Haha, awww!

If Julien goes off the athelas he sits around feeling alone, sleeps all day and pulls out his feathers. He was in denial about the bird thing for so long, and it was a huge blow. The fantasy-drug makes it less crushing and means he can reach out and be around people - Julien doesn't feel like he can ask for help or tell anyone how he feels.

Yes, and when Gabriel finds that out he's going to hit him and then hug him. He should know that he can talk to Gabriel!

It's a job and a half prying these thing out of Jules now. He had an echo about trying to be emotionally independent since no one will always be there. Though, it's not full-out Yuuya's secrecy about these things. Julien will joke about and actually state some things, even if he downplays them.

it might take a while before things come to a head then, but Gabe will be worrying about him til then.

Before March Julien would carry some around and if he started to freak out, he'd take a leaf in hot water. Now...

Jules used to think he was turning into an angel. He kind of wants to share that, but he'd be so uncomfortable not making a joke out of it, and then if it got laughed at he'd be hurt. Poor foolish bird.

Gabe may be unwilling to offload pain and misery on someone, but so is Jules! It's also a matter of not wanting to be dependent, and pride and reciprocity. He hates to be the only one who's struggling or has been weak.
