[He's kidding, but he gets a lot of that kind of attitude. Being homeless meant he put himself there, of course, because he was actually a dead beat piece of shit and not just a stupid kid.]

[By now Tony's pretty well devoured his sandwich, and finishes off the last few bites. Man did that ever hit the spot, he feels a lot better now. And a warm place to stay for the night? Best day all week.]

Nah, you're right that'd be stupid. You just get used to people thinkin' the worst of you sometimes, even if I know you don't.

[It's just habit. But no, Tony would never steal from Richard. The guy's been nothing but kind to him, and Dirk would never forgive him. Besides, he's pretty well stopped doing that since he met Dirk. Doesn't want to get the guy in trouble or have him think less of him, and he has less need to when he actually gets fed once in a while. It was never about money after all.]

Hey, I know I stick my foot in my mouth a lot, but I want you to know I really do appreciate all this. Just don't let Dirk know I got all sappy on you.
