's only a matter of time before monster secrets will be revealed. There's a lot of fic devoted to trying to flesh this out. Clearly, the cockroach monster empire is about to rise.

Shou's actor does not help in the shipping wars, especially with some of the behind-the-scenes training sessions show him and Hajime goofing around in totally 'if you squint it looks like they are practicing sex' way.

Shiro Nakamura!

Most of the former still applies! But now that Mamoru has left the show, a lot of fans have given up on that ship. Some still doggedly hold on, hoping Mamoru will return one day or writing AU fic where he never left.

In lieu of Mamoru, people have started shipping him more with Shou because all teh subtext!! And the Shiro/Chris shippers rejoiced when Mamoru left, too. NOW NOTHING IS IN THE WAY OF THEIR LOVE.

The vore fanfic only exploded more when Shiro ate Danny, and that's a ship now too. Ship all the things. Furries are liking him more and more as he develops monstery traits. there's also a weird SJW sect that uses the monster brigade as some sort of weird soapbox but we don't talk about them.

There's also lots of fics where Shiro kills and prepares pigeons but who knows where that even came from.

Tater/Torin

The fandom is quite frequently likely to default to old parrot stereotypes like Polly wanting a cracker despite canon Tater's insistence that he doesn't like them. He hasn't been around long enough for them to form any very strong opinions of, although some of them will get super grumpy that he's there because this is a serious show and all of the talking animals cheapen it and drag it down into being for kids.

Fandom does not know what to make of the parrot's association with the dinosaurs; clearly, he must be some random subspecies of Jurassic parrot. (Were parrots even around in the Jurassic period? Sure they were, right there with T-rex! So says the fandom that does its research.)

Julien Sakazaki

Only a few diehards believe Julien's turning into an angel now. His teeth falling out pretty well sealed it. That said very few people think he'll be completely a bird. He must be some kind of many-limbed Maximum Ride-style mutant. Since there hasn't been a demonstration of how animals understand elvish, many fans think animal communication is a power of his. It's often speculated that he'll be able to command animals - maybe just birds. There's some speculation that the pigeons which survived his virus and often appear in bit parts now are his familiars or something.

Characterizationwise he's still pretty varied but tends to always be very emotional, excessively weepy, and in general clings to people. A small but vocal undercurrent says he's actually faking it and doesn't actually care about anyone because he usually seems happy and cheerful.

Also he's addicted to athelas, which has whichever effects the writer wants, from a comical weed-analogue to hallucinations to something serious and angsty.

The introduction of the character known as Rakka has lent a few more fans to the angel theory. Although, with the revelation of their most current meeting, many assume it will just lead to more depressing moments as the show goes on.

Winry Thalberg

I can see Winry getting a lot of negative responses as she did in canon. People who dislike her being an aggressive/temperamental female, people thinking she must be a bimbo because of her work clothing. It wouldn't be as bad since she wouldn't be 'getting in the way of ships' or 'stealing someone's X from them' but there would be that initial dislike. There might also be some people who think the show's creators are trying to push an agenda by having her be so great at typically male dominated fields--especially with the gaming.

Eventually though people might come around. She could get pretty popular depending on her actions and ship wise she tends to be paired with girls more than boys as that is her predilection but as of now there really aren't any popular ships with her.

Most people in the StE fandom can't quite get a good handle on Jovan. They usually swing too far in one direction--either ruthless, heartless asshole who tears everyone down just to laugh while they cry in front of him, or sad precious kawaii babbu omg no pls don't cry. A lot of fans get suckered into his adorable puppy dog face and then can never claw their way back out. As a result, he's a very polarizing character--some people absolutely despise him and others adore him.

Current thoughts on his preincarnation pretty much match up with what Jovan on the show thinks himself. It's kind of hard to get any picture out of his echoes other than "yup, he sure is turning into some sick serial killer." The fans who hate him take it as proof that he's going to end up an antagonist that everyone will have to take down. The fans who love him take it as an opportunity to woobify him as much as they possibly can. (There are tons of H/C fics with Jovan being comforted by Holly and sometimes Angeline when he starts crying about what a horrible murderer he must have been. They always end with him embracing who he is now and not who he was, and resolving to stay strong despite his echoes....but if he ever needs to have a good cry again, their shoulders are always welcome.)

