Questions Meme

As first posted here by Emely!:

1. Make a thread for yourself in this post, listing the characters you play and your own name.
2. Go find someone's thread to jump and ask them A QUESTION. The question can be anything, RP related is common, of course, but not necessary. Who do you want to app most? What does Character A think about Character B? What's your favorite flavor of icecream?
3. Answer all questions asked of you! Once you have answered, end your response with a question for the person who first questioned you. This is important to keep the discussion going and going.
4. This goes back and forth indefinitely until someone gets tired and can't reply anymore.
5. Have a lot of fun! ♥

Season 2 begins tomorrow, all, and there've been plenty of developments and new blood since the first round - get the words flowin', get to know/re-know some of your gamemates, and/or simply shoot the breeze~

WHY IS KARA SO CUTE

also: does Kara have any negative CR/is that a thing you can see developing? How does she respond to adversity?

BECAUSE STARFIRE WAS CUTE AND EARTH LIFE JUST AMPLIFIED IT

But no seriously. I don't think that she currently has any negative CR, although I can see it happening at some point in the future. It would take an awful lot of doing, though, because Kara's is disgustingly understanding and willing to try and see the best in people. She's not as ridiculously naive as Starfire was, however, so while her threshold is stupid high it's not as outrageous as her preincarnation's.

She actually responds to adversity pretty well! It's a combination of being a really optimistic person and always having a super strong support net in her family whenever she's been faced with difficult situations in the past. She feels like there's no choice but to face your problems head on, so Kara usually just plunges into things rather than spending a lot of time wallowing. This can be both good and bad, since it also means that she's more likely to overwork herself or get in over her head pretty quickly.

So what did Dante do during the Wise Snake fiasco? That log exploded so I couldn't keep track of anything but I am curious. o3o

hahaha and also because my life exploded so in spite of intending on it he didn't actually get tagged into it..........

During Wise Snake Dante was with Varric and his crew! He doesn't have too much in the way of fighting skills yet but he'd echoed back control of Anti-Sora. He spent a lot of the battle ducking in and out of alleys and doorways to keep out of the actual combat while he used its powers to fight. (i.e. Abi didn't want to echo back any swordfighting yet because of Reasons 8D)

Is Kara the type of character you find yourself usually playing? What sorts of characters do you tend to go for/do you have any muses that break that mold?

Kara/Starfire is a little outside of character types that I've played in the past; like, I've played energetic and social characters before, but she's all of that turned up to eleven which is a little exhausting at times. I nearly died when her Valentine's post exploded the way it did because I wasn't expecting that at all, haha.

I don't really have a character type, though. Whenever that meme goes around on plurk or the like the most polite term I can use is eclectic, because I really run the gamut of who I pick up. The only common thread they really have between them all is that they're characters I like, which is. Kind of a given for roleplay.

That said, there are some character types that I pick up less frequently than others, which I guess counts as being an oddball. Completely unhinged psychos like Tzekel-Kan from Road to El Dorado, very intelligent and complex guys like Monk from the show of the same name...stuff like that. Basically stuff that takes work, now that I think about it.

What's your favorite character type and why? Since I don't think I answered this correctly haha.

How long have you had a Starfire muse, and why her?

Probably since the show came out or I started rping, whichever came first haha.

I've wanted to play Starfire for a long long time because she's my absolutely favorite in the series and she's always seemed like she'd be a ridiculous amount of fun to put in a game setting, but I kind of shied away from it for years because I was so petrified of messing her up. But then a bunch of my friends decided that they were going to blitzkrieg here with a Titans cast and I'm an infamously easy to enable person so here I am.

If you could pick one castmate to have here, who would it be and why?

Either Paul Luther (for probably too-obvious, too-straightforward reasons) or one of the Ancients (because come now that could prove to be fun for anyone to see) for Anthony! I re-hash that my reason for either would be simplistic - Paul, I've got to admit I'd be somewhat fascinated to arrange pre-existing CR with but hoo after a year of StE events that could be a bit of a mess; it really is as simple as "it could be very exciting to see in play" for any of the Ancients.

What's more important to you in enjoying your roleplaying - gamemates/CR/character interactions or having interesting plotting opportunities in terms of events/room for character actions and shenanigans to work with?

As much as I love really great CR, I've actually found throughout all my roleplay adventures that if the game for whatever reason doesn't really allow me to do things and tangibly make a difference (whether that be just in terms of character arcs or on a larger scale) it becomes incredibly difficult for me to play there long term. There have been a lot of times in the past where I've loved a game's premise or the cr I build in it but there's not really much for me to do and my characters end up stagnating which usually ends in a drop. It's sad. it's also why I probably will never play in SoL games lmao

What's the most difficult type of character for you to play?
