I was planning stuff with a friend who used to play here; she's one of those players that's incredible at coming up with entertaining crazy shit in RP. Her making fun of something related to her character being a Neopet name somehow turned into us planning for him and Shinji to be Neofriends?! We made a lot of stupid plans that never happened because she didn't stick around but I got this out of it at least.

I have a ridiculous need to icon stupid shit like this. I actually need to change where I credited it to though because that person is elsewhere now.

If you had apped Misato instead of Asuka, what would her reincarnation have been like?

I suuuuuck at this meme anyway outside of Evangelion what are your thoughts on giant robot shows? Or outside of Evangelion and AoT what are your thoughts on emotionally unstable people in giant meat puppets shows, but I think that's a bit of a narrow genre.

I love giant robots but I'd get so many buttdevastated fanboys on my ass if I actually tried to call myself a mecha fan hahaha. A lot of the shows I've seen are the ones True Mecha fans would tell you don't count/are for casuals and I haven't seen a lot of the staples of the genre yet.

but really we need more emotionally unstable people in giant meat puppets, I am here for that.

Let me tell you about Gundam fandom.

Hm...the game I was at right before joining StE was Destiny Strings, which would mean my most recently played character before her was three people: the Jedi Exile, blank-slate protag of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, Latooni Suvota, a girl from official giant robot fanfiction called Super Robot Wars, and Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4, who I picked back up and made a Pokémon trainer back in January.

Looking at the two people I'm playing right now I really ought to pick up an adult again.

Any more app plans for this game? EDIT: Fuck someone asked you that already. Props for Devilman fandom though.

So which "casual" giant robot shows do you like then?

THE DEVILMAN CHARACTER WOULD THE MOST LIKELY TBH because I like seeing that kind of fuckery in STE but I rarely let myself go over three characters per game

ALRIGHT WELL I always feel like I'm missing something when I list this stuff but the two that I'd put in that category immediately are Code Geass and Star Driver. And I know Gurren Lagann is well-liked by mecha fanboys but it also doesn't give you any "cred"

do I get like maybe 2% cred for watching Gunbuster last week though.

TTGL is liked by everybody, hardcore or casual. It's that good, but it means elitists are dicks about it. Code Geass and Star Driver only "don't count" because American mecha fanboys don't like male characters who are prettier than they are.

Gunbuster's a definite classic, though. I think you've officially watched everything actually good by Gainax now.

I used to say Martian Successor Nadesico, but even I have to admit I only like it because it was the first one I sat down and watched seriously.

I'm going to probably go with Original Gundam here? Although I actually prefer the compilation films for being better paced...you know what, it's a series of films. Gundam Movie Trilogy. There we go.

If you could see one new canon in StE, played by yourself or someone else, doesn't matter, what would you want to see?

What's your list of characters you'd app to this game if you had endless free time and endless AU ideas?

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

-Mao from Disgaea. At first I thought he wouldn't be as much fun to play here since I feel like a lot of what I enjoy about him comes from the cultural difference between demons and human, but since the demon definition of "honor student" is the exact opposite of the human one I thought it'd be funny to make him a human honor student and watch him echo into the other direction.

-Ryo Asuka/Satan from Devilman. In canon, he has his memory wiped so he can fully, truly think like a human being, but Ryo eventually slowly starts to realize there are a lot of huge holes in his life that don't add up, and after a lot of confusion and horror realizes he's Satan. God placed him in an endless timeloop where he has to more or less repeat all of that over and over again and I'd love to add another layer to that with an STE reincarnation getting echoes of it.

-Accelerator from To Aru because he's my favorite. I couldn't work out an AU I liked enough though, since he's so dependent on really really ridiculous circumstances that would be super hard to parallel in a way I was satisfied with. I don't want him to go TOO far with differences, after all.

-Huey Laforet from Baccano! He'd be a brilliant poor kid, a senior or junior in high school with a single mom who's really the only person he cares about. And he'd slowly grow into a worse and worse villain character.

-you know about Hanji can you imagine Hanji teaching. I can't decide if I like college biology professor or high school biology teacher better though.

I'd also be tempted to app other mecha pilots if I didn't play Shinji tbh.