Some fans think he's going to get superpowers, but a lot of the fanbase is just like P'SHAW, WHAT'S YOUR PROOF. They have good reason to be suspicious, but given that it was just one throwaway echo several episodes back that hasn't been brought up since, most of the fanbase missed it and doesn't really care.

ON THE SHIPPING END OF THINGS, Jovan gets paired up a lot with Alan's mom. There are at least 10 AMVs of Jovan and Alan's mom set to Stacy's Mom out there--and they're all kinda crap and reuse footage because she's got so little screentime that they only have like 10 seconds' worth of footage of her to use at all. (There is a lot of "Jovan is now Alan's stepdad!" fic too. It usually ends in porn.) There's a much smaller faction that ships Jovan and Angeline but they're pretty quiet.

Also, thanks to Jovan and his and Tavia's fic, the fandom has grabbed hold of armpit sex + rhino cock and run with it. It's given the StE fandom a horrible reputation among other fandoms.

Nick Burkhardt

Fanon was two reigning theories about Nick's past life at the moment - that he really was a violent monster hunter who borderlines as a serial killer, or that all these echoes he's getting are misleading and he's really a ~monsters' bff~ and works against his kind, protecting the poor misunderstood monsters from the mean, terrible hunters.

Theory about Nick's arc on the show pretty much depends on which of the two camps fans are in - the first tends to think that Nick is going to eventually go over to the dark side as he gets more echoes, and betray the network for the aliens and cops, while the second camp has him staunchly on the side of the network and often ends in ~noble sacrifices~.

Nick's actor has been asked about both theories and seems to think both of them are entertaining, and likes to play both of them up on different occasions.

There's a lot of shipping, because it's fandom and because I love OOC-shipping speculation fun. Nick/Monroe's had a decent sized following since their first meeting inspired a joint echo, but they haven a reputation for being unbearably smug since their pairing become "canon". Nick/Kotetsu and Nick/Yuji also have huge followings, with Nick/Melissa making a strong appearance. Nick/Lyall has grown a huge following, so much that fans suspect the jokes about Karl trying to set Nick up with Lyall as barely hidden subtext.

There's a lot of Nick/monster person pairing fics that love to play up the ~I was a monster hunter but for you I'm changing my ways,~ or alternatively focus on the angst and possible betrayal.

On the non-shipping side of things, there's a lot of "family" fluff fic with Nick, Axlex, and Anthony, or with the crew at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

...and there's probably a bunch of monster kink because that seems likely. Theories that Nick has a vampire fetish since he's been bitten by both vampires, other theories about a werewolf fetish because he's dated two of them and has "ship-teasing" with a third, wild crazy theories that come from no where.

Then there's Nick/Sherman, Nick/Sherman/Alex, and Nick/Sherman/Ray, which gets more and more convoluted as time goes on and involves more and more crazy theories about betrayal and hatesex and forbidden love.

Karl's actor was once asked about the Karl potentially setting up Lyall and Nick thing. His reply was that why not? They'd make a cute couple and he'd ship it.

Killian Ryan

The fandom is basically torn over if the whole Thorsson connection was planned all along or just thrown in there when Fil and Thorir's actors were hired. (The answer is the last one but you know fandom. And it's not like the writers will admit to either.) There's also the tension with Blaine he had over Chloe, adding fuel to the shipping fires. People now ship him and Blaine, though, so that's a thing.

And then there's Skyler. The Killian/Skyler fandom is the crazy half of the fandom, though some good gen stuff comes out of it.

As for his preincarnation, everyone and their dog thinks the Dwarf thing is a diversion and he's really just normal sized. Despite there being canon stating he's a Dwarf, they refuse to believe it.

there are two betting pools for when and how badly killian will react to the whole skyler is a blood key thing. the first is among the fandom, of course. the second is among the actors. (of course, killian and skyler's actors are not allowed to bet in the pool, but it's just going to show that they've been dragging out this reveal for a while)

Arthur Curry/Aquaman

Fandom usually sees Arthur as nothing but a simpleton good for LOUD COMIC RELIEF. Even though he's got super strength and some measure of invulnerability, he's still got all that water-related stuff going on for him. What good's he going to be when he's not near the ocean? They think he's useless outside of the water.

Some parts of fandom are still convinced that he's going to turn into some animal-themed superhero, and they're convinced the name Aquaman is just a red herring. He's probably actually Animal Man, clearly. Why else would he get along with all the talking animals?

