Questions Meme

As first posted here by Emely!:

1. Make a thread for yourself in this post, listing the characters you play and your own name.
2. Go find someone's thread to jump and ask them A QUESTION. The question can be anything, RP related is common, of course, but not necessary. Who do you want to app most? What does Character A think about Character B? What's your favorite flavor of icecream?
3. Answer all questions asked of you! Once you have answered, end your response with a question for the person who first questioned you. This is important to keep the discussion going and going.
4. This goes back and forth indefinitely until someone gets tired and can't reply anymore.
5. Have a lot of fun! ♥

Season 2 begins tomorrow, all, and there've been plenty of developments and new blood since the first round - get the words flowin', get to know/re-know some of your gamemates, and/or simply shoot the breeze~

What's your favorite thing about playing Ax/Alex?

I usually gravitate toward characters who are much more ambiguously good than Ax, and the one I've been playing the longest is arguably not good at all. It's a fun change to play a Boy Scout type. He's also much more optimistic than the other characters I play (or me!), and I both like the idea of the optimism as a species-wide trait and enjoy the challenge of finding the bright side of things so he can see it.

But my favorite thing is the way he plays with words. It's a blast to write. That's why I always play him in games where he'll be human most of the time!

What attracted you to playing Hamel/Emil?

The way he combines humor and seriousness. On one hand, he’s so over the top and his canon is so ridiculous nothing is too much for him. On the other hand, he has a lot of issues and ~angst~ you can play with. He can make the silliest AND darkest scenarios work. Hamel has a very strong voice and personality, he’s energetic and just pure fun, you can throw him pretty much anywhere and there’s a ton of stuff you can do with him.

With Emil, it’s to chance to play a version of Hamel that’s actually happy and has an easier time making friends. People may not get along with Emil because he’s a jerk, but if their personalities mesh well he’ll befriend them where Hamel would close up and push them away.

Also, it’s a chance to give a character a normal life without a tragic past and emotional baggage… and later have fun with making him remember terrible things.

Is there a particular canon moment you’d like to recreate with Alex in the game?

That's pretty much the whole appeal of Save the Earth for me! >D

I would love for Ax's memory of bonding with his brother to be something that could happen in game, but my friend who plays Elfangor is resisting attempts to be enabled. I'm definitely planning an echo that will make Alex decide someone, more than likely Nick, is his "prince," and call him that. A lot.

Are there any echoes you couldn't/can't wait to give Emil?

Haha, I loved how the “prince” thing turned into a running gag between Ax and Jake.

I look forward to slowly giving back his Mazoku traits. I already gave him his horn and I can’t wait to give back the instincts of a sociopathic cannibal monster (which he will hate and fight against, like his past self). Later he will remember the time he actually gave in to his instincts and slaughtered everyone in town. It will be terrible, even more terrible because the more emotionally distressed he is, the more he is likely to lose it and go on a homicidal rage. It’s a cycle of horrible things >D

Favorite Ax book?

Ooh, good question! I think he'd go for: something little, like a ladybug (or an ant, since he hasn't echoed back the memory of why that's BAD); something that can fly, probably a hawk; and something scary, like a tiger or a grizzly bear.

If Anthony could pick any historical period to live in, which would he choose?