He and Cinderella were once turned into a pair of seahorses for a shippy fic. Seahorses seemed like the best compromise.

Re: Arthur Curry/Aquaman

Granny Curry is basically Cupid in every shipfic Arthur gets paired in.

Phillip Santorini

The fandom's pretty split on Phillip still- either he's the adorable, hopeful one of the kid's bunch (since most of the rest of them are having SOME kind of major issue), or he's the obnoxious gary stu and god, they made him immortal BUT WE WANTED HIM TO DIE THE LITTLE BRAT.

As far as backstories go, most people are in the camp of some sort of villain/monster, thanks to a majority of his echos being either negative or creepy or powerful, or some mix of the three. A subset of this group is the one that thinks he was actually a mastermind in his past life and will slowly gain that back and use his adorable and clueless persona lol I made a joke to win people over and then take over the network/world. Some of these people even think that's already happened. The other main group tends to focus on his social echos, saying he was kidnapped and experimented on later and look he was so cute at one point right??

Sadly there is still shipping for the eleven year old- mostly with his fellow bitties. Phillip/Henry is one of the kid ships, because of child logic that if you like someone you're mean to them so clearly Henry likes him a lot. There's a little bit of Toushirou/Luke/Phillip, but he usually winds up the third wheel in those fics. As he's interacting more with the older kids, some puppy-crush fic is emerging. As far as his personality and past goes, the old meme still basically holds true. Fay's latest Echoes seem to hint at some hugely tragic shit in his past life too, prompting fans to completely ignore the happy/neutral memories and write a million over-the-top angsty vampire fics but none so over-the-top as his actual canon past lbr.

Of course, since he's a down-to-earth worker in the sex industry, while Youou is cultured and rich, you can't throw a fucking brick in his side of the fandom without hitting a Pretty Woman AU.

In smut he's still either a kawaii uguu uke who cries while having sex and is forever the pregnant Omega, or all Dark And Edgy, involving a lot of blood play, mental torture of Youou, and a complete guide in how not to write BDSM. The latter side sees the collar Youou Echoed back as Incontestable! Proof! that this was their relationship in their past life. The uke-Fay part counter with Youou's bad temper, and a huge and wanky war commences.

The rest of the fandom leans away and grimaces, and goes to write/read ridiculous fluff about Holly teaching Fay how to bake/crack involving Fay giving Kotetsu lessons in kinky sex.

When it comes to fandom, no one remembers that Mac is a college student. Nobody. Even when the fics center on him, they tend to assume that he's some sort of high school kid, junior or senior. This tends to get a lot of laughs out of Mac's actor, Joshua Davis - who tends to play along with it on the con scene, making a joke or three at his characters' expense.

However, fandom interpretations are often wildly inconsistent. He becomes something of a russian roulette in terms of the way people interpret him - a lot of them go for the "cold, heartless jerk" route which has seen less favor recently, and there's quite a few who completely disregard it in favor of making Mac out to be this overzealous, worrying, bumbling incompetent who is clearly just holding up the plot, god stop whining about murders you little twit. No matter what, though, they always bring up his dead mom. One of the running STE memes is Mac interrupting other characters with HEY HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT MY DEAD MOM YET. And when not played for laughs, he gets these overly tragic one-shots about how he's so alone and sobbing to himself and sobbing to other people because ~his life is so hard you guys~.

Insofar as ships, hilariously given his fact that there's no real romantic links in his current character arc, Mac is seen as quite the ship bait due to a mixture of being a smart-ass hot guy with a brooding backstory who dresses like a tool. Mac/Roxy has gained traction among those who have no qualms with age difference (much to the horror of basically everyone else), and Mac/Tavia is still going strong in the weird corner of fandom who pretends Alan doesn't exist. But if there's someone that Mac's bantered with, there's probably fic of them. Mac/Danny doesn't get a lot of porn but it does get a lot of fics about Mac playing older brother to him. There's also the likes of Mac/Ellie and Mac/Shou which is very much a subset of the fandom that makes everyone else go "what."

Recently Joshua has teased that soon Mac is gonna get him embroiled in some drama with some of the on-network Blood Keys, which has caused the fandom to explode in speculation and revving up ship wagons.

Anders' actor hasn't appeared in many episodes, so his character is as yet relatively unexplored and there isn't much fanfic about him. Rather, he appears as a comic cameo in other fic, though there is the occasional humorous drabble featuring him in a lead role -- usually focusing on a fanon interpretation of him as a furry, thanks to his interaction with Stella, or another interpretation of him as Guy With Nostril Fetish due to the scene where he spent some time trying to peer up Gerald's nose.

Being a rather new character, one would think Owen doesn't have much opinion about him one way or the other yet. Oh no, there is one opinion:

obnoxious.

Most of the fandom considers him the Scrappy in making. Between his hyper attitude and ridiculous gimmick he just can't be taken seriously. Some fangirls bemoan the waste of a decent backstory (dead parents and sudden mental breakdown) due to his crazy not being broody and dark- kid is way too happy.

Add in the fact that when compared to the issues his sister has in fandom over her more masculine talents... while he is the weepy, genki and bubbly one that writes fanfic and plays dress up. Yeah this is something fandom has noticed. The few fics he's in over do his German slips to the point his dialogue is even MORE incomprehensible.

A few have gotten it into their heads, after the MMO scene, that he's so wacky as a red herring and in fact in his babbling are clues to the over all plot. Like LOST only stupid.

He is only ever shipped with his sister.

As part of the magical girl deluge that populated the later portions of Season 1, there are a lot of things with Lily that get lumped in speculation of just what the purpose of all that may be, and why all of a sudden there are Precures with shared pasts cropping up when they had been fairly isolated before. Or why, really, only Lily, Jasmine, and Cherry have shared pasts in any respect. There is insistence in some corners that this must be SUPER IMPORTANT for some reason or another, and that imbalance just can't simply be just happenstance. Some believe that Lily and Jasmine's echoes may in fact be red herrings, set up to reveal a Shocking Twist that Lily is in fact somehow the villain in her past, and Jasmine a misunderstood hero.

These people are not listened to very often. It doesn't stop overly convoluted theories and tl;dr arguments about how that would work in the face of how utterly illogical it actually sounds.

However, given her friendly nature and perchance to chat up anyone and everyone for ungodly amounts of time, Lily has become something of a shipping bicycle in fandom, and especially with the most recent episode having mention of her sexuality calling several in fandom to have "called it", she's probably been paired somewhere with most of the other magical girls she's had significant interaction with, though most frequently Cherry, Winter, or... uh. Her sister with disturbing frequency. :|

And clearly, the calm, collected, serious-minded and intelligent senpai sort of character must be the dominant sort.

I mean. That makes the most sense, right?

Miles has... a weird fanbase. A lot of them absolutely gush about how cute he is, and completely ignore how much of a terrible little shit he can be to other people. He's their precious little kawaii shota who can do no wrong and is sooooo smart LOOK AT HIM HE'S ALWAYS RIGHT!!!1ONE! They also depict him crying a lot.

And here come the speculation about what he'd be like when he grows older. Some people think he's going to turn into a mad scientist and continue David Proud's work-- or even do a whole lot better than that old man, given Miles' contempt for stupid adults. Others think he's going to turn into a hipster, sneering at the mainstream things due to his refusal to conform with the other kids in school, and use his brain to elevate himself into a spot above all the rest.

Yet others, and these people make up the biggest voice in fandom's "how Miles will grow up" section, think that he'll go through an emo phase, considering how bad a whole lot of his echoes are. Fanworks depict him taking up black eyeliner, wearing nail polish and listening to screamo bands while lamenting the death of his past life mother. HIS LIFE SUCKS AND THERE'S NOTHING HE CAN DO ABOUT IT SO LEAVE HIM TO WALLOW IN HIS MISERY.

He gets shipped a lot with Kallie and Sophie. But yes, there have been a lot of shipping wars, and there have also been a whole lot of aged-up Miles fanworks just for the sake of being with Kallie. I'm not going to get very into depth about this because jfc he's prepubescent you crazy fucks.

In the milder side of things, there are also a lot of fics of him and his brother coming across each other on the network and dealing with the fallout. Some of the... weirder fics also say that his corgi Gingerbread is a reincarnate too, but nobody knows what the dog's true identity is. There also have been works of him as the Avatar thanks to Sophie's questioning, and there's actually an entire fic series (thankfully gen) of this.
